Haggai In the second year of Darius the king , in the sixth month , in the first day of the month , came the word of the LORD by Haggai the prophet unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel , governor of Judah , and to Joshua the son of Josedech , the high priest , saying ,

2 H559 Thus speaketh [H8804] H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts H559 , saying [H8800] H5971 , This people H559 say [H8804] H6256 , The time H935 is not come [H8800] H6256 , the time H3068 that the LORD'S H1004 house H1129 should be built [H8736] .

3 H1697 Then came the word H3068 of the LORD H3027 by H2292 Haggai H5030 the prophet H559 , saying [H8800] ,

4 H6256 Is it time H3427 for you, O ye, to dwell [H8800] H5603 in your cieled [H8803] H1004 houses H1004 , and this house H2720 lie waste?

5 H559 Now therefore thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts H7760 ; Consider [H8798] H3824 H1870 your ways.

6 H2232 Ye have sown [H8804] H7235 much [H8687] H935 , and bring [H8687] H4592 in little H398 ; ye eat [H8800] H7654 , but ye have not enough H8354 ; ye drink [H8800] H7937 , but ye are not filled with drink [H8800] H3847 ; ye clothe [H8800] H2527 you, but there is none warm H7936 ; and he that earneth wages [H8693] H7936 earneth wages [H8693] H6872 to put it into a bag H5344 with holes [H8803] .

7 H559 Thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H6635 of hosts H7760 ; Consider [H8798] H3824 H1870 your ways.

8 H5927 Go up [H8798] H2022 to the mountain H935 , and bring [H8689] H6086 wood H1129 , and build [H8798] H1004 the house H7521 ; and I will take pleasure [H8799] H3513 in it, and I will be glorified [H8735] H559 , saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD.

9 H6437 Ye looked [H8800] H7235 for much [H8687] H4592 , and, lo, it came to little H935 ; and when ye brought [H8689] H1004 it home H5301 , I did blow [H8804] H5002 upon it. 12 H2216 Then Zerubbabel H1121 the son H7597 of Shealtiel H3091 , and Joshua H1121 the son H3087 of Josedech H1419 , the high H3548 priest H7611 , with all the remnant H5971 of the people H8085 , obeyed [H8799] H6963 the voice H3068 of the LORD H430 their God H1697 , and the words H2292 of Haggai H5030 the prophet H3068 , as the LORD H430 their God H7971 had sent [H8804] H5971 him, and the people H3372 did fear [H8799] H6440 before H3068 the LORD.

13 H559 Then spake [H8799] H2292 Haggai H3068 the LORD'S H4397 messenger H3068 in the LORD'S H4400 message H5971 unto the people H559 , saying [H8800] H5002 , I am with you, saith [H8803] H3068 the LORD.
