¹⁷ And ye kynge commaunded, that they shulde breake out greate and costly stones, namely frestone, for the foundacion of the house.

⁷ And whan ye house was buylded, it was buylded of whole and outbroken stones, so yt there was herde nether hammer ner axe, ner eny other instrument of yron, whan the house was a buyldinge.

⁹ All these were costly stone hewen after ye measure, cut with sawes on euery syde, from the grounde vnto the rofe: and without the greate courte also.

² And Dauid comaunded to gather together the straungers that were in ye londe of Israel, and appoynted masons to hewe stone for the buyldinge of the house of God.

¹⁶ Therfore thus saieth the LORDE God: Beholde, I wil laye a stone in Sion, a greate stone, a costly corner stone for a sure foundacion: yt who so putteth his trust in him, shal not be confouded.

¹¹ For other foudacion can noman laye, then that which is layed, the which is Iesus Christ. ¹² But yf eny man buylde vpon this foundacion, golde, syluer, precious stones, tymber, haye, stobble,

⁶ Wherfore it is conteyned in the scripture: Beholde, I put in Sion an heade corner stone, electe & precious, and he that beleueth on him, shal not be cofounded. ⁷ Vnto you therfore which beleue, he is precious: but vnto them that beleue not, is ye same stone which the buylders refused, made the heade stone in the corner,

¹⁴ and the wall of the cite had twolue foundacios, and in them the names of the lambes twolue Apostles. ¹⁵ And he that talked with me, had a golden rede to measure the cite with all, and the gates therof, and the wall therof. ¹⁶ And the cite was bylt foure square, and the length was as large as the bredth of it, and he measured the cite with the rede twolue M. furlonges: and the length and the bredth, and ye heyth of it, were equall. ¹⁷ And he measured the wall therof, an cxliiij. cubittes, after ye measure of a man, which the angel had. ¹⁸ And the buyldinge of the wall of it was of Iaspar. The fyrst foundacion was a Iasper, the seconde a Saphyre, ye thyrde a Calcedony, the fourth a Smaragde: ²⁰ the fyft a Sardonix: the sixt a Sardeos: the seuenth a Crysolite, the eyght berall: the nynth a Topas: the tenth a Crysoprasos: the eleueth a Iacyncte: the twelfte an Amatist. ²¹ And the twolue gates were twolue pearles, and euery gate was of one pearle, and ye strete of the cite was pure golde, as a thoroweshyninge glasse.
