Isaiah 7 And it came to pass in the days of Ahaz the son of Jotham , the son of Uzziah , king of Judah , that Rezin the king of Syria , and Pekah the son of Remaliah , king of Israel , went up toward Jerusalem to war against it, but could not prevail against it.

2 H5046 And it was told [H8714] H1004 the house H1732 of David H559 , saying [H8800] H758 , Syria H5117 is confederate [H8804] H669 with Ephraim H3824 . And his heart H5128 was moved [H8799] H3824 , and the heart H5971 of his people H6086 , as the trees H3293 of the wood H5128 are moved [H8800] H6440 with H7307 the wind.

3 H559 Then said [H8799] H3068 the LORD H3470 unto Isaiah H3318 , Go forth [H8798] H7125 now to meet [H8800] H271 Ahaz H7610 , thou, and Shearjashub H1121 thy son H7097 , at the end H8585 of the conduit H5945 of the upper H1295 pool H4546 in the highway H3526 of the fuller's [H8801] H7704 field;

4 H559 And say [H8804] H8104 unto him, Take heed [H8734] H8252 , and be quiet [H8685] H3372 ; fear [H8799] H7401 not, neither be fainthearted [H8735] H3824 H8147 for the two H2180 tails H6226 of these smoking H181 firebrands H2750 , for the fierce H639 anger H7526 of Rezin H758 with Syria H1121 , and of the son H7425 of Remaliah.

5 H758 Because Syria H669 , Ephraim H1121 , and the son H7425 of Remaliah H7451 , have taken evil H3289 counsel [H8804] H559 against thee, saying [H8800] ,

6 H5927 Let us go up [H8799] H3063 against Judah H6973 , and vex [H8686] H1234 it, and let us make a breach [H8686] H4427 therein for us, and set [H8686] H4428 a king H8432 in the midst H1121 of it, even the son H2870 of Tabeal:

7 H3541 Thus H559 saith [H8804] H136 the Lord H3069 GOD H6965 , It shall not stand [H8799] , neither shall it come to pass.

8 H7218 For the head H758 of Syria H1834 is Damascus H7218 , and the head H1834 of Damascus H7526 is Rezin H8346 ; and within threescore H2568 and five H8141 years H669 shall Ephraim H2865 be broken [H8735] H5971 , that it be not a people.

9 H7218 And the head H669 of Ephraim H8111 is Samaria H7218 , and the head H8111 of Samaria H7425 is Remaliah's H1121 son H539 . If ye will not believe [H8686] H539 , surely ye shall not be established [H8735] .

10 H3068 Moreover the LORD H1696 spake [H8763] H3254 again [H8686] H271 unto Ahaz H559 , saying [H8800] ,

11 H7592 Ask [H8798] H226 thee a sign H3068 of the LORD H430 thy God H7592 ; ask [H8800] H6009 it either in the depth [H8685] H1361 , or in the height [H8687] H4605 above.

12 H271 But Ahaz H559 said [H8799] H7592 , I will not ask [H8799] H5254 , neither will I tempt [H8762] H853 H3068 the LORD.

13 H559 And he said [H8799] H8085 , Hear [H8798] H1004 ye now, O house H1732 of David H4592 ; Is it a small thing H3811 for you to weary [H8687] H582 men H3811 , but will ye weary [H8686] H430 my God also?

14 H136 Therefore the Lord H5414 himself shall give [H8799] H226 you a sign H5959 ; Behold, a virgin H2030 shall conceive H3205 , and bear [H8802] H1121 a son H7121 , and shall call [H8804] H8034 his name H6005 Immanuel H410 .

15 H2529 Butter H1706 and honey H398 shall he eat [H8799] H3045 , that he may know [H8800] H3988 to refuse [H8800] H7451 the evil H977 , and choose [H8800] H2896 the good.

18 H3117 And it shall come to pass in that day H3068 , that the LORD H8319 shall hiss [H8799] H2070 for the fly H7097 that is in the uttermost part H2975 of the rivers H4714 of Egypt H1682 , and for the bee H776 that is in the land H804 of Assyria.

19 H935 And they shall come [H8804] H5117 , and shall rest [H8804] H1327 all of them in the desolate H5158 valleys H5357 , and in the holes H5553 of the rocks H5285 , and upon all thorns H5097 , and upon all bushes.

20 H3117 In the same day H136 shall the Lord H1548 shave [H8762] H8593 with a razor H7917 that is hired H5676 , namely, by them beyond H5104 the river H4428 , by the king H804 of Assyria H7218 , the head H8181 , and the hair H7272 of the feet H5595 : and it shall also consume [H8799] H2206 the beard.

21 H3117 And it shall come to pass in that day H376 , that a man H2421 shall nourish [H8762] H1241 a young H5697 cow H8147 , and two H6629 sheep;

22 H7230 And it shall come to pass, for the abundance H2461 of milk H6213 that they shall give [H8800] H398 he shall eat [H8799] H2529 butter H2529 : for butter H1706 and honey H398 shall every one eat [H8799] H3498 that is left [H8737] H7130 in H776 the land.

23 H3117 And it shall come to pass in that day H4725 , that every place H505 shall be, where there were a thousand H1612 vines H505 at a thousand H3701 silverlings H8068 , it shall even be for briers H7898 and thorns.

24 H2671 With arrows H7198 and with bows H935 shall men come [H8799] H776 thither; because all the land H8068 shall become briers H7898 and thorns.

25 H2022 And on all hills H5737 that shall be digged [H8735] H4576 with the mattock H935 , there shall not come thither [H8799] H3374 the fear H8068 of briers H7898 and thorns H4916 : but it shall be for the sending forth H7794 of oxen H4823 , and for the treading H7716 of lesser cattle.
