Deuteronomy 21 If one be found slain in the land which Yahweh your God gives you to possess it, lying in the field, and it isn't known who has struck him;

1 H4672 If one be found H2491 slain H127 in the land H3068 which Yahweh H430 your God H5414 gives H3423 you to possess H5307 it, lying H7704 in the field, H3045 and it isn't known H5221 who has struck him;

2 H2205 then your elders H8199 and your judges H3318 shall come forth, H4058 and they shall measure H5892 to the cities H5439 which are around H2491 him who is slain:

3 H5892 and it shall be, that the city H7138 which is nearest H2491 to the slain man, H2205 even the elders H5892 of that city H3947 shall take H1241 a heifer H5647 of the herd, which hasn't been worked with, H4900 and which has not drawn H5923 in the yoke;

4 H2205 and the elders H5892 of that city H3381 shall bring down H5697 the heifer H386 to a H5158 valley H5647 with running water, which is neither plowed H2232 nor sown, H6202 and shall break H5697 the heifer's H6202 neck H5158 there in the valley.

5 H3548 The priests H1121 the sons H3878 of Levi H5066 shall come near; H3068 for them Yahweh H430 your God H977 has chosen H8334 to minister H1288 to him, and to bless H8034 in the name H3068 of Yahweh; H6310 and according to their word H7379 shall every controversy H5061 and every stroke be.

6 H2205 All the elders H5892 of that city, H7138 who are nearest H2491 to the slain H7364 man, shall wash H3027 their hands H5697 over the heifer H6202 whose neck was broken H5158 in the valley;

7 H6030 and they shall answer H559 and say, H3027 "Our hands H8210 have not shed H1818 this blood, H5869 neither have our eyes H7200 seen it.

8 H3722 Forgive, H3068 Yahweh, H5971 your people H3478 Israel, H6299 whom you have redeemed, H5414 and don't allow H5355 innocent H1818 blood H7130 in the midst H5971 of your people H3478 Israel." H1818 The blood H3722 shall be forgiven them.

9 H1197 So you shall put away H5355 the innocent H1818 blood H7130 from the midst H6213 of you, when you shall do H3477 that which is right H5869 in the eyes H3068 of Yahweh.

10 H3318 When you go forth H4421 to battle H341 against your enemies, H3068 and Yahweh H430 your God H5414 delivers H3027 them into your hands, H7617 and you carry H7628 them away captive,

11 H7200 and see H7633 among the captives H8389 a beautiful H802 woman, H2836 and you have a desire H3947 to her, and would take her H802 to you as wife;

12 H935 then you shall bring H8432 her home H1004 to your house; H1548 and she shall shave H7218 her head, H6213 and pare H6856 her nails;

13 H5493 and she shall put H8071 the clothing H7628 of her captivity H3427 from off her, and shall remain H1004 in your house, H1058 and bewail H1 her father H517 and her mother H3117 a full H3391 month: H310 and after H935 that you shall go H1166 in to her, and be her husband, H802 and she shall be your wife.

14 H2654 It shall be, if you have no delight H7971 in her, then you shall let her go H5315 where she will; H4376 but you shall not sell H4376 her at all H3701 for money, H6014 you shall not deal H834 with her as a slave, because H6031 you have humbled her.

15 H376 If a man H8147 have two H802 wives, H259 the one H157 beloved, H259 and the other H8130 hated, H3205 and they have borne H1121 him children, H157 both the beloved H8130 and the hated; H1060 and if the firstborn H1121 son H8146 be hers who was hated;

16 H3117 then it shall be, in the day H1121 that he causes his sons H5157 to inherit H3201 that which he has, that he may H1121 not make the son H157 of the beloved H1069 the firstborn H6440 before H1121 the son H8130 of the hated, H1060 who is the firstborn:

17 H5234 but he shall acknowledge H1060 the firstborn, H1121 the son H8130 of the hated, H5414 by giving H8147 him a double H6310 portion H4672 of all that he has; H7225 for he is the beginning H202 of his strength; H4941 the right H1062 of the firstborn is his.

18 H376 If a man H5637 have a stubborn H4784 and rebellious H1121 son, H8085 who will not obey H6963 the voice H1 of his father, H6963 or the voice H517 of his mother, H3256 and, though they chasten H8085 him, will not listen to them;

19 H1 then shall his father H517 and his mother H8610 lay hold H3318 on him, and bring him out H2205 to the elders H5892 of his city, H8179 and to the gate H4725 of his place;

20 H559 and they shall tell H2205 the elders H5892 of his city, H1121 "This our son H5637 is stubborn H4784 and rebellious, H8085 he will not obey H6963 our voice; H2151 he is a glutton, H5433 and a drunkard."

21 H582 All the men H5892 of his city H7275 shall stone H4191 him to death H7275 with stones: H1197 so you shall put H1197 away H7451 the evil H7130 from the midst H3478 of you; and all Israel H8085 shall hear, H3372 and fear.

22 H376 If a man H2399 have committed a sin H4941 worthy of H4194 death, H4194 and he be put to death, H8518 and you hang H6086 him on a tree;

23 H5038 his body H3885 shall not remain all night H6086 on the tree, H6912 but you shall surely H6912 bury H3117 him the same day; H8518 for he who is hanged H7045 is accursed H430 of God; H2930 that you don't defile H127 your land H3068 which Yahweh H430 your God H5414 gives H5159 you for an inheritance.
