9 H5927 ויעלו For when they went up H5704 עד unto H5158 נחל the valley H812 אשׁכול of Eshcol, H7200 ויראו and saw H853 את H776 הארץ the land, H5106 ויניאו they discouraged H853 את H3820 לב the heart H1121 בני of the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H1115 לבלתי that they should not H935 בא go H413 אל into H776 הארץ the land H834 אשׁר which H5414 נתן had given H3068 להם יהוה׃ the LORD

10 H2734 ויחר was kindled H639 אף anger H3068 יהוה And the LORD's H3117 ביום time, H1931 ההוא the same H7650 וישׁבע and he swore, H559 לאמר׃ saying,

11 H518 אם Surely H7200 יראו shall see H376 האנשׁים none of the men H5927 העלים that came up H4714 ממצרים H1121 מבן old H6242 עשׂרים from twenty H8141 שׁנה years H4605 ומעלה and upward, H853 את H127 האדמה the land H834 אשׁר which H7650 נשׁבעתי I swore H85 לאברהם unto Abraham, H3327 ליצחק unto Isaac, H3290 וליעקב and unto Jacob; H3588 כי because H3808 לא they have not H4390 מלאו wholly H310 אחרי׃ followed

12 H1115 בלתי Save H3612 כלב Caleb H1121 בן the son H3312 יפנה of Jephunneh H7074 הקנזי the Kenezite, H3091 ויהושׁע and Joshua H1121 בן the son H5126 נון of Nun: H3588 כי for H4390 מלאו they have wholly H310 אחרי followed H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.

13 H2734 ויחר was kindled H639 אף anger H3068 יהוה And the LORD's H3478 בישׂראל against Israel, H5128 וינעם and he made them wander H4057 במדבר in the wilderness H705 ארבעים forty H8141 שׁנה years, H5704 עד until H8552 תם was consumed. H3605 כל all H1755 הדור the generation, H6213 העשׂה that had done H7451 הרע evil H5869 בעיני in the sight H3068 יהוה׃ of the LORD,
