Matthew(i)
16 And at that same tyme kynge Ahaz sent vnto the kynges of Assur to haue helpe.
17 And the Edomites came yet agayne and slue of Iuda and caryed awaye some captyues.
18 And the Philistines inuaded the cities in the lowe countreye and the south of Iuda: and toke Bethsames, Aialon, Gaderoth and Socoh with the townes longynge therto, & Thimna with the townes of the same, & Gimso wyth her townes, and dwelt therin.
19 For the Lorde brought Iuda lowe, because of Ahaz kynge of Iuda which made Iuda naked and transgressed agaynst the Lorde.
20 And Thiglath palneser kynge of Assur came vpon hym and beseged hym, but preuayled not agaynst him.
21 For Ahaz toke awaye out of the house of the Lorde and out of the kynges house and out of the Lordes houses, and gaue vnto the kyng of Assur, though yt holpe him not.
22 And therto in the very tyme of hys tribulacion dyd kynge Ahaz trespace yet moare agaynst the Lorde.
