Matthew(i) 1 And the Lord spake vnto Moses sayinge: 2 commaunde the chyldren of Israel that they put out of the host, al the leapers & all that haue yssues and al that are defyled vpon the dead, 3 whether they be males or females ye shall put them oute of the hoste, that they defyle not the tentes among whych ye dwell. 4 And the chyldren of Israel dyd so, and put them oute of the hoste euen as the Lorde commaunded Moses, so dyd the chyldren of Israell. 5 And the Lord spake vnto Moses saying: 6 speake vnto the chyldren of Israell: whether it be man or woman, when they haue synned any maner of sinne which a man doeth where wyth a man trespaseth agaynst the Lord, so that the soule hath done amysse: 7 then they shall knowledge their synnes whyche they haue done, and restore agayn the hurte that they haue done in the whole, and put the fyft parte of it moare thereto, and geue it vnto hym whom he hath trespased agaynst. 8 But and yf he that maketh the amendes haue no man to do it to, then the amendes that is made shalbe the Lordes and the Preastes, besyde the ram of the attonement offeryng, wherwith he maketh an atttonement for him self. 9 And al heaue offerynges of all the halowed thynges which the chyldren of Israel bryng vnto the preaste, shalbe the preastes, 10 & euery mans halowed thynges shalbe hys awne, but what soeuer any man geueth the preast, it shalbe the preastes. 11 And the Lorde spake vnto Moses saying: 12 Speake vnto the chyldren of Israell, and saye vnto them. If any mans wyfe go asyde and trespase agaynste hym, 13 so that another man lye with her fleshely and the thynge behyd from the eyes of her husbande and is not come to light that she is defyled (for ther is no wytnesse agaynst her) in as moche as she was not taken wyth the maner, 14 and the sprete of yelousy cometh vpon him and he is ielouse ouer hys wyfe and she defyled, or happely the sprete of ielousye cometh vpon him, and he is ielouse ouer hys wyfe and she yet vndefyled. 15 Then let her husband brynge her vnto the Preast and brynge an offeryng for her: the tenthe parte of an Epha of barly meele, but shall poure none oyle thereunto, nor put franckencens theron: for it is an offeryng of ielousye, and an offerynge that maketh remembraunce of synne. 16 And let the preast brynge her and sett her before the Lord, 17 and let him take holy water in an erthen vessel & of the dust that is in the floore of the habitacyon, and put it in to the water. 18 And the preast shal set the wife before the Lorde and vncouer her head, and put the memorial of the offering in her handes whiche is the ielousye offeryng, & the preast shal haue bytter and cursyng water in hys hand, and he shal coniure her & shal saye vnto her. 19 If no man haue lyen wyth the nether haste gone asyde, and defyled thy selfe behynd thy husbande, then haue thou no harme of thys bytter cursyng water. 20 But and yf thou hast gone asyde behynde thyne husband and art defyled & some other man hath lyen with the besyde thyne husband 21 (and let the preast coniure her wyth the coniuracion of the curse & say vnto her) the Lord make the a curse and a coniuracion amonge thy people: so that the Lord make thy thygh rotte, and thy bely swel 22 in this bitter cursing water goo in to the bowels of the, that thy bely swel and thy thygh rotte, and the wyfe shal say Amen Amen. 23 And the preast shal wrytte thys curse in a byl and washe it out in the bitter water. 24 And when the cursynge water is in her that it is bytter, 25 then let the preast take the ielousyeofferyng out of the wyfes hand, & waue it before the Lord, and bring it vnto the alter: 26 and he shal take an handeful of the memorial offeryng and burne it vpon the alter, and then make her drynke the water 27 and when he hath made her drynke the water. If she be defyled and haue trespased agaynst her husband, then shal the cursyng water go in to her and be so bytter, that her bely shal swell and her thygh shall rotte, & she shalbe a curse among her people. 28 And yf she be not defyled but is cleane, then she shal haue no harme, but that she may conceyue. 29 This is the lawe of ielousye, when a wife goeth asyde behynde her husband and is defyled, 30 or when the spirite of ielousye cometh vpon a man, so that he is ielouse ouer hys wyfe then he shal bryng her before the Lorde, and the Preast shall ministre all thys lawe vnto her, 31 and the man shalbe giltlesse, and the wyfe shal beare her synne.
