Judges 13 ויספו again בני And the children ישׂראל of Israel לעשׂות did הרע evil בעיני in the sight יהוה of the LORD; ויתנם delivered יהוה and the LORD ביד them into the hand פלשׁתים of the Philistines ארבעים forty שׁנה׃ years.

2 H1961 ויהי And there was H376 אישׁ man H259 אחד a certain H6881 מצרעה H4940 ממשׁפחת of the family H1839 הדני of the Danites, H8034 ושׁמו whose name H4495 מנוח Manoah; H802 ואשׁתו and his wife H6135 עקרה barren, H3808 ולא not. H3205 ילדה׃ and bore

3 H7200 וירא appeared H4397 מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אל unto H802 האשׁה the woman, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אליה unto H2009 הנה her, Behold H4994 נא now, H859 את thou H6135 עקרה barren, H3808 ולא not: H3205 ילדת and bearest H2029 והרית but thou shalt conceive, H3205 וילדת and bear H1121 בן׃ a son.

4 H6258 ועתה Now H8104 השׁמרי therefore beware, H4994 נא I pray thee, H408 ואל not H8354 תשׁתי and drink H3196 יין wine H7941 ושׁכר nor strong drink, H408 ואל not H398 תאכלי and eat H3605 כל any H2931 טמא׃ unclean

5 H3588 כי For, H2009 הנך lo, H2029 הרה thou shalt conceive, H3205 וילדת and bear H1121 בן a son; H4177 ומורה razor H3808 לא and no H5927 יעלה shall come H5921 על on H7218 ראשׁו his head: H3588 כי for H5139 נזיר a Nazarite H430 אלהים unto God H1961 יהיה shall be H5288 הנער the child H4480 מן from H990 הבטן the womb: H1931 והוא and he H2490 יחל shall begin H3467 להושׁיע to deliver H853 את H3478 ישׂראל Israel H3027 מיד out of the hand H6430 פלשׁתים׃ of the Philistines.

6 H935 ותבא came H802 האשׁה Then the woman H559 ותאמר and told H376 לאישׁה her husband, H559 לאמר saying, H376 אישׁ A man H430 האלהים of God H935 בא came H413 אלי unto H4758 ומראהו me, and his countenance H4758 כמראה like the countenance H4397 מלאך of an angel H430 האלהים of God, H3372 נורא terrible: H3966 מאד very H3808 ולא him not H7592 שׁאלתיהו but I asked H335 אי whence H2088 מזה H1931 הוא he H853 ואת H8034 שׁמו he me his name: H3808 לא neither H5046 הגיד׃ told

7 H559 ויאמר But he said H2009 לי הנך unto me, Behold, H2029 הרה thou shalt conceive, H3205 וילדת and bear H1121 בן a son; H6258 ועתה and now H408 אל no H8354 תשׁתי drink H3196 יין wine H7941 ושׁכר nor strong drink, H408 ואל neither H398 תאכלי eat H3605 כל any H2932 טמאה unclean H3588 כי for H5139 נזיר a Nazarite H430 אלהים to God H1961 יהיה shall be H5288 הנער the child H4480 מן from H990 הבטן the womb H5704 עד to H3117 יום the day H4194 מותו׃ of his death.

8 H6279 ויעתר entreated H4495 מנוח Then Manoah H413 אל entreated H3068 יהוה the LORD, H559 ויאמר and said, H994 בי O H136 אדוני my Lord, H376 אישׁ let the man H430 האלהים of God H834 אשׁר which H7971 שׁלחת thou didst send H935 יבוא come H4994 נא H5750 עוד again H413 אלינו unto H3384 ויורנו us, and teach H4100 מה us what H6213 נעשׂה we shall do H5288 לנער unto the child H3205 היולד׃ that shall be born.

9 H8085 וישׁמע hearkened H430 האלהים And God H6963 בקול to the voice H4495 מנוח of Manoah; H935 ויבא came H4397 מלאך and the angel H430 האלהים of God H5750 עוד again H413 אל unto H802 האשׁה the woman H1931 והיא as she H3427 יושׁבת sat H7704 בשׂדה in the field: H4495 ומנוח but Manoah H376 אישׁה her husband H369 אין not H5973 עמה׃ with

10 H4116 ותמהר made haste, H376 האשׁה her husband, H7323 ותרץ and ran, H5046 ותגד and showed H802 לאישׁה And the woman H559 ותאמר and said H413 אליו unto H2009 הנה him, Behold, H7200 נראה hath appeared H413 אלי unto H376 האישׁ the man H834 אשׁר me, that H935 בא came H3117 ביום me the day. H413 אלי׃ unto

11 H6965 ויקם arose, H1980 וילך and went H4495 מנוח And Manoah H310 אחרי after H802 אשׁתו his wife, H935 ויבא and came H413 אל to H376 האישׁ the man, H559 ויאמר and said H859 לו האתה unto him, thou H376 האישׁ the man H834 אשׁר that H1696 דברת spakest H413 אל unto H802 האשׁה the woman? H559 ויאמר And he said, H589 אני׃ I

12 H559 ויאמר said, H4495 מנוח And Manoah H6258 עתה Now H935 יבא come to pass. H1697 דבריך let thy words H4100 מה How H1961 יהיה shall we order H4941 משׁפט shall we order H5288 הנער the child, H4639 ומעשׂהו׃ and shall we do

13 H559 ויאמר said H4397 מלאך And the angel H3069 יהוה H413 אל unto H4495 מנוח Manoah, H3605 מכל H834 אשׁר that H559 אמרתי I said H413 אל unto H802 האשׁה the woman H8104 תשׁמר׃ let her beware.

