¹⁸ And Yahweh said unto Joshua, `Stretch out with the javelin which [is] in your hand towards Ai, for into your hand I give it;' and Joshua stretches out with the javelin which [is] in his hand toward the city,

⁵ Then Yahweh said to Moses: Say to Aaron, Stretch out your hand with your rod over the streams, over the waterways and over the ponds, and bring up the frogs on the land of Egypt.

¹⁶ And you, raise high your rod and stretch out your hand over the sea and split it, that the sons of Israel may enter into the midst of the sea on dry ground.

⁹ And Moses said to Joshua: Choose men for us and go forth. Fight with Amalek. Tomorrow I will be stationed on the summit of the hill with the rod of Elohim in my hand. ¹⁰ Joshua did just as Moses said to him, to fight with Amalek. As for Moses, Aaron and Hur, they ascended the summit of the hill. ¹¹ Now it came to be just as Moses was raising high his hands that Israel had the mastery, and just as he was giving his hands rest then Amalek had the mastery. ¹² When the hands of Moses became heavy, they took a stone and placed it beneath him, and he sat on it. As for Aaron and Hur, they upheld his hands, from this side one and and from that side one. So it came to be that his hands were constant until sunset. "

⁷ and you rise from the ambush, and have occupied the city, and Yahweh your Elohim has given it into your hand;"

²⁶ And Joshua has not brought back his hand which he stretched out with the javelin till that he has devoted all the inhabitants of Ai;

⁶ and a frontlet of brass [is] on his feet, and a javelin of brass between his shoulders,

⁴¹ And the Philistine goes on, going and drawing near unto David, and the man bearing the buckler [is] before him,

⁴⁵ And David said unto the Philistine, `You are coming unto me with sword, and with spear, and with buckler, and I am coming unto you in the name of Yahweh of Hosts, Elohim of the ranks of Israel, which you have reproached.

²⁵ For he has stretched his hand out against El, And he makes himself masterful against Him Who Suffices.

²³ On him the quiver jubilates, The blaze of spear and scimitar.
