¹ These are ye names of the tribes: from the north side to the coast towarde Hethlon, till thou comest vnto Hamah and Hazar, Enan, the borders of Damascus northward, the coast of Hamah, Dan shall haue his portion from the east quarter vnto the west

³ Then she sayde: Here is my mayde Bilha, go in vnto her, & she shall beare vpon my knees, that I also may haue chyldren by her ⁴ And she gaue him Bilha her handmayde to wyfe: and Iacob went in vnto her ⁵ And Bilha conceaued, and bare Iacob a sonne ⁶ Then saide Rachel: God hath geuen sentence on my side, and hath also heard my voyce, and hath geuen me a sonne: therfore called she hym Dan

¹ These are the names of the children of Israel, whiche came into Egypt with Iacob, euery ma came with his housholde ² Ruben, Simeon, Leui, and Iuda ³ Isachar, Zabulon, and Beniamin ⁴ Dan and Nephthali, Gad & Aser ⁵ All the soules that came out of the line of Iacob, were seuentie

⁵ And these are the names of the men that shall stand with you: of [the tribe of] Ruben, Elizur, the sonne of Sedeur ⁶ Of Simeon, Selumiel the sonne of Suri Saddai ⁷ Of Iuda, Nahesson, the sonne of Aminadab ⁸ Of Isachar, Nathanael the sonne of Zuar ⁹ Of Zabulon, Eliab the sonne of Helo ¹⁰ Among the chyldren of Ioseph: of Ephraim, Elisama the sonne of Ammihud: of Manasse, Gameliel the sonne of Pedazur ¹¹ Of Beniamin, Abidan the sonne of Gedeon ¹² Of Dan, Ahiezer the sonne of Ammi Saddai ¹³ Of Aser, Pagiel the sonne of Orran ¹⁴ Of Gad, Elisah the sonne of Duel ¹⁵ Of Nephthali, Ahira ye sonne of Enan

Of the tribe of Ruben, Sammua the sonne of Zacur. ⁵ [Of the tribe of Simeon, Saphat the sonne of Hori. ⁶ [Of the tribe of Iuda, Caleb the sonne of Iephune. ⁷ [Of the tribe of Isachar, Igal the sonne of Ioseph. ⁸ [Of the tribe of Ephraim, Osea the sonne of Nun. ⁹ [Of the tribe of Beniamin, Palti the sonne of Raphu. ¹⁰ [Of the tribe of Zabulon, Gaddiel the sonne of Sodi. ¹¹ [Of the tribe of Ioseph, namely of the tribe of Manasse, Gaddi the sonne of Susi. ¹² [Of the tribe of Dan, Amiel the sonne of Gemalli. ¹³ [Of the tribe of Aser, Sethur the sonne of Michael. ¹⁴ [Of the tribe of Nephthali, Nahabi the sonne of Uaphsi. ¹⁵ [Of the tribe of Gad, Guel the sonne of Machi.

⁷ And this shalbe your north quarter: ye shall compasse your border from the great sea, vnto mount Hor ⁸ And from mount Hor, ye shall describe your border, tyll it come vnto Hemath, & the end of the coast shalbe at Zedada ⁹ And the coast shall reache out to Ziphron, and go out at Hazar Enan: This shalbe your north quarter

⁴⁰ And the seuenth lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan by their kinredes ⁴¹ And the coast of their inheritaunce was, Zaraah, Esthaol, Irsemes ⁴² Saelabin, Aialon, Iethlah ⁴³ Elon, and Themnathah, and Akron ⁴⁴ Elthekeh, Gibbethon, and Baalath ⁴⁵ Iehud, Banebarac, & Gathrimon ⁴⁶ Meiercon, and Arecon, with the border that lyeth before Iapho ⁴⁷ And the coastes of the childre of Dan went out from them: And the children of Dan went vp to fyght against Lesem, and toke it, and smote it with ye edge of the sworde, & conquered it, and dwelt therin, and called it Dan, after the name of Dan their father

²⁶ And so the children of Dan went their wayes: And when Micah sawe that they were to strong for hym, he turned and went backe vnto his house ²⁷ And they toke the thinges which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came vnto Lais, euen vnto a people that were at rest and without mystrust, and smote them with the edge of the sword, & burnt the citie with fire ²⁸ And there was no man to helpe, because Lais was farre from Sidon, & they had medlyng with any other man: And it was in the valley that lyeth by Bethrehob ²⁹ And they buylt them there a citie, and dwelt therin, & called it Dan after the name of Dan their father, which was borne vnto Israel: Howbeit, the name of the citie was Lais at ye begynnyng

² For the king sayde to Ioab the captaine of the hoast which was with him: Go thou abrode now throughout al the tribes of Israel, euen from Dan to Beerseba, and number ye the people, that I may knowe the number of them

²⁸ Wherupon the king toke counsel, and made two calues of golde, and sayd vnto them, It is muche for you to go vp to Hierusalem: Behold O Israel, these are thy goddes, which brought thee out of the lande of Egypt ²⁹ And he set the one in Bethel, and the other set he in Dan

¹⁵ This is the border of the lande vpon the north side, from the maine sea toward Hethlon, as men go to Zedada ¹⁶ [namely] Hamah, Berotha, Sabarim, which are betweene the borders of Damascus, and betweene the borders of Hamah, Hazar Hatichon, that lyeth vpon the coastes of Hauran ¹⁷ Thus the borders from the sea foorth shalbe Hazar Enan, the border of Damascus, and the north northwarde, and the borders of Hamah: this is the north part

²⁰ The west part also shalbe the great sea, from the borders till a man come ouer against Hamah: this is the west part

¹⁵ Is it not lawfull for me, to do that I wyll with myne owne? Is thyne eye euyll, because I am good ¹⁶ So the last, shalbe the first, & the first [shalbe] last: For many be called, but fewe [be] chosen

⁴ And I hearde the number of them which were sealed: And there were sealed an 100 and 44 thousande, of all the tribes of the chyldren of Israel ⁵ Of the tribe of Iuda were sealed 12 thousande. Of the tribe of Ruben were sealed 12 thousande. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed 12 thousande ⁶ Of the tribe of Aser were sealed 12 thousande. Of the tribe of Nephthali were sealed 12 thousande. Of ye tribe of Manasses were sealed 12 thousande ⁷ Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed 12 thousande. Of ye tribe of Leui were sealed 12 thousande.
