2 Kings 5 Now Naaman , captain of the host of the king of Syria , was a great man with his master , and honourable , because by him the LORD had given deliverance unto Syria : he was also a mighty man in valour , but he was a leper .

2 H758 And the Syrians H3318 had gone out [H8804] H1416 by companies H7617 , and had brought away captive [H8799] H776 out of the land H3478 of Israel H6996 a little H5291 maid H6440 ; and she waited on H5283 Naaman's H802 wife.

3 H559 And she said [H8799] H1404 unto her mistress H305 , Would H113 God my lord H6440 were with H5030 the prophet H8111 that is in Samaria H227 ! for H622 he would recover [H8799] H6883 him of his leprosy.

4 H935 And one went in [H8799] H5046 , and told [H8686] H113 his lord H559 , saying [H8800] H1696 , Thus and thus said [H8765] H5291 the maid H776 that is of the land H3478 of Israel.

5 H4428 And the king H758 of Syria H559 said [H8799] H3212 , Go to [H8798] H935 , go [H8798] H7971 , and I will send [H8799] H5612 a letter H4428 unto the king H3478 of Israel H3212 . And he departed [H8799] H3947 , and took [H8799] H3027 with him H6235 ten H3603 talents H3701 of silver H8337 , and six H505 thousand H2091 pieces of gold H6235 , and ten H2487 changes H899 of raiment.

6 H935 And he brought [H8686] H5612 the letter H4428 to the king H3478 of Israel H559 , saying [H8800] H5612 , Now when this letter H935 is come [H8800] H7971 unto thee, behold, I have therewith sent [H8804] H5283 Naaman H5650 my servant H622 to thee, that thou mayest recover [H8804] H6883 him of his leprosy.

7 H4428 And it came to pass, when the king H3478 of Israel H7121 had read [H8800] H5612 the letter H7167 , that he rent [H8799] H899 his clothes H559 , and said [H8799] H430 , Am I God H4191 , to kill [H8687] H2421 and to make alive [H8687] H2088 , that this man H7971 doth send [H8802] H622 unto me to recover [H8800] H376 a man H6883 of his leprosy H389 ? wherefore H3045 consider [H8798] H7200 , I pray you, and see [H8798] H579 how he seeketh a quarrel [H8693] against me.

8 H477 And it was so, when Elisha H376 the man H430 of God H8085 had heard [H8800] H4428 that the king H3478 of Israel H7167 had rent [H8804] H899 his clothes H7971 , that he sent [H8799] H4428 to the king H559 , saying [H8800] H7167 , Wherefore hast thou rent [H8804] H899 thy clothes H935 ? let him come [H8799] H3045 now to me, and he shall know [H8799] H3426 that there is H5030 a prophet H3478 in Israel.

9 H5283 So Naaman H935 came [H8799] H5483 with his horses H7393 and with his chariot H5975 , and stood [H8799] H6607 at the door H1004 of the house H477 of Elisha.

10 H477 And Elisha H7971 sent [H8799] H4397 a messenger H559 unto him, saying [H8800] H1980 , Go [H8800] H7364 and wash [H8804] H3383 in Jordan H7651 seven H6471 times H1320 , and thy flesh H7725 shall come again [H8799] H2891 to thee, and thou shalt be clean [H8798] .

11 H5283 But Naaman H7107 was wroth [H8799] H3212 , and went away [H8799] H559 , and said [H8799] H559 , Behold, I thought [H8804] H3318 , He will surely [H8800] H3318 come out [H8799] H5975 to me, and stand [H8804] H7121 , and call [H8804] H8034 on the name H3068 of the LORD H430 his God H5130 , and strike [H8689] H3027 his hand H4725 over the place H622 , and recover [H8804] H6879 the leper [H8794] .

12 H71 Are not Abana [H8676] H549 H6554 and Pharpar H5104 , rivers H1834 of Damascus H2896 , better H4325 than all the waters H3478 of Israel H7364 ? may I not wash [H8799] H2891 in them, and be clean [H8804] H6437 ? So he turned [H8799] H3212 and went away [H8799] H2534 in a rage.

13 H5650 And his servants H5066 came near [H8799] H1696 , and spake [H8762] H559 unto him, and said [H8799] H1 , My father H5030 , if the prophet H1696 had bid [H8765] H1419 thee do some great H1697 thing H6213 , wouldest thou not have done [H8799] H637 it ? how much rather then H559 , when he saith [H8804] H7364 to thee, Wash [H8798] H2891 , and be clean [H8798] ?

14 H3381 Then went he down [H8799] H2881 , and dipped [H8799] H7651 himself seven H6471 times H3383 in Jordan H1697 , according to the saying H376 of the man H430 of God H1320 : and his flesh H7725 came again [H8799] H1320 like unto the flesh H6996 of a little H5288 child H2891 , and he was clean [H8799] .

