Jeremiah 21 The word which came to Jeremiah from the LORD , when king Zedekiah sent to him Pashur the son of Melchiah , and Zephaniah the son of Maaseiah the priest , saying,

1 H1697 The word H3414 which came to Jeremiah H3068 from the LORD H4428 , when king H6667 Zedekiah H7971 [H8800] sent H6583 to him Pashur H1121 the son H4441 of Melchiah H6846 , and Zephaniah H1121 the son H4641 of Maaseiah H3548 the priest H559 [H8800] , saying,

2 H1875 [H8798] Enquire H3068 , I pray thee, of the LORD H1157 for us H5019 ; for Nebuchadnezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon H3898 [H8737] maketh war H3068 against us; it may be that the LORD H6213 [H8799] will deal H6381 [H8737] with us according to all his wondrous works H5927 [H8799] , that he may go up from us.

3 H559 [H8799] Then said H3414 Jeremiah H559 [H8799] to them, Thus shall ye say H6667 to Zedekiah:

4 H559 [H8804] Thus saith H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H5437 [H8688] ; Behold, I will turn back H3627 the weapons H4421 of war H3027 that are in your hands H3898 [H8737] , with which ye fight H4428 against the king H894 of Babylon H3778 , and against the Chaldeans H6696 [H8802] , who besiege H2351 you outside H2346 the walls H622 [H8804] , and I will assemble H8432 them into the midst H5892 of this city.

5 H3898 [H8738] And I myself will fight H5186 [H8803] against you with an outstretched H3027 hand H2389 and with a strong H2220 arm H639 , even in anger H2534 , and in fury H1419 , and in great H7110 wrath.

6 H5221 [H8689] And I will smite H3427 [H8802] the inhabitants H5892 of this city H120 , both man H929 and beast H4191 [H8799] : they shall die H1419 by a great H1698 pestilence.

7 H310 And afterward H5002 [H8803] , saith H3068 the LORD H5414 [H8799] , I will deliver H6667 Zedekiah H4428 king H3063 of Judah H5650 , and his servants H5971 , and the people H7604 [H8737] , and such as are left H5892 in this city H1698 from the pestilence H2719 , from the sword H7458 , and from the famine H3027 , into the hand H5019 of Nebuchadnezzar H4428 king H894 of Babylon H3027 , and into the hand H341 [H8802] of their enemies H3027 , and into the hand H1245 [H8764] of those that seek H5315 their life H5221 [H8689] : and he shall smite H6310 them with the edge H2719 of the sword H2347 [H8799] ; he shall not spare H2550 [H8799] them, neither have pity H7355 [H8762] , nor have mercy.

8 H5971 And to this people H559 [H8799] thou shalt say H559 [H8804] , Thus saith H3068 the LORD H5414 [H8802] ; Behold, I set H6440 before H1870 you the way H2416 of life H1870 , and the way H4194 of death.

9 H3427 [H8802] He that abideth H5892 in this city H4191 [H8799] shall die H2719 by the sword H7458 , and by the famine H1698 , and by the pestilence H3318 [H8802] : but he that goeth out H5307 [H8804] , and falleth H3778 to the Chaldeans H6696 [H8802] that besiege H2421 H2421 [H8804] you, he shall live H5315 , and his life H7998 shall be to him for a prize.

10 H7760 [H8804] For I have set H6440 my face H5892 against this city H7451 for evil H2896 , and not for good H5002 [H8803] , saith H3068 the LORD H5414 [H8735] : it shall be given H3027 into the hand H4428 of the king H894 of Babylon H8313 [H8804] , and he shall burn H784 it with fire.

11 H1004 And concerning the house H4428 of the king H3063 of Judah H8085 [H8798] , say, Hear H1697 ye the word H3068 of the LORD;

12 H1004 O house H1732 of David H559 [H8804] , thus saith H3068 the LORD H1777 [H8798] ; Execute H4941 judgment H1242 in the morning H5337 [H8685] , and deliver H1497 [H8803] him that is made desolate H3027 out of the hand H6231 [H8802] of the oppressor H2534 , lest my fury H3318 [H8799] go out H784 like fire H1197 [H8804] , and burn H3518 [H8764] that none can quench H6440 it, because H7455 of the evil H4611 of your doings.

13 H3427 [H8802] Behold, I am against thee, O inhabitant H6010 of the valley H6697 , and rock H4334 of the plain H5002 [H8803] , saith H3068 the LORD H559 [H8802] ; who say H5181 [H8799] , Who shall come down H935 [H8799] against us? or who shall enter H4585 into our habitations?

14 H6485 [H8804] But I will punish H6529 you according to the fruit H4611 of your doings H5002 [H8803] , saith H3068 the LORD H3341 [H8689] : and I will kindle H784 a fire H3293 in its forest H398 [H8804] , and it shall devour H5439 all things on every side of it.
