Clementine_Vulgate(i) 1 [Diligite justitiam, qui judicatis terram.
Wycliffe(i) 1 Ye that demen the erthe, loue riytfulnesse; feele ye of the Lord in goodnesse, and seke ye hym in the symplenesse of herte. 2 For he is foundun of hem, that tempten not hym; forsothe he apperith to hem, that han feith in to hym. 3 For whi weiward thouytis departen fro God; but preued vertu repreueth vnwise men. 4 For whi wisdom schal not entre in to an yuel willid soule; nethir schal dwelle in a bodi suget to synnes. 5 Forsothe the Hooli Goost of wisdom schal fle awei fro `a feyned man, and he schal take awei hym silf fro thouytis, that ben with out vnderstondyng; and the man schal be punyschid of wyckidnesse comynge aboue. 6 For the spirit of wisdom is benyngne, and he schal not delyuere a cursid man fro hise lippis; for whi God is witnesse of hise reynes, and the serchere of his herte is trewe, and the herere of his tunge. 7 For whi the Spirit of the Lord hath fillid the world; and this thing, that conteyneth alle thingis, hath the kunnyng of vois. 8 For this he that spekith wickid thingis, may not be hid; and doom punyschynge schal not passe hym. 9 For whi axyng schal be in the thouytis of a wickid man. 10 Forsothe the heryng of hise wordis schal come to God, and to the punyschyng of hise wickidnessis; for the eere of feruent loue herith alle thingis, and the noise of grutchyngis schal not be hyd. 11 Therfor kepe ye you fro grutchyng, that profitith no thing, and fro bacbityng spare ye the tunge; for a derk word schal not go in to veyn; forsothe the mouth that lieth, sleeth the soule. 12 Nyle ye coueyte deth, in the errour of youre lijf, nether gete ye perdicioun in the werkis of youre hondis; for God made not deth, 13 nether is glad in the perdicioun of lyuynge men. 14 For whi God made of nouyt alle thingis, that tho schulden be; and he made the naciouns of the world able to be heelid. Forwhi medecyn of distriyng is not in tho men, nether the rewme of hellis is in erthe. 15 For riytfulnesse is euerlastynge, and vndeedli; but vnriytfulnesse is getyng of deeth. 16 Forsothe wickid men clepiden that vnriytfulnesse bi hondis and wordis, and thei gessiden it a frendesse, and fletiden awei, and thei puttiden biheestis to it; for thei ben worthi the deth, that ben of the part therof.
Geneva(i) 1 Love righteousnesse, ye that be Iudges of the earth: thinke reuerently of the Lord, and seeke him in simplicitie of heart. 2 For he wil be found of them that tempt him not, and appeareth vnto such as be not vnfaithfull vnto him. 3 For wicked thoughts separate from God: and his power when it is tried, reprooueth the vnwise, 4 Because wisdome cannot enter into a wicked heart, nor dwell in the body that is subiect vnto sinne. 5 For the holy Spirit of discipline fleeth from deceite, & withdraweth himselfe from the thoughts that are without vnderstanding, and is rebuked when wickednes commeth. 6 For the Spirit of wisdome is louing, and wil not absolue him, that blasphemeth with his lips: for God is a witnes of his reines, and a true beholder of his heart, and an hearer of the tongue. 7 For the Spirite of the Lorde filleth all the world: and the same that mainteineth all things, hath knowledge of the voyce. 8 Therefore hee that speaketh vnrighteous things, cannot be hid: neither shall the iudgement of reproche let him escape. 9 For inquisition shalbe made for the thoughts of the vngodly, and the sound of his wordes shall come vnto God for the correction of his iniquities. 10 For the eare of ielousie heareth al things, and the noyse of the grudgings shall not be hid. 11 Therefore beware of murmuring, which profiteth nothing, and refraine your tongue from slander: for there is no worde so secret, that shal go for nought, and the mouth that speaketh lyes, slayeth the soule. 12 Seeke not death in the errour of your life: destroy not your selues thorowe the workes of your owne hands. 13 For God hath not made death, neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the liuing. 14 For he created all things, that they might haue their being: and the generations of the world are preserued, and there is no poyson of destruction in them, & the kingdome of hell is not vpon earth. 15 For righteousnes is immortall, but vnrighteousnes bringeth death. 16 And the vngodly call it vnto them both with hands and wordes: and while they thinke to haue a friend of it, they come to naught: for they are confederate with it: therefore are they worthy to be partakers thereof.
