¹ Now these are the kings of the land, whom the sons of Israel smote, and possessed their land beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise, from the valley of the Arnon to mount Hermon, and all the Arabah eastward:

¹³ From there they journeyed, and encamped on the other side of the Arnon, which is in the wilderness that comes out of the border of the Amorites, for the Arnon is the border of Moab, between Moab and the Amorites.

²⁴ And Israel smote him with the edge of the sword, and possessed his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, even to the sons of Ammon, for the border of the sons of Ammon was strong.

²⁴ Rise ye up, take your journey, and pass over the valley of the Arnon. Behold, I have given into thy hand Sihon the Amorite, king of Heshbon, and his land. Begin to possess it, and contend with him in battle.

⁸ And we took the land at that time out of the hand of the two kings of the Amorites who were beyond the Jordan, from the valley of the Arnon to mount Hermon ⁹ (the Sidonians call Hermon, Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir),

⁴⁸ from Aroer, which is on the edge of the valley of the Arnon, even to mount Sion (the same is Hermon),

¹⁵ until LORD has given your brothers rest, as you, and they also have possessed the land which LORD your God gives them. Then ye shall return to the land of your possession, and possess it, which Moses the servant of LORD gave you beyond the Jordan toward the sunrise.

³ to the Canaanite on the east and on the west, and the Amorite, and the Hittite, and the Perizzite, and the Jebusite in the hill-country, and the Hivite under Hermon in the land of Mizpah,

¹⁷ from mount Halak, that goes up to Seir, even to Baal-gad in the valley of Lebanon under mount Hermon. And he took all their kings, and smote them, and put them to death.

⁴ And now LORD your God has given rest to your brothers, as he spoke to them. Therefore now turn ye, and get you to your tents, to the land of your possession, which Moses the servant of LORD gave you beyond the Jordan.

¹⁸ Then they went through the wilderness, and went around the land of Edom, and the land of Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab. And they encamped on the other side of the Arnon, but they did not come within the border of Moab, for the Arnon was the border of Moab.

³ like the dew of Hermon, that comes down upon the mountains of Zion. For there LORD commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.

² For it shall be that, as wandering birds, as a scattered nest, so shall the daughters of Moab be at the fords of the Arnon.
