60 But his mother said, "Never! But he must be named John."
61 Then they said to her, "There is no one among your relatives that bears that name."
62 So they began to make signs to his father to find out what he might wish him to be named.
63 Then he asked for a writing-tablet, and wrote, "His name is John." And they were all astonished.
