²¹ who will transform our humbled body, and make it like his glorious body, according to that power by which he is able to subdue all things to himself.

² and he was transfigured before them: and his face did shine as the sun, and his clothing was white as the light.

²⁹ Jesus answered and said to them: You err, because you know neither the scriptures nor the power of God.

¹⁸ And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying: All authority in heaven and on earth is given to me.

²⁵ Verily, verily I say to you, The hour is coming, and now is, when the dead shall hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear, shall live. ²⁶ For as the Father has life in himself, so has he given to the Son also to have life in himself; ²⁷ and he has given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. ²⁸ Be not astonished at this; for the hour is coming in which all that are in the graves shall hear his voice, ²⁹ and shall come forth; those who have done good, to the resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, to the resurrection of condemnation.

²⁴ Martha said to him: I know that he will rise, in the resurrection at the last day. ²⁵ Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection, and the life; he that believes on me, though he were dead, yet shall he live; ²⁶ and he that lives and believes on me, shall never die. Do you believe this?

²⁹ For those whom he foreknew, he predestinated to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the first-born among many brethren:

²⁵ for he must reign till he has put all enemies under his feet. ²⁶ The last enemy, Death, shall be destroyed. ²⁷ For he has put all things under his feet. But when the scripture says, that all things are put under him, it is evident that he is excepted, who did put all things under him. ²⁸ And when all things shall have been put under him, then, also, shall the Son himself be subjected to him that did put all things under him, that God may be the all in all.

⁴² So, also, is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption, it is raised in incorruption: ⁴³ it is sown in dishonor, it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness, it is raised in power: ⁴⁴ it is sown an animal body, it is raised a spiritual body. There is an animal body, and there is a spiritual body. ⁴⁵ So, also, it is written: The first man Adam became a living soul, the last Adam a life-giving spirit. ⁴⁶ But that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is animal; and afterward that which is spiritual. ⁴⁷ The first man is of the earth, earthy; the second man, the Lord from heaven. ⁴⁸ As the earthy man was, such also are the earthy; and as the heavenly man is, such also shall the heavenly be. ⁴⁹ And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. ⁵⁰ But this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood can not inherit the kingdom of God, nor does corruption inherit incorruption. ⁵¹ Behold, I declare to you a mystery. We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed ⁵² in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet: For the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. ⁵³ For this corruptible body must put on incorruptibility; and this mortal body must put on immortality. ⁵⁴ And when this corruptible body shall have put on incorruptibility, and this mortal body shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the word that is written: Death is swallowed up in victory. ⁵⁵ Death, where is thy sting? Hades, where is thy victory? ⁵⁶ The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.

¹⁹ and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to ward us who believe in accordance with the energy of his mighty power, ²⁰ which he made active in the Christ when he raised him from the dead, and caused him to sit at his right hand in the heavenly places,

⁴ When the Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall you also appear with him in glory.

² Beloved, now are we the children of God, and it does not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

⁸ I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty.

¹³ and in the midst of the seven candlesticks, one like the Son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to his feet, and girded about the breast with a golden girdle. ¹⁴ His head and his hair were white as white wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; ¹⁵ and his feet were like fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace: and his voice was like the voice of many waters. ¹⁶ And he had in his right hand seven stars; and out of his mouth went a sharp, two-edged sword: arid his face was as the sun when it shines in its strength. ¹⁷ And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead; and he laid his right hand upon me, saying: Fear not, I am the First and the Last, ¹⁸ and I am he that lives; and I was dead, and be hold, I am alive from age to age: and I have the keys of hades and of death. ¹⁹ Write, therefore, the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and those which shall be here after; ²⁰ the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in my right hand, and the seven golden candlesticks. The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches; and the seven candle sticks are the seven churches.

¹¹ And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat upon it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and no place was found for them. ¹² And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before the throne; and the books were opened; and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of the things that were written in the books, according to their works. ¹³ And the sea gave up the dead that were in it; and death and hades gave up the dead that were in them; and they were judged, every one according to his works. ¹⁴ And death and hades were cast into the lake of fire: this is the second death. ¹⁵ And if any one was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
