2 Samuel 13:23-29 And it came to pass after two full years , that Absalom had sheepshearers in Baalhazor , which is beside Ephraim : and Absalom invited all the king's sons.

25 H4428 And the king H559 said [H8799] H53 to Absalom H1121 , Nay, my son H3212 , let us not all now go [H8799] H3513 , lest we be chargeable [H8799] H6555 unto thee. And he pressed [H8799] H14 him: howbeit he would [H8804] H3212 not go [H8800] H1288 , but blessed [H8762] him.

26 H559 Then said [H8799] H53 Absalom H251 , If not, I pray thee, let my brother H550 Amnon H3212 go [H8799] H4428 with us. And the king H559 said [H8799] H3212 unto him, Why should he go [H8799] with thee?

27 H53 But Absalom H6555 pressed [H8799] H550 him, that he let Amnon H4428 and all the king's H1121 sons H7971 go [H8799] with him.

28 H53 Now Absalom H6680 had commanded [H8762] H5288 his servants H559 , saying [H8800] H7200 , Mark [H8798] H550 ye now when Amnon's H3820 heart H2896 is merry H3196 with wine H559 , and when I say [H8804] H5221 unto you, Smite [H8685] H550 Amnon H4191 ; then kill [H8689] H3372 him, fear [H8799] H6680 not: have not I commanded [H8765] H2388 you? be courageous [H8798] H1121 , and be valiant H2428 .

29 H5288 And the servants H53 of Absalom H6213 did [H8799] H550 unto Amnon H53 as Absalom H6680 had commanded [H8765] H4428 . Then all the king's H1121 sons H6965 arose [H8799] H376 , and every man H7392 gat him up [H8799] H6505 upon his mule H5127 , and fled [H8799] .

And the king said unto him, Why should he go with thee? ²⁷ But Absalom pressed him, that he let Amnon and all the king’s sons go with him. ²⁸ And Absalom commanded his servants, saying, Mark ye now, when Amnon’s heart is merry with wine; and when I say unto you, smite Amnon, then kill him, fear not: have not I commanded you? be courageous, and be valiant. ²⁹ And the servants of Absalom did unto Amnon as Absalom had commanded. Then all the king’s sons arose, and every man gat him up upon his mule, and fled.