15 H7725 And he returned [H8799] H376 to the man H430 of God H4264 , he and all his company H935 , and came [H8799] H5975 , and stood [H8799] H6440 before H559 him: and he said [H8799] H3045 , Behold, now I know [H8804] H430 that there is no God H776 in all the earth H3478 , but in Israel H3947 : now therefore, I pray thee, take [H8798] H1293 a blessing H5650 of thy servant.

16 H559 But he said [H8799] H3068 , As the LORD H2416 liveth H6440 , before H5975 whom I stand [H8804] H3947 , I will receive [H8799] H6484 none. And he urged [H8799] H3947 him to take [H8800] H3985 it; but he refused [H8762] .

17 H5283 And Naaman H559 said [H8799] H5414 , Shall there not then, I pray thee, be given [H8714] H5650 to thy servant H6776 two H6505 mules H4853 ' burden H127 of earth H5650 ? for thy servant H6213 will henceforth offer [H8799] H5930 neither burnt offering H2077 nor sacrifice H312 unto other H430 gods H3068 , but unto the LORD.

18 H1697 In this thing H3068 the LORD H5545 pardon [H8799] H5650 thy servant H113 , that when my master H935 goeth [H8800] H1004 into the house H7417 of Rimmon H7812 to worship [H8692] H8172 there, and he leaneth [H8737] H3027 on my hand H7812 , and I bow [H8694] H1004 myself in the house H7417 of Rimmon H7812 : when I bow down [H8692] H1004 myself in the house H7417 of Rimmon H3068 , the LORD H5545 pardon [H8799] H5650 thy servant H1697 in this thing.

19 H559 And he said [H8799] H3212 unto him, Go [H8798] H7965 in peace H3212 . So he departed [H8799] H3530 from him a little H776 way.

20 H1522 But Gehazi H5288 , the servant H477 of Elisha H376 the man H430 of God H559 , said [H8799] H113 , Behold, my master H2820 hath spared [H8804] H5283 Naaman H761 this Syrian H3947 , in not receiving [H8800] H3027 at his hands H935 that which he brought [H8689] H3068 : but, as the LORD H2416 liveth H7323 , I will run [H8804] H310 after H3947 him, and take [H8804] H3972 somewhat of him.

21 H1522 So Gehazi H7291 followed [H8799] H310 after H5283 Naaman H5283 . And when Naaman H7200 saw [H8799] H7323 him running [H8801] H310 after H5307 him, he lighted down [H8799] H4818 from the chariot H7125 to meet [H8800] H559 him, and said [H8799] H7965 , Is all well?

22 H559 And he said [H8799] H7965 , All is well H113 . My master H7971 hath sent [H8804] H559 me, saying [H8800] H935 , Behold, even now there be come [H8804] H2022 to me from mount H669 Ephraim H8147 two H5288 young men H1121 of the sons H5030 of the prophets H5414 : give [H8798] H3603 them, I pray thee, a talent H3701 of silver H8147 , and two H2487 changes H899 of garments.

23 H5283 And Naaman H559 said [H8799] H2974 , Be content [H8685] H3947 , take [H8798] H3603 two talents H6555 . And he urged [H8799] H6696 him, and bound [H8799] H8147 two H3603 talents H3701 of silver H8147 in two H2754 bags H8147 , with two H2487 changes H899 of garments H5414 , and laid [H8799] H8147 them upon two H5288 of his servants H5375 ; and they bare [H8799] H6440 them before him.

24 H935 And when he came [H8799] H6076 to the tower H3947 , he took [H8799] H3027 them from their hand H6485 , and bestowed [H8799] H1004 them in the house H582 : and he let the men H7971 go [H8762] H3212 , and they departed [H8799] .

25 H935 But he went in [H8802] H5975 , and stood [H8799] H113 before his master H477 . And Elisha H559 said [H8799] H370 unto him, Whence H1522 comest thou, Gehazi H559 ? And he said [H8799] H5650 , Thy servant H1980 went [H8804] H575 no whither.

26 H559 And he said [H8799] H1980 unto him, Went [H8804] H3820 not mine heart H376 with thee, when the man H2015 turned [H8804] H4818 again from his chariot H7125 to meet [H8800] H6256 thee? Is it a time H3947 to receive [H8800] H3701 money H3947 , and to receive [H8800] H899 garments H2132 , and oliveyards H3754 , and vineyards H6629 , and sheep H1241 , and oxen H5650 , and menservants H8198 , and maidservants?

27 H6883 The leprosy H5283 therefore of Naaman H1692 shall cleave [H8799] H2233 unto thee, and unto thy seed H5769 for ever H3318 . And he went out [H8799] H6440 from his presence H6879 a leper [H8794] H7950 as white as snow.
