1 Kings 17 And Elijah the Tishbite , who was of the inhabitants of Gilead , said unto Ahab , As the LORD God of Israel liveth , before whom I stand , there shall not be dew nor rain these years , but according to my word.

2 H1697 And the word H3068 of the LORD H559 came unto him, saying [H8800] ,

3 H3212 Get [H8798] H6437 thee hence, and turn [H8804] H6924 thee eastward H5641 , and hide [H8738] H5158 thyself by the brook H3747 Cherith H6440 , that is before H3383 Jordan.

4 H8354 And it shall be, that thou shalt drink [H8799] H5158 of the brook H6680 ; and I have commanded [H8765] H6158 the ravens H3557 to feed [H8771] thee there.

5 H3212 So he went [H8799] H6213 and did [H8799] H1697 according unto the word H3068 of the LORD H3212 : for he went [H8799] H3427 and dwelt [H8799] H5158 by the brook H3747 Cherith H6440 , that is before H3383 Jordan.

6 H6158 And the ravens H935 brought [H8688] H3899 him bread H1320 and flesh H1242 in the morning H3899 , and bread H1320 and flesh H6153 in the evening H8354 ; and he drank [H8799] H5158 of the brook.

7 H7093 And it came to pass after H3117 a while H5158 , that the brook H3001 dried up [H8799] H1653 , because there had been no rain H776 in the land.

8 H1697 And the word H3068 of the LORD H559 came unto him, saying [H8800] ,

9 H6965 Arise [H8798] H3212 , get [H8798] H6886 thee to Zarephath H6721 , which belongeth to Zidon H3427 , and dwell [H8804] H6680 there: behold, I have commanded [H8765] H490 a widow H802 woman H3557 there to sustain [H8771] thee.

10 H6965 So he arose [H8799] H3212 and went [H8799] H6886 to Zarephath H935 . And when he came [H8799] H6607 to the gate H5892 of the city H490 , behold, the widow H802 woman H7197 was there gathering [H8781] H6086 of sticks H7121 : and he called [H8799] H559 to her, and said [H8799] H3947 , Fetch [H8798] H4592 me, I pray thee, a little H4325 water H3627 in a vessel H8354 , that I may drink [H8799] .

11 H3212 And as she was going [H8799] H3947 to fetch [H8800] H7121 it, he called [H8799] H559 to her, and said [H8799] H3947 , Bring [H8798] H6595 me, I pray thee, a morsel H3899 of bread H3027 in thine hand.

12 H559 And she said [H8799] H3068 , As the LORD H430 thy God H2416 liveth H3426 , I have H4580 not a cake H4393 , but an handful H3709 H7058 of meal H3537 in a barrel H4592 , and a little H8081 oil H6835 in a cruse H7197 : and, behold, I am gathering [H8781] H8147 two H6086 sticks H935 , that I may go in [H8804] H6213 and dress [H8804] H1121 it for me and my son H398 , that we may eat [H8804] H4191 it, and die [H8804] .

13 H452 And Elijah H559 said [H8799] H3372 unto her, Fear [H8799] H935 not; go [H8798] H6213 and do [H8798] H1697 as thou hast said H6213 : but make [H8798] H8033 me thereof H6996 a little H5692 cake H7223 first H3318 , and bring [H8689] H314 it unto me, and after H6213 make [H8799] H1121 for thee and for thy son.

14 H559 For thus saith [H8804] H3068 the LORD H430 God H3478 of Israel H3537 , The barrel H7058 of meal H3615 shall not waste [H8799] H6835 , neither shall the cruse H8081 of oil H2637 fail [H8799] H3117 , until the day H3068 that the LORD H5414 sendeth [H8800] H1653 rain H6440 upon H127 the earth.

15 H3212 And she went [H8799] H6213 and did [H8799] H1697 according to the saying H452 of Elijah H1004 : and she, and he, and her house H398 , did eat [H8799] H3117 many days.

16 H3537 And the barrel H7058 of meal H3615 wasted [H8804] H6835 not, neither did the cruse H8081 of oil H2638 fail H1697 , according to the word H3068 of the LORD H1696 , which he spake [H8765] H3027 by H452 Elijah.

17 H310 And it came to pass after H1697 these things H1121 , that the son H802 of the woman H1172 , the mistress H1004 of the house H2470 , fell sick [H8804] H2483 ; and his sickness H3966 was so H2389 sore H5397 , that there was no breath H3498 left [H8738] in him.

18 H559 And she said [H8799] H452 unto Elijah H376 , What have I to do with thee, O thou man H430 of God H935 ? art thou come [H8804] H2142 unto me to call H5771 my sin H2142 to remembrance [H8687] H4191 , and to slay [H8687] H1121 my son?

19 H559 And he said [H8799] H5414 unto her, Give [H8798] H1121 me thy son H3947 . And he took [H8799] H2436 him out of her bosom H5927 , and carried him up [H8686] H5944 into a loft H3427 , where he abode [H8802] H7901 , and laid [H8686] H4296 him upon his own bed.

20 H7121 And he cried [H8799] H3068 unto the LORD H559 , and said [H8799] H3068 , O LORD H430 my God H7489 , hast thou also brought evil [H8689] H490 upon the widow H1481 with whom I sojourn [H8711] H4191 , by slaying [H8687] H1121 her son?

21 H4058 And he stretched [H8709] H3206 himself upon the child H7969 three H6471 times H7121 , and cried [H8799] H3068 unto the LORD H559 , and said [H8799] H3068 , O LORD H430 my God H3206 , I pray thee, let this child's H5315 soul H7725 come H7130 into him H7725 again [H8799] .

22 H3068 And the LORD H8085 heard [H8799] H6963 the voice H452 of Elijah H5315 ; and the soul H3206 of the child H7725 came H7130 into him H7725 again [H8799] H2421 , and he revived [H8799] .

23 H452 And Elijah H3947 took [H8799] H3206 the child H3381 , and brought him down [H8686] H5944 out of the chamber H1004 into the house H5414 , and delivered [H8799] H517 him unto his mother H452 : and Elijah H559 said [H8799] H7200 , See [H8798] H1121 , thy son H2416 liveth.

24 H802 And the woman H559 said [H8799] H452 to Elijah H2088 , Now by this H3045 I know [H8804] H376 that thou art a man H430 of God H1697 , and that the word H3068 of the LORD H6310 in thy mouth H571 is truth.
