¹ And he makes an altar of brass, twenty cubits its length, and twenty cubits its breadth, and ten cubits its height.

¹ You will make the altar of acacia boards, five cubits the length and five cubits the width. The altar shall come to be square, and its rise shall be three cubits. ² You will make its horns on its four corners; its horns shall be of one piece with it; and you will overlay it with copper. ³ You will make its pots for its greasy ash, and its shovels, its sprinkling bowls, its flesh-hooks, and its fire-pans; all its furnishings shall you make of copper. ⁴ You will make it for a grate, a handiwork of copper net, and make on the net four rings of copper on its four ends. ⁵ You will put it beneath the encompassment of the altar from below so that the net comes as far as halfway up the altar. ⁶ You will make poles for the altar, poles of acacia wood, and overlay them with copper. ⁷ Then you will insert its poles in the rings, and the poles will come to be on the two angle walls of the altar when carrying it. ⁸ Hollow, of planks, shall you make it; just as one shows you on the mount, so shall they do.

²² And Solomon stands before the altar of Yahweh, over-against all the assembly of Israel, and spreads his hands towards the heavens,

⁶⁴ On that day has the king sanctified the middle of the court that [is] before the house of Yahweh, for he has made there the burnt-offering, and the present, and the fat of the peace-offerings; for the altar of brass that [is] before Yahweh [is] too little to contain the burnt-offering, and the present, and the fat of the peace-offerings.

²⁵ And Solomon caused to ascend, three times in a year, burnt-offerings and peace-offerings on the altar that he built to Yahweh, and he perfumed it with that which [is] before Yahweh, and finished the house.

¹⁴ As to the altar of brass that [is] before Yahweh--he brings [it] near from the front of the house, from between the altar and the house of Yahweh, and puts it on the side of the altar, northward. ¹⁵ And king Ahaz commands him--Urijah the priest--saying, `On the great altar perfume the burnt-offering of the morning, and the present of the evening, and the burnt-offering of the king, and his present, and the burnt-offering of all the people of the land, and their present, and their libations; and all the blood of the burnt-offering, and all the blood of the sacrifice, on it you do sprinkle, and the altar of brass is to me to inquire [by]..

⁵ and the altar of brass that Bezaleel son of Uri, son of Hur made, he put before the tabernacle of Yahweh; and Solomon and the assembly seek to it.

¹³ `And these [are] measures of the altar by cubits:The cubit [is] a cubit and a handbreadth, and the centre [is] a cubit, and a cubit the breadth; and its border on its edge round about [is] one span, and this [is] the upper part of the altar." <sup>14</sup> And from the centre of the ground unto the lower border [is] two cubits, and the breadth one cubit, and from the lesser border unto the greater border four cubits, and the breadth a cubit." <sup>15</sup> `And the altar [is] four cubits, and from the altar and upward [are] four horns." ¹⁶ And the altar [is] twelve long by twelve broad, square in its four squares." ¹⁷ And the border [is] fourteen long by fourteen broad, at its four squares, and the border round about it [is] half a cubit, and the centre to it [is] a cubit round about, and its steps are looking eastward.'"
