3 H116 Then H858 [H8684] they brought H1722 the golden H3984 vessels H5312 [H8684] that were taken H4481 out of H1965 the temple H1005 of the house H426 of God H3390 which was at Jerusalem H4430 ; and the king H7261 , and his princes H7695 , his wives H3904 , and his concubines H8355 [H8754] , drank in them.

4 H8355 [H8754] They drank H2562 wine H7624 [H8745] , and praised H426 the gods H1722 of gold H3702 , and of silver H5174 , of brass H6523 , of iron H636 , of wood H69 , and of stone.

5 H8160 In the same hour H5312 [H8754] came forth H677 fingers H606 of a man's H3028 hand H3790 [H8751] , and wrote H6903 opposite H5043 the lampstand H5922 upon H1528 the plaster H3797 of the wall H4430 of the king's H1965 palace H4430 : and the king H2370 [H8751] saw H6447 the part H3028 of the hand H3790 [H8751] that wrote.

6 H116 Then H4430 the king's H2122 countenance H8133 [H8754] was changed H7476 , and his thoughts H927 [H8792] troubled H7001 him, so that the joints H2783 of his loins H8271 [H8723] were loosed H755 , and his knees H5368 [H8750] smote H1668 one H1668 against another.

7 H4430 The king H7123 [H8748] cried H2429 aloud H5954 [H8682] to bring H826 in the astrologers H3779 , the Chaldeans H1505 [H8750] , and the soothsayers H4430 . And the king H6032 [H8750] spoke H560 [H8750] , and said H2445 to the wise H895 men of Babylon H606 H3606 , Whoever H7123 [H8751] shall read H1836 this H3792 writing H2324 [H8741] , and show H6591 me the interpretation H3848 [H8748] of it, shall be clothed H711 with scarlet H2002 , and have a chain H1722 of gold H5922 about H6676 his neck H8523 , and shall be the third H7981 [H8748] ruler H4437 in the kingdom.

8 H116 Then H5954 [H8750] came H3606 in all H4430 the king's H2445 wise H3546 [H8751] men: but they could H3809 not H7123 [H8749] read H3792 the writing H3046 [H8682] , nor make known H4430 to the king H6591 the interpretation of it.

9 H116 Then H4430 was the king H1113 Belshazzar H7690 greatly H927 [H8727] troubled H2122 , and his countenance H8133 [H8750] was changed H5922 in him H7261 , and his lords H7672 [H8723] were confused.

10 H4433 Now the queen H6903 , by reason H4406 of the words H4430 of the king H7261 and his lords H5954 [H8754] , came H4961 into the banquet H1005 house H4433 : and the queen H6032 [H8754] spoke H560 [H8754] and said H4430 , O king H2418 [H8747] , live H5957 for ever H409 : let not H7476 thy thoughts H927 [H8792] trouble H2122 thee, nor let thy countenance H8133 [H8721] be changed:

11 H383 There is H1400 a man H4437 in thy kingdom H7308 , in whom is the spirit H6922 of the holy H426 gods H3118 ; and in the days H2 of thy father H5094 light H7924 and understanding H2452 and wisdom H2452 , like the wisdom H426 of the gods H7912 [H8728] , was found H4430 in him; whom the king H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H2 thy father H4430 , the king H2 , I say, thy father H6966 [H8684] , made H7229 master H2749 of the magicians H826 , astrologers H3779 , Chaldeans H1505 [H8750] , and soothsayers;

12 H6903 H3606 Forasmuch as H3493 an excellent H7308 spirit H4486 , and knowledge H7924 , and understanding H6590 [H8743] , the interpreting H2493 of dreams H263 , and declaring H280 of hard sentences H8271 [H8743] , and dissolving H7001 of doubts H7912 [H8728] , were found H1841 in the same Daniel H4430 , whom the king H7761 H8036 [H8754] named H1096 Belteshazzar H3705 : now H1841 let Daniel H7123 [H8729] be called H2324 [H8681] , and he will show H6591 the interpretation.

