Joshua 3 And Joshua rose early in the morning ; and they removed from Shittim , and came to Jordan , he and all the children of Israel , and lodged there before they passed over .

2 H7097 And it came to pass after H7969 three H3117 days H7860 , that the officers [H8802] H5674 went [H8799] H7130 through H4264 the host;

3 H6680 And they commanded [H8762] H5971 the people H559 , saying [H8800] H7200 , When ye see [H8800] H727 the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H430 your God H3548 , and the priests H3881 the Levites H5375 bearing [H8802] H5265 it, then ye shall remove [H8799] H4725 from your place H1980 , and go [H8804] H310 after it.

4 H7350 Yet there shall be a space H505 between you and it, about two thousand H520 cubits H4060 by measure H7126 : come not near [H8799] H3045 unto it, that ye may know [H8799] H1870 the way H3212 by which ye must go [H8799] H5674 : for ye have not passed [H8804] H1870 this way H8543 heretofore H8032 .

5 H3091 And Joshua H559 said [H8799] H5971 unto the people H6942 , Sanctify [H8690] H4279 yourselves: for to morrow H3068 the LORD H6213 will do [H8799] H6381 wonders [H8737] H7130 among you.

10 H3091 And Joshua H559 said [H8799] H3045 , Hereby ye shall know [H8799] H2416 that the living H410 God H7130 is among H3423 you, and that he will without fail [H8687] H3423 drive out [H8686] H6440 from before H3669 you the Canaanites H2850 , and the Hittites H2340 , and the Hivites H6522 , and the Perizzites H1622 , and the Girgashites H567 , and the Amorites H2983 , and the Jebusites.

11 H727 Behold, the ark H1285 of the covenant H113 of the Lord H776 of all the earth H5674 passeth over [H8802] H6440 before H3383 you into Jordan.

12 H3947 Now therefore take [H8798] H8147 you twelve H6240 H376 men H7626 out of the tribes H3478 of Israel H259 , out of every H7626 tribe H376 a man.

13 H3709 And it shall come to pass, as soon as the soles H7272 of the feet H3548 of the priests H5375 that bear [H8802] H727 the ark H3068 of the LORD H113 , the Lord H776 of all the earth H5117 , shall rest [H8800] H4325 in the waters H3383 of Jordan H4325 , that the waters H3383 of Jordan H3772 shall be cut off [H8735] H4325 from the waters H3381 that come down [H8802] H4605 from above H5975 ; and they shall stand [H8799] H259 upon an H5067 heap.

14 H5971 And it came to pass, when the people H5265 removed [H8800] H168 from their tents H5674 , to pass over [H8800] H3383 Jordan H3548 , and the priests H5375 bearing [H8802] H727 the ark H1285 of the covenant H6440 before H5971 the people;

15 H5375 And as they that bare [H8802] H727 the ark H935 were come [H8800] H3383 unto Jordan H7272 , and the feet H3548 of the priests H5375 that bare [H8802] H727 the ark H2881 were dipped [H8738] H7097 in the brim H4325 of the water H3383 , (for Jordan H4390 overfloweth [H8804] H1415 all his banks H3117 all the time H7105 of harvest,)

16 H4325 That the waters H3381 which came down [H8802] H4605 from above H5975 stood [H8799] H6965 and rose up [H8804] H259 upon an H5067 heap H3966 very H7368 far [H8687] H5892 from the city H121 Adam H6654 , that is beside H6891 Zaretan H3381 : and those that came down [H8802] H3220 toward the sea H6160 of the plain H4417 , even the salt H3220 sea H8552 , failed [H8804] H3772 , and were cut off [H8738] H5971 : and the people H5674 passed over [H8804] H3405 right against Jericho.

17 H3548 And the priests H5375 that bare [H8802] H727 the ark H1285 of the covenant H3068 of the LORD H5975 stood [H8799] H3559 firm [H8687] H2724 on dry ground H8432 in the midst H3383 of Jordan H3478 , and all the Israelites H5674 passed over [H8802] H2724 on dry ground H1471 , until all the people H5674 were passed H8552 clean [H8804] H5674 over [H8800] H3383 Jordan.
