³³ Another parable hear: A man who was a householder plants a vineyard and places a stone dike about it, and excavates a trough in it, and builds a tower, and leased it to farmers, and travels."

¹⁵ So I took the heads of your tribes, men wise and known, and I placed them as heads over you, chiefs of thousands, chiefs of hundreds, chiefs of fifties, chiefs of tens and as superintendents for your tribes. ¹⁶ And I instructed your judges at that time, saying:You are to hear the disputes between your brothers, and you will judge justly between a man and his brother or his sojourner. ¹⁷ You shall not recognize faces with partiality in judgment. You shall hear the small as the great. You shall not shrink away from any man's face, because the judgment, it is Elohim's. And the matter which is too hard for you, you shall bring near to me that I may hear it.

¹⁸ You shall appoint judges and superintendents for yourselves in all your gates which Yahweh your Elohim is giving to you for your tribes; and they will judge the people with just judgment.

⁹ And you will come to the priests, the Levites, and to the judge who shall come to be in those days; they will inquire and tell you the word of judgment. ¹⁰ Then you must act in accordance with the word that they shall tell you from that place that Yahweh your Elohim shall choose. You must observe to act according to all that they shall direct you. ¹¹ In accordance with the law by which they shall direct you and according to the judgment that they shall deliver to you, you shall act. You shall not withdraw from the word that they shall tell you, neither to the right nor left. ¹² Yet the man who acts with arrogance by not hearkening at all to the priest (who is standing to minister in the name of Yahweh your Elohim) or to the judge, that man must die. Thus you will eradicate the evil from Israel,

⁸ About Levi he said:May your Thummim and your Urim be for your benign man whom you probed at Massah; you contended with him at the waters of Meribah, ⁹ the one saying of his father and of his mother:I do not see them, and he neither recognized his brothers, nor did he know his sons. For they observed Your sayings and preserved Your covenant. ¹⁰ They shall direct Your judgments for Jacob, and Your law for Israel. They shall bring incense to Your nostrils and a holocaust on Your altar.

¹⁹ And he said, `Therefore, hear a word of Yahweh; I have seen Yahweh sitting on His throne, and all the host of the heavens standing by Him, on His right and on His left;"

⁸ You caused a vine to journey from Egypt; You drove out the nations, and You planted it." ⁹ You cleared out the way before it, So that it rooted its roots and filled the land." ¹⁰ The mountains were covered by its shadow, And the cedars of El by its boughs." ¹¹ It sent its harvest branches unto the Sea, And its young shoots to the Stream." ¹² Why have You breached its stone dikes, So that all who are passing by the way nip off its fruit? ¹³ The boar from the wildwood gorges on it, And the field mammal, it grazes upon it." ¹⁴ O Elohim of hosts, return, I pray; Look down from the heavens and see, And note this vine, ¹⁵ Even the sprig that Your right hand has planted; And watch over the son You have made resolute for Yourself. ¹⁶ It is burned with fire, obliterated; At the rebuke of Your countenance they are perishing."

¹¹ For Solomon, there was a vineyard in Baal-hamon; He gave out the vineyard to custodians; Each would bring for its fruit a thousand silver pieces." ¹² I have my own vineyard before me; The thousand are for you, Solomon, And two hundred for the custodians of its fruit."

¹⁰ Hear the word of Yahweh, captains of Sodom! Give ear to the law of Elohim, you people of Gomorrah!"

¹ Singing, pray, to My darling am I, a song of My affection for My vineyard:A vineyard becomes My darling's on a horn-like fertile hill, a stone dike am I placing around it, and a rampart I make, ² and it is being cultivated and its stones thrown out. And it is being planted with a yellow muscat. And I am building a tower in its midst, and, moreover, a wine vat I hew in it, and I am expecting it to yield grapes, yet it is yielding stinking fruit? ³ And now, dweller of Jerusalem, and man of Judah, judge, pray, between Me and My vineyard, ⁴ what is there to do further for My vineyard, that I have not done for it? For what reason, when I expect it to yield grapes, yet it is yielding stinking fruit?

²¹ And I planted you a choice vine, wholly a true seed, And how have you been turned to Me, To the degenerate shoots of a strange vine?

³ and have said, Hear a word of Yahweh, you kings of Judah, and inhabitants of Jerusalem, Thus said Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of Israel:`Lo, I am bringing in evil on this place, at which the ears of every one who is hearing it do tingle,

¹ Hear the word of Yahweh, sons of Israel! For Yahweh has a contention with the dwellers of the land, for there is no truth and there is no kindness and there is no knowledge of Elohim in the land."

