⁴ We were buried therefore with him through baptism into death, so that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.

² And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. ³ His appearance was like lightning, and his clothes were white as snow.

¹¹ This, the first of his signs, Jesus did at Cana in Galilee, and manifested his glory; and his disciples believed in him.

¹⁹ Jesus answered them, "Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up." ²⁰ The Jews then said, "It has taken forty-six years to build this temple, and will you raise it up in three days?"

⁴⁰ Jesus said to her, "Did I not tell you that if you would believe you would see the glory of God?"

²⁴ But God raised him up, having loosed the agony of death, because it was impossible for him to be held in its power.

³ Or do you not know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death?

⁹ For we know that Christ, being raised from the dead, will never die again; death no longer has dominion over him.

¹⁹ I am speaking in human terms, because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you once yielded your members to impurity and to greater and greater iniquity, so now yield your members to righteousness for holiness.

⁶ But now, by dying to what once held us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

¹¹ If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will give life to your mortal bodies also through his Spirit who dwells in you.

¹ I appeal to you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. ² Do not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.

¹³ Let us walk properly, as in the day, not in reveling and drunkenness, not in lewdness and lust, not in quarreling and jealousy. ¹⁴ But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

¹⁴ By his power God raised the Lord, and he will also raise us up.

¹⁷ Therefore, if any one is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has passed away, behold, the new has come.

⁴ For he was crucified in weakness, yet he lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in him, but we shall live with him by the power of God for you.

¹⁵ For neither is circumcision anything, nor uncircumcision, but what counts is a new creation. ¹⁶ Peace and mercy be upon all who walk by this rule, upon the Israel of God.

¹⁹ and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power in us who believe. These are in accordance with the working of the strength of his might ²⁰ which he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places,

⁵ even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), ⁶ and raised us up with him, and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus,

¹⁷ Now this I affirm and testify in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the futility of their minds,

²² You were taught, with regard to your former manner of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful lusts; ²³ and be renewed in the spirit of your minds, ²⁴ and put on the new nature, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

⁸ for once you were darkness, but now you are light in the Lord; walk as children of light

¹⁷ Brethren, join in following my example, and observe those who live according to the pattern you have in us. ¹⁸ For many, of whom I have often told you and now tell you even with tears, live as enemies of the cross of Christ.

⁹ For this reason also, since the day we heard it, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, ¹⁰ so that you will live a life worthy of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. ¹¹ May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, ¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.

¹¹ In him you were also circumcised with a circumcision made without hands, by putting off the body of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ; ¹² having been buried with him in baptism, in which you were also raised up with him through faith in the working of God, who raised him from the dead. ¹³ When you were dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, God made you alive together with him, having forgiven us all our sins,

¹ If then you have been raised with Christ, seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. ² Set your minds on the things above, not on things that are on earth. ³ For you have died, and your life is hidden with Christ in God.

¹⁰ and have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its Creator.

¹ Masters, provide your slaves with what is right and fair, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.

²¹ And corresponding to that, baptism now saves younot the removal of dirt from the flesh, but an appeal to God for a good consciencethrough the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

¹ Therefore, since Christ has suffered in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same purpose, because he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, ² so as to live the rest of the time in the flesh no longer for human lusts, but for the will of God.

⁴ By these he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may escape from the corruption that is in the world because of lust, and become partakers of the divine nature. ⁵ For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith virtue; and to virtue, knowledge, ⁶ and to knowledge, self-control, and to self-control, perseverance, and to perseverance, godliness, ⁷ and to godliness, brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness, love. ⁸ For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they keep you from being ineffective or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. ⁹ For whoever lacks these things is blind and shortsighted, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins.

⁶ he who says he abides in him ought to walk as he walked.