13 H116 Then H1841 was Daniel H5954 [H8717] brought in H6925 before H4430 the king H4430 . And the king H6032 [H8750] spoke H560 [H8750] and said H1841 to Daniel H607 , Art thou H1841 that Daniel H4481 , who art of H1123 the children H1547 of the captivity H3061 of Judah H4430 , whom the king H2 my father H858 [H8684] brought H4481 out of H3061 Judah?

14 H8086 [H8754] I have even heard H7308 of thee, that the spirit H426 of the gods H5922 is in thee H5094 , and that light H7924 and understanding H3493 and excellent H2452 wisdom H7912 [H8728] is found in thee.

15 H3705 And now H2445 the wise H826 men, the astrologers H5954 [H8717] , have been brought H6925 in before H7123 [H8748] me, that they should read H1836 this H3792 writing H3046 [H8682] , and make known H6591 to me the interpretation H3546 [H8751] of it: but they could H3809 not H2324 [H8682] show H6591 the interpretation H4406 of the thing:

17 H116 Then H1841 Daniel H6032 [H8750] answered H560 [H8750] and said H6925 before H4430 the king H4978 , Let thy gifts H1934 [H8748] be H3052 [H8747] to thyself, and give H5023 thy rewards H321 to another H1297 ; yet H7123 [H8748] I will read H3792 the writing H4430 to the king H3046 [H8681] , and make known H6591 to him the interpretation.

18 H607 O thou H4430 king H5943 , the most high H426 God H3052 [H8754] gave H5020 Nebuchadnezzar H2 thy father H4437 a kingdom H7238 , and majesty H3367 , and glory H1923 , and honour:

19 H4481 And for H7238 the majesty H3052 [H8754] that he gave H3606 him, all H5972 people H524 , nations H3961 , and languages H1934 H2112 [H8754] , trembled H1763 [H8751] and feared H4481 before H6925 him H1934 H6634 [H8754] : whom he would H1934 H6992 [H8754] he slew H1934 H6634 [H8754] ; and whom he would H1934 H2418 [H8754] he kept alive H1934 H6634 [H8754] ; and whom he would H1934 H7313 [H8754] he set up H1934 H6634 [H8754] ; and whom he would H1934 H8214 [H8754] he put down.

20 H3825 But when his heart H7313 [H8752] was lifted up H7308 , and his mind H8631 [H8748] hardened H2103 [H8682] in pride H5182 [H8717] , he was deposed H4481 from H4437 his kingly H3764 throne H5709 [H8684] , and they took H3367 his glory H4481 from him:

24 H116 Then H6447 was the part H3028 of the hand H7972 [H8750] sent H4481 from H6925 him H1836 ; and this H3792 writing H7560 [H8752] was written.

25 H1836 And this H3792 is the writing H7560 [H8752] that was written H4484 [H8752] , MENE H4484 [H8752] , MENE H8625 [H8752] , TEKEL H6537 [H8751] , UPHARSIN.

26 H1836 This H6591 is the interpretation H4406 of the thing H4484 [H8752] : MENE H426 ; God H4483 [H8754] hath numbered H4437 thy kingdom H8000 [H8684] , and finished it.

27 H8625 [H8752] TEKEL H8625 [H8760] ; Thou art weighed H3977 in the balances H7912 [H8728] , and art found H2627 wanting.

28 H6537 [H8752] PERES H4437 ; Thy kingdom H6537 [H8752] is divided H3052 [H8753] , and given H4076 to the Medes H6540 and Persians.

29 H116 Then H560 [H8754] commanded H1113 Belshazzar H3848 [H8684] , and they clothed H1841 Daniel H711 with scarlet H2002 , and put a chain H1722 of gold H5922 about H6676 his neck H3745 [H8684] , and made a proclamation H5922 concerning H1934 [H8748] him, that he should be H8531 the third H7990 ruler H4437 in the kingdom.

30 H3916 In that night H1113 was Belshazzar H4430 the king H3779 of the Chaldeans H6992 [H8752] slain.

31 H1868 And Darius H4077 the Median H6902 [H8745] took H4437 the kingdom H8361 , being about sixty H8648 and two H8140 years H1247 old.
