Numbers 27 Then came the daughters of Zelophehad , the son of Hepher , the son of Gilead , the son of Machir , the son of Manasseh , of the families of Manasseh the son of Joseph : and these are the names of his daughters ; Mahlah , Noah , and Hoglah , and Milcah , and Tirzah.

2 H5975 And they stood [H8799] H6440 before H4872 Moses H6440 , and before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest H6440 , and before H5387 the princes H5712 and all the congregation H6607 , by the door H168 of the tabernacle H4150 of the congregation H559 , saying [H8800] ,

3 H1 Our father H4191 died [H8804] H4057 in the wilderness H8432 , and he was not in H5712 the company H3259 of them that gathered themselves together [H8737] H3068 against the LORD H5712 in the company H7141 of Korah H4191 ; but died [H8804] H2399 in his own sin H1121 , and had no sons.

4 H8034 Why should the name H1 of our father H1639 be done away [H8735] H8432 from among H4940 his family H1121 , because he hath no son H5414 ? Give [H8798] H272 unto us therefore a possession H8432 among H251 the brethren H1 of our father.

5 H4872 And Moses H7126 brought [H8686] H4941 their cause H6440 before H3068 the LORD.

6 H3068 And the LORD H559 spake [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H559 , saying [H8800] ,

7 H1323 The daughters H6765 of Zelophehad H1696 speak [H8802] H3651 right H5414 : thou shalt surely [H8800] H5414 give [H8799] H272 them a possession H5159 of an inheritance H8432 among H1 their father's H251 brethren H5159 ; and thou shalt cause the inheritance H1 of their father H5674 to pass [H8689] unto them.

8 H1696 And thou shalt speak [H8762] H1121 unto the children H3478 of Israel H559 , saying [H8800] H376 , If a man H4191 die [H8799] H1121 , and have no son H5159 , then ye shall cause his inheritance H5674 to pass [H8689] H1323 unto his daughter.

9 H1323 And if he have no daughter H5414 , then ye shall give [H8804] H5159 his inheritance H251 unto his brethren.

10 H251 And if he have no brethren H5414 , then ye shall give [H8804] H5159 his inheritance H1 unto his father's H251 brethren.

11 H1 And if his father H251 have no brethren H5414 , then ye shall give [H8804] H5159 his inheritance H7607 unto his kinsman H7138 that is next H4940 to him of his family H3423 , and he shall possess [H8804] H1121 it: and it shall be unto the children H3478 of Israel H2708 a statute H4941 of judgment H3068 , as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H4872 Moses.

12 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H5927 , Get thee up [H8798] H2022 into this mount H5682 Abarim H7200 , and see [H8798] H776 the land H5414 which I have given [H8804] H1121 unto the children H3478 of Israel.

13 H7200 And when thou hast seen [H8804] H622 it, thou also shalt be gathered [H8738] H5971 unto thy people H175 , as Aaron H251 thy brother H622 was gathered [H8738] .

14 H4784 For ye rebelled [H8804] H6310 against my commandment H4057 in the desert H6790 of Zin H4808 , in the strife H5712 of the congregation H6942 , to sanctify [H8687] H4325 me at the water H5869 before their eyes H4325 : that is the water H4809 of Meribah H6946 in Kadesh H4057 in the wilderness H6790 of Zin.

15 H4872 And Moses H1696 spake [H8762] H3068 unto the LORD H559 , saying [H8800] ,

16 H3068 Let the LORD H430 , the God H7307 of the spirits H1320 of all flesh H6485 , set [H8799] H376 a man H5712 over the congregation,

17 H3318 Which may go out [H8799] H6440 before H935 them, and which may go in [H8799] H6440 before H3318 them, and which may lead them out [H8686] H935 , and which may bring them in [H8686] H5712 ; that the congregation H3068 of the LORD H6629 be not as sheep H7462 which have no shepherd [H8802] .

18 H3068 And the LORD H559 said [H8799] H4872 unto Moses H3947 , Take [H8798] H3091 thee Joshua H1121 the son H5126 of Nun H376 , a man H7307 in whom is the spirit H5564 , and lay [H8804] H3027 thine hand upon him;

19 H5975 And set [H8689] H6440 him before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest H6440 , and before H5712 all the congregation H6680 ; and give him a charge [H8765] H5869 in their sight.

20 H5414 And thou shalt put [H8804] H1935 some of thine honour H5712 upon him, that all the congregation H1121 of the children H3478 of Israel H8085 may be obedient [H8799] .

21 H5975 And he shall stand [H8799] H6440 before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest H7592 , who shall ask [H8804] H4941 counsel for him after the judgment H224 of Urim H6440 before H3068 the LORD H6310 : at his word H3318 shall they go out [H8799] H6310 , and at his word H935 they shall come in [H8799] H1121 , both he, and all the children H3478 of Israel H5712 with him, even all the congregation.

22 H4872 And Moses H6213 did [H8799] H3068 as the LORD H6680 commanded [H8765] H3947 him: and he took [H8799] H3091 Joshua H5975 , and set [H8686] H6440 him before H499 Eleazar H3548 the priest H6440 , and before H5712 all the congregation:

23 H5564 And he laid [H8799] H3027 his hands H6680 upon him, and gave him a charge [H8762] H3068 , as the LORD H1696 commanded [H8765] H3027 by the hand H4872 of Moses.
