¹ So, then, my brethren, beloved and ardently desired, my joy and my crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my beloved.

²² And you will be hated by all men on my account: but he that endures to the end shall be saved.

³¹ Then said Jesus to those Jews that believed on him: If you continue in my word, you are my disciples indeed,

³ Now are you pure, through the word which I have spoken to you. ⁴ Abide in me, and I will abide in you. As the branch can not bear fruit of itself, unless it abide in the vine, so neither can you, unless you abide in me.

⁴² And they attended constantly to the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of bread, and the prayers.

²³ When he had come, and had seen the grace of God, he rejoiced; and he exhorted them all to remain, with purpose of heart, faithful to the Lord.

²² strengthening the souls of the disciples, exhorting them to continue in the faith, and saying, that through many afflictions we mast enter the kingdom of God.

⁷ to those who, by patient continuance in good works, seek for glory and honor and incorruptibility, eternal life:

⁵⁸ Therefore, my be loved brethren, be firm, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord; for you know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.

¹³ Be watchful, stand fast in the faith, be men, be resolute.

¹⁴ as some of you also acknowledge us, that we are the cause of your rejoicing, even as you, also, are of ours, in the day of the Lord Jesus.

¹ Stand firm, therefore, in the freedom with which Christ has made us free, and be not held fast again in the yoke of bondage.

¹⁰ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in his mighty power. ¹¹ Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand firm against the wiles of the devil: ¹² for our conflict is not with flesh and blood, but with the principalities, with the authorities, with the rulers of the darkness of this world, with the wicked spirits in the heavenly regions. ¹³ Therefore, take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand them in the evil day, and having overcome them all, to stand firm. ¹⁴ Stand, therefore, having your loins girded about with truth, and wearing the breastplate of righteousness, ¹⁵ and having your feet shod with that preparation for defense supplied by the gospel of peace; ¹⁶ taking up, over all, the shield of faith, with which you shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one: ¹⁷ and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: ¹⁸ praying with all prayer and supplication, at all times, in the Spirit; and to this end being watchful in all perseverance, and supplication for all the saints:

⁸ For God is my witness how ardently I love you with the affection of Christ Jesus.

²⁷ Only conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of the Christ, that, whether I come and see you, or be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that you stand fast in one spirit, with one soul striving together for the faith of the gospel,

¹⁶ holding forth the word of life, that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I did not run in vain, nor labor in vain.

²⁶ because he longed after you all, and was much distressed, because you had heard that he was sick.

²⁰ But our citizenship is in heaven, whence also we look for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, ²¹ who will transform our humbled body, and make it like his glorious body, according to that power by which he is able to subdue all things to himself.

¹² Epaphras, who is one of you, a servant of Christ, salutes you; he always strives earnestly for you in his prayers, that you may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God.

¹⁹ For what is our hope, or joy, or crown of rejoicing? Are not even you, in the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ at his coming? -You indeed are our glory and ²⁰ :

⁸ for now we live, if you stand firm in the Lord. ⁹ For what thanks can we render to God for you, for the great joy with which we rejoice on your account before our God,

¹³ in order that he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness, in the presence of our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ with all his saints.

¹⁵ Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which you have been taught, whether by word or by our letter.

¹ Do you, therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus;

¹⁴ For we are partakers of the Christ, if we hold our begun confidence firm to the end;

¹⁴ Seeing, then, that we have a great high priest, who has passed through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our confession.

²³ let us hold fast the unwavering confession of our hope, for he is faithful who has promised;

³⁵ Cast not away, therefore, your confidence, which has a great reward. ³⁶ For you have need of patience, that, after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.

¹¹ Seeing, then, that all these things shall be dissolved, what sort of persons ought you to be in all holy behavior, and godliness, ¹² looking for and earnestly desiring the coming of the day of God, because of which coming the heavens shall dis solve in fire, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat. ¹³ But we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, in which dwells righteousness. ¹⁴ Wherefore, beloved, seeing that you expect such things, earnestly strive, by being spotless and blameless, to be found by him in peace:

¹⁷ Do you, therefore, beloved, since you know these things be forehand, beware, lest, being led away with the error of the wicked, you fall from your own steadfastness.

²⁰ But you, beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit, ²¹ keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ, in order to eternal life.

²⁴ Now to him that is able to keep you free from stumbling, and to present you blameless in the presence of his glory with exceeding joy, to the only God our Savior, be glory and majesty, strength and authority, both now and throughout all the ages. Amen. ²⁵ :

¹⁰ Because you have kept the word of my patience, I also will keep you from the hour of trial that is about to come on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth. ¹¹ I come quickly: hold fast that which you have, that no one take your crown.