Bishops(i) 1 Loue righteousnesse ye that be iudges of ye earth, consider deepely of the Lorde in goodnesse, and seeke hym in singlenesse of heart: 2 For he wyll be founde of them that tempt hym not, and appeareth vnto such as put no distrust in him. 3 For wicked thoughtes seperate from God, and [his] power when it is tryed, reproueth the vnwise. 4 For why? wysdome shall not enter into a wicked soule, nor dwell in the body that is subiect vnto sinne. 5 For the holy spirite of discipline fleeth from deceipt, and withdraweth hym selfe from thoughtes that are without vnderstanding, and is declared when wickednesse commeth. 6 For the spirite of wysdome is louing, and will not absolue hym that blasphemeth with his lippes, for God is witnesse of his raynes, and a true beholder of his heart, & an hearer of his tongue. 7 For the spirite of the Lorde filleth the rounde compasse of the worlde, and the same that vpholdeth all thinges hath knowledge also of the voyce. 8 Therfore he that speaketh vnrighteous thinges can not be hid, neither shall the iudgement of reprofe let him escape. 9 And why? inquisition shalbe made for the thoughtes of the vngodly, and the sounde of his wordes shall come vnto God, so that his wickednesse shalbe punished. 10 For the eare of ielousie heareth all thinges, & the noyse of the grudginges shall not be hid. 11 Therefore beware of murmuring whiche is nothing worth, and refraine your tongue from sclaunder: For there is no worde so secrete that it shall go for naught, and the mouth that speaketh lyes, slayeth the soule. 12 O seeke not your owne death in the errour of your lyfe, destroy not your selues thorowe the workes of your owne handes: 13 For God hath not made death, neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the liuing: 14 For he created all thinges that they might haue their being, and the generations of the worlde were healthfull, and there is no poyson of destruction in them, nor the kyngdome of hell vpon the earth. 15 For righteousnesse is [euerlasting and] immortall: but vnrighteousnesse bringeth death. 16 Neuerthelesse, the vngodly call it vnto them both with workes and wordes, and whyle they thinke to haue it their friende, they come to naught, & they haue made an agreement with it, for they are worthy to be of her part.
DouayRheims(i) 1 Love justice, you that are the judges of the earth. Think of the Lord in goodness, and seek him in simplicity of heart. 2 For he is found by them that tempt him not: and he sheweth himself to them that have faith in him. 3 For perverse thoughts seperate from God: and his power, when it is tried, reproveth the unwise: 4 For wisdom will not enter into a malicious soul, nor dwell in a body subject to sins. 5 For the Holy Spirit of discipline will flee from the deceitful, and will withdraw himself from thoughts that are without understanding, and he shall not abide when iniquity cometh in. 6 For the spirit of wisdom is benevolent, and will not acquit the evil speaker from his lips: for God is witness of his reins, and he is a true searcher of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue. 7 For the spirit of the Lord hath filled the whole world: and that, which containeth all things, hath knowledge of the voice. 8 Therefore he that speaketh unjust things cannot be hid, neither shall the chastising judgment pass him by. 9 For inquisition shall be made into the thoughts of the ungodly: and the hearing of his words shall come to God, to the chastising of his iniquities. 10 For the ear of jealousy heareth all things, and the tumult of murmuring shall not be hid. 11 Keep yourselves therefore from murmuring, which profiteth nothing, and refrain your tongue from detraction, for an obscure speech shall not go for nought: and the mouth that belieth, killeth the soul. 12 Seek not death in the error of your life, neither procure ye destruction by the works of your hands. 13 For God made not death, neither hath he pleasure in the destruction of the living. 14 For he created all things that they might be: and he made the nations of the earth for health: and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor kingdom of hell upon the earth. 15 For justice is perpetual and immortal. 16 But the wicked with works and words have called it to them: and esteeming it a friend have fallen away, and have made a covenant with it: because they are worthy to be of the part thereof.

