Numbers 9

ISV(i) 1 The LORD spoke to Moses in Wilderness of Sinai the first month of the second year that they had gone out of Egypt. 2 The Israelites observed the Passover at its appointed time. 3 On the fourteenth day of this month, at twilight at its appointed time, you shall observe it. Keep it according to all its decrees and laws. 4 So Moses instructed the Israelites to observe the Passover. 5 They observed the Passover on the fourteenth day of the first month at twilight, in the Wilderness of Sinai. So the Israelites did according to all that the LORD had commanded Moses. 6 But there were men who couldn't observe the Passover that day on account of a corpse. They approached Moses and Aaron that day. 7 The men said: We are unclean on account of a corpse, why can't we bring an offering to the Lord at the appointed time among the Israelites? 8 Standby and let me hear what the LORD commands concerning you. 9 Then the LORD spoke to Moses saying: 10 Instruct the Israelites: When any of you or your posterity becomes unclean on account of a corpse, or be traveling far then he may observe the Passover of the LORD. 11 On fourteenth day of the second month at twilight, they are to eat it with unleavened bread and bitter herbs. 12 They should not leave any of it by morning or break any of its bone. They must observe it according to all the statutes of the Passover. 13 But for the person who is clean and isn't traveling yet fails to observe the Passover, that person must be cut off from his people for he didn't bring an offering to the LORD at its appointed time. That person must bear his sin. 14 If a resident alien lives with you and wants to observe the Passover of the LORD, let him observe it according to the statues and laws of the Passover. Have the same statute for the resident alien and the native of the land. 15 On the day the tabernacle was set up, a cloud covered the tabernacle {— } the tent for the testimony so that from evening until morning, there was like the appearance of fire over the tabernacle. 16 And it was so continuously {— } covered by the cloud at day and the appearance of fire at night. 17 And whenever the cloud above the tent is lifted up, the Israelites would travel and encamp in the place wherever the cloud settled. 18 According to the instructions of the LORD, the Israelites would travel and according to the instructions of the LORD, they would camp the whole time wherever the cloud over the tent of meeting would settle. 19 When the cloud over the tabernacle stays for longer days, the Israelites kept the instructions of the LORD and didn't travel. 20 There were times when the cloud over the tabernacle remained for a number days. According to the instructions of the Lord they camped and according to the instructions of the LORD, they would travel. 21 There were times when the cloud remained from evening until morning, but when the cloud is lifted up in the morning, then they would journey. Whether by day or by night they would travel whenever the cloud is lifted up. 22 Whether two days, a month, or days longer that the cloud remains above the tabernacle, the Israelites would camp and not travel. But when it is lifted up, then they would travel. 23 According to instructions of the LORD they would camp and according to the instructions of the LORD they would travel. They kept the commands of the LORD according to his instructions under the authority of Moses.