⁴ And you shall know that I send to you this instruction to become My covenant with Levi, says Yahweh of hosts." ⁵ My covenant came to be with him of life and peace, and I am giving them to him for fear, and he is fearing Me. Yet in view of My name he is dismayed." ⁶ The law of truth came to be in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips. In peace and in equity he went with Me, and restored many from depravity." ⁷ For the lips of a priest shall keep knowledge, and the law shall they seek from his mouth, for the messenger of Yahweh of hosts is he." ⁸ Yet you withdraw from the way. You cause many to stumble at the law. You ruin the covenant of Levi, says Yahweh of hosts." ⁹ And, moreover, I make you despised and low to all the people, according as you are not keeping My ways, yet you lift up faces in the law."

¹⁸ You, then, hear the parable of the sowing."

²⁸ Now what are you supposing? A man had two children. And, coming to the first, he said, 'Child, go today, work in my vineyard.'"

² saying, "On Moses' seat are seated the scribes and the Pharisees."

¹⁴ For it is even as a man traveling. He calls his own slaves and gives over to them his possessions. ¹⁵ And to one, indeed, he gives five talents, yet to one, two, yet to one, one; to each according to his own ability. And he travels immediately."

¹ And He begins to speak to them in parables: "A vineyard a man is planting, and he places about it a stone dike, and excavates a vat, and builds a tower, and leased it to farmers, and travels." ² And he dispatches to the farmers, at the season, a slave, that from the farmers he may be getting from the fruits of the vineyard." ³ And taking him, they lash him and dispatch him empty." ⁴ And again he dispatches to them another slave, and that one, pelting with stones, they hit his head and dispatch him in dishonor." ⁵ And again another he dispatches, and that one they kill, and many others, lashing these, indeed, yet killing those." ⁶ Still one had he, a son, his beloved. He dispatches him also, last, to them, saying that 'They will be respecting my son.'" ⁷ Yet those farmers say to themselves that 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him, and the enjoyment of the allotment will be ours!'" ⁸ And, taking him, they kill him and cast him outside of the vineyard." ⁹ What, then, will the lord of the vineyard be doing? He will be coming and destroying the farmers and will be giving the vineyard to others." ¹⁰ Did you not yet read this scripture? - 'The stone which is rejected by the builders, This came to be for the head of the corner." ¹¹ From the Lord came this, and it is marvelous in our eyes.'" ¹² And they sought to hold Him, and they were afraid of the throng, for they know that He spoke the parable to them. And, leaving Him, they came away."

³⁴ It is as a man, a traveler, leaving his home and giving his slaves authority, and to each his work, and he directs the doorkeeper that he may be watching."

¹² He said, then, "A certain man, a noble, went into a far country, to obtain for himself a kingdom, and to return."

⁹ Now He begins to be telling to the people this parable, "A certain man plants a vineyard and leased it to farmers, and travels a considerable time." ¹⁰ And in season he dispatches to the farmers a slave, that they shall give him of the fruit of the vineyard. Yet the farmers, lashing him, send him away empty." ¹¹ And, in addition, he sent a different slave. Yet that one also, lashing and dishonoring, those men send away empty." ¹² And, in addition, he sent a third. Yet wounding this one also, those men cast him out." ¹³ Now the lord of the vineyard said, 'What shall I be doing? I shall be sending my son, the beloved. Him they will be respecting equally with me.'" ¹⁴ Now on perceiving him, the farmers reasoned with one another, saying, 'This is the enjoyer of the allotment. Hither! We should be killing him, that the enjoyer of the allotment may become ours.'" ¹⁵ And, casting him outside of the vineyard, they kill him. What, then, will the lord of the vineyard be doing to them? ¹⁶ He will be coming and destroying these farmers and will be giving the vineyard to others.Now those hearing say, "May it not be coming to that!" ¹⁷ Yet He, looking at them, said, "What, then, is this that is written, 'The stone which is rejected by the builders, This came to be for the head of the corner'? ¹⁸ Everyone falling on that stone shall be shattered, yet on whomever it should be falling, it will be scattering him like chaff." ¹⁹ And the scribes and the chief priests seek to lay hands on Him in this hour, and they were afraid of the people, for they know that He told this parable in regard to them. "
