¹ Then the high priest said, "Are these things so?"

⁶¹ and said, "This Man said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God, and after three days to rebuild it.' " ⁶² And standing up the high priest said to Him, "Do You answer nothing? What is it these men are testifying against You?"

⁵⁸ "We heard Him saying, 'I will destroy this temple made with hands, and after three days I will build another one not made with hands.' " ⁵⁹ But not even in this way was their testimony the same. ⁶⁰ And the high priest stood up and came forward and questioned Jesus, saying, "Do You answer nothing? What are these men testifying against You?"

¹⁹ Then high priest asked Jesus about His disciples and His doctrine. ²⁰ Jesus answered him, "I spoke openly to the world. I always taught in synagogues and in the temple, where the Jews always come together, and in secret I spoke nothing. ²¹ Why do you question Me? Question those who have heard Me, what I spoke to them. Indeed they know what I said."

³³ Then Pilate entered the Praetorium again, and called Jesus, and said to Him, "Are You the King of the Jews?" ³⁴ Jesus answered him, "For yourself do you say this, or did others tell you about Me?" ³⁵ Pilate answered, "Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You to me. What have You done?"

¹³ And they put forward false witnesses saying, "This man does not cease to speak blasphemous words against the holy place and the law; ¹⁴ for we have heard him saying that this Jesus the Nazarene will destroy this place and change the customs which Moses handed down to us."