14 H3605 מכל of any H834 אשׁר that H3318 יצא cometh H1612 מגפן of the vine, H3196 היין wine H3808 לא She may not H398 תאכל eat H3196 ויין H7941 ושׁכר or strong drink, H408 אל neither H8354 תשׁת let her drink H3605 וכל any H2932 טמאה unclean H408 אל nor H398 תאכל eat H3605 כל all H834 אשׁר that H6680 צויתיה I commanded H8104 תשׁמר׃ her let her observe.

15 H559 ויאמר said H4495 מנוח And Manoah H413 אל unto H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H6113 נעצרה let us detain H4994 נא I pray thee, H853 אותך H6213 ונעשׂה thee, until we shall have made ready H6440 לפניך for H1423 גדי a kid H5795 עזים׃ a kid

16 H559 ויאמר said H4397 מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H413 אל unto H4495 מנוח Manoah, H518 אם Though H6113 תעצרני thou detain H3808 לא me, I will not H398 אכל eat H3899 בלחמך of thy bread: H518 ואם and if H6213 תעשׂה thou wilt offer H5930 עלה a burnt offering, H3068 ליהוה it unto the LORD. H5927 תעלנה thou must offer H3588 כי For H3808 לא not H3045 ידע knew H4495 מנוח Manoah H3588 כי that H4397 מלאך an angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD. H1931 הוא׃ he

17 H559 ויאמר said H4495 מנוח And Manoah H413 אל unto H4397 מלאך the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H4310 מי What H8034 שׁמך thy name, H3588 כי that when H935 יבא come to pass H1697 דבריך thy sayings H3513 וכבדנוך׃ we may do thee honor?

18 H559 ויאמר said H4397 לו מלאך And the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H4100 למה unto him, Why H2088 זה thou thus H7592 תשׁאל askest H8034 לשׁמי after my name, H1931 והוא seeing it H6383 פלאי׃ secret?

19 H3947 ויקח took H4495 מנוח So Manoah H853 את H1423 גדי a kid H5795 העזים a kid H853 ואת H4503 המנחה a meat offering, H5927 ויעל and offered H5921 על upon H6697 הצור a rock H3068 ליהוה unto the LORD: H6381 ומפלא wondrously; H6213 לעשׂות and did H4495 ומנוח and Manoah H802 ואשׁתו and his wife H7200 ראים׃ looked on.

20 H1961 ויהי For it came to pass, H5927 בעלות went up H3851 הלהב when the flame H5921 מעל from off H4196 המזבח the altar, H8064 השׁמימה toward heaven H5927 ויעל ascended H4397 מלאך that the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H3851 בלהב in the flame H4196 המזבח of the altar. H4495 ומנוח And Manoah H802 ואשׁתו and his wife H7200 ראים looked on H5307 ויפלו and fell H5921 על on H6440 פניהם their faces H776 ארצה׃ to the ground.

21 H3808 ולא did no H3254 יסף more H5750 עוד H4397 מלאך But the angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD H7200 להראה appear H413 אל to H4495 מנוח Manoah H413 ואל and to H802 אשׁתו his wife. H227 אז Then H3045 ידע knew H4495 מנוח Manoah H3588 כי that H4397 מלאך an angel H3068 יהוה of the LORD. H1931 הוא׃ he

22 H559 ויאמר said H4495 מנוח And Manoah H413 אל unto H802 אשׁתו his wife, H4191 מות H4191 נמות H3588 כי because H430 אלהים God. H7200 ראינו׃ we have seen

23 H559 ותאמר said H802 לו אשׁתו But his wife H3863 לו unto him, If H2654 חפץ were pleased H3068 יהוה the LORD H4191 להמיתנו to kill H3808 לא us, he would not H3947 לקח have received H3027 מידנו at our hands, H5930 עלה a burnt offering H4503 ומנחה and a meat offering H3808 ולא neither H7200 הראנו would he have showed H853 את H3605 כל us all H428 אלה these H6256 וכעת would as at this time H3808 לא nor H8085 השׁמיענו have told H2063 כזאת׃ us as these.

24 H3205 ותלד bore H802 האשׁה And the woman H1121 בן a son, H7121 ותקרא and called H853 את H8034 שׁמו his name H8123 שׁמשׁון Samson: H1431 ויגדל grew, H5288 הנער and the child H1288 ויברכהו blessed H3068 יהוה׃ and the LORD

25 H2490 ותחל began H7307 רוח And the Spirit H3068 יהוה of the LORD H6470 לפעמו to move H4264 במחנה him at times in the camp H1835 דן of Dan H996 בין between H6881 צרעה Zorah H996 ובין H847 אשׁתאל׃ and Eshtaol.
