¹ Now in the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, on the thirteenth day of the same, when the king's commandment and his decree drew near to be put in execution on the day that the enemies of the Jews hoped to have rule over them (whereas it was turned to the contrary, that the Jews had rule over those who hated them),

³⁶ For LORD will judge his people, and regrets for his servants, when he sees that their power is gone, and there is none remaining, shut up or left at large.

⁴¹ Thou have also made my enemies turn their backs to me, that I might cut off those who hate me.

⁷ In the first month, which is the month Nisan, in the twelfth year of king Ahasuerus, they cast Pur, that is, the lot, before Haman from day to day, and from month to month, to the twelfth month, which is the month Adar.

¹³ And letters were sent by posts into all the king's provinces, to destroy, to kill, and to cause to perish, all Jews, both young and old, little sons and women, in one day, even upon the thirteenth day of the twelfth month, which is the month Adar, and to take the spoil of them for a prey.

And they shall call thee The city of LORD, The Zion of the Holy One of Israel. ¹⁵ Whereas thou have been forsaken and hated, so that no man passed through thee, I will make thee an eternal excellency, a joy of many generations. ¹⁶ Thou shall also suck the milk of the nations, and shall suck the breast of kings. And thou shall know that I, LORD, am thy Savior, and thy Redeemer, the Mighty One of Jacob.

¹¹ And when Peter came to himself, he said, Now I know truly, that the Lord dispatched his agent and delivered me out of the hand of Herod and all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

¹⁸ And the nations were angry. And thy wrath came, and the time of the dead to be judged, and to give the reward to thy bondmen the prophets, and to the sanctified, and to those who fear thy name, the small and the great, and to destroy those who destroy the earth.
