⁷ And by the vastness of Your pomp You were demolishing those rising against You; You were sending forth Your heat; it was devouring them as straw.

¹⁶ Howbeit, for this sake I keep you standing, in order to make you see My vigor, and that My name may be related in the entire earth.

²⁶ There is none like the El of Yeshurun:Riding the heavens as your Helper and in His augustness, the skies,

¹³ Finish them in fury; finish them until they are no more; Then they shall know that Elohim is Ruler in Jacob To the limits of the earth. {Interlude{

³³ To the Rider in the heavens of heavens aforetime! Behold, He shall send out His voice, a strong voice."

⁴⁹ He sent upon them the heat of His anger, Rage and menace and distress, A mission of the messengers of perils, ⁵⁰ Who aligned a track for His anger; He did not keep back their soul from death, And He closed their life over to the plague."

¹³ O my Elohim, set them aside like tumbleweed, Like straw before the wind."

¹³ May they praise the Name of Yahweh, For an Impregnable Retreat is His Name, His alone; His splendor is over the earth and heavens;"

¹⁶ And lofty is Yahweh of hosts in judgment, and holy El is hallowed in righteousness."

²⁴ Wherefore, as a straw is devoured by a tongue of fire, and chaff in a blaze is collapsing, their root as if putrefied is becoming, and their bud as dust is ascending, for they reject the law of Yahweh of hosts, and the saying of the Holy One of Israel they spurn."

¹⁷ Stretch out Your ear, Yahweh, and hear! Unclose Your eyes, Yahweh, and see! And hear all the words of Sennacherib, which he sent to reproach the living Elohim."

²³ Whom do you reproach and taunt? And against Whom do you raise high your voice? And you are lifting up your eyes to the height against the Holy One of Israel?

²⁹ Because your perturbance against Me and your tumult ascends in My ears, so I will place My gaff in your nose, and My bit in your lips, and I will reverse you by the way in which you came."

³⁶ And faring forth is a messenger of Yahweh and smiting in the Assyrian camp a hundred and eighty five thousand. And the king is rising early in the morning--and behold! All of them are corpses--dead!

³⁸ And he is coming to worship in the house of Nisroch, his elohim, and Adrammelech and Sharezer, his sons, smite him with the sword. Yet they escape into the land of Ararat, and reigning is Esarhaddon, his son, in his stead."

¹⁴ Behold! They all become as straw. Fire shall burn them up. They shall not rescue their soul from the hand of the blaze. It is no ember to warm them, or light to sit in front of."

⁶ Because there is none like You, O Yahweh, Great [are] You, and great Your name in might."

¹¹ And now many nations are gathered against you, saying:She shall be polluted and our eyes will perceive it in Zion."

⁹ What are you devising against Yahweh? He will make a finish; distress is not rising a second time. ¹⁰ Though they are still as entangled briars, and as those groggy with their grog, they shall be devoured as straw fully dry." ¹¹ From you fares forth one devising evil against Yahweh, a decadent counselor." ¹² Thus says Yahweh:Though they are poised and so numerous, even so, they shall be shorn, and he shall pass away. Though I humbled you, I will not humble you further."

⁸ For thus says Yahweh of hosts:After the glory He sends me to the nations, your looters; for he who is touching you is touching the apple of My eye."

³ Then Yahweh shall fare forth and fight against those nations, as the day He fought in the day of attack."

⁸ And it comes to be in that day, that living waters shall fare forth from Jerusalem, half of them to the eastern sea, and half of them to the latter sea. In summer and in winter shall it be thus."

¹ For behold! The day of Yahweh is coming, consuming as a stove, and it devours them. And all the arrogant and all doing wickedness become straw. And the coming day sets them aflame, says Yahweh of hosts, which will not leave to them root or bough."

¹² Whose winnowing shovel is in His hand, and He will be scouring His threshing floor, and will be gathering His grain into His barn, yet the chaff will He be burning up with unextinguished fire."

⁴ And falling on the earth, he hears a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?
