LITV⁽ⁱ⁾ ¹⁹ Then the high priest questioned Jesus about His disciples and about His doctrine. ²⁰ Jesus answered him, I publicly spoke to the world; I always taught in the synagogue and in the temple where the Jews always come together, and I spoke nothing in secret. ²¹ Why do you question Me? Question those hearing what I spoke to them: behold, these know what I said! ²² But on His having said these things, one of the under-officers standing by gave Jesus a blow with the palm, saying, Do you answer the high priest this way? ²³ Jesus answered him, If I spoke evilly, bear witness concerning the evil; but if well, why do you strike Me?