ERV(i) 1 Love righteousness, ye that be judges of the earth, Think ye of the Lord with a good mind, And in singleness of heart seek ye him; 2 Because he is found of them that tempt him not, And is manifested to them that do not distrust him. 3 For crooked thoughts separate from God; And the [supreme] Power, when it is brought to the proof, putteth to confusion the foolish: 4 Because wisdom will not enter into a soul that deviseth evil, Nor dwell in a body that is held in pledge by sin. 5 For a holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit. And will start away from thoughts that are without understanding, And will be put to confusion when unrighteousness hath come in. 6 For wisdom is a spirit that loveth man, And she will not hold a blasphemer guiltless for his lips; Because God beareth witness of his reins, And is a true overseer of his heart, And a hearer of his tongue: 7 Because the spirit of the Lord hath filled the world, And that which holdeth all things together hath knowledge of [every] voice. 8 Therefore no man that uttereth unrighteous things shall be unseen; Neither shall Justice, when it convicteth, pass him by. 9 For in [the midst of] his counsels the ungodly shall be searched out; And the sound of his words shall come unto the Lord To bring to conviction his lawless deeds: 10 Because [there is] an ear of jealousy [that] listeneth to all things, And the noise of murmurings is not hid. 11 Beware then of unprofitable murmuring, And refrain your tongue from backbiting; Because no secret utterance shall go on its way void, And a mouth that belieth destroyeth a soul. 12 Court not death in the error of your life; Neither draw upon yourselves destruction by the works of your hands: 13 Because God made not death; Neither delighteth he when the living perish: 14 For he created all things that they might have being: And the generative powers of the world [are] healthsome, And there is no poison of destruction in them: Nor hath Hades royal dominion upon earth, 15 For righteousness is immortal: 16 But ungodly men by their hands and their words called death unto them: Deeming him a friend they consumed away, And they made a covenant with him, Because they are worthy to be of his portion.
WEB(i) 1 Love righteousness, all you who are judges of the earth. Think of the Lord with a good mind. Seek him in singleness of heart, 2 because he is found by those who don’t tempt him, and is manifested to those who trust him. 3 For crooked thoughts separate from God. His Power convicts when it is tested, and exposes the foolish. 4 Because wisdom will not enter into a soul that devises evil, nor dwell in a body that is enslaved by sin. 5 For a holy spirit of discipline will flee deceit, and will depart from thoughts that are without understanding, and will be ashamed when unrighteousness has come in. 6 For wisdom is a spirit who loves man, and she will not hold a blasphemer guiltless for his lips; because God is witness of his inmost self, and is a true overseer of his heart, and a hearer of his tongue: 7 Because the spirit of the Lord has filled the world, and that which holds all things together knows what is said. 8 Therefore no one who utters unrighteous things will be unseen; neither will Justice, when it convicts, pass him by. 9 For in his counsels the ungodly will be searched out, and the sound of his words will come to the Lord to bring his lawless deeds to conviction; 10 because a jealous ear listens to all things, and the noise of murmurings is not hidden. 11 Beware then of unprofitable murmuring, and keep your tongue from slander; because no secret utterance will go on its way void, and a lying mouth destroys a soul. 12 Don’t court death in the error of your life; and don’t draw destruction upon yourselves by the works of your hands, 13 because God didn’t make death; neither does he delight when the living perish. 14 For he created all things that they might have being. The generative powers of the world are wholesome, and there is no poison of destruction in them, nor has Hades royal dominion upon earth; 15 For righteousness is immortal, 16 but ungodly men by their hands and their words summon death; deeming him a friend they pined away. They made a covenant with him, because they are worthy to belong with him.
