Joshua 9:15-27

  15 H6213 ויעשׂ made H3091 להם יהושׁע And Joshua H7965 שׁלום peace H3772 ויכרת   H1285 להם ברית a league H2421 לחיותם with them, to let them live: H7650 וישׁבעו swore H5387 להם נשׂיאי and the princes H5712 העדה׃ of the congregation

  16 H1961 ויהי And it came to pass H7097 מקצה at the end H7969 שׁלשׁת of three H3117 ימים days H310 אחרי after H834 אשׁר after H3772 כרתו they had made H1285 להם ברית a league H8085 וישׁמעו with them, that they heard H3588 כי that H7138 קרבים neighbors, H1992 הם they H413 אליו their H7130 ובקרבו among H1992 הם and they H3427 ישׁבים׃ dwelt

  17 H5265 ויסעו journeyed, H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H935 ויבאו and came H413 אל unto H5892 עריהם their cities H3117 ביום day. H7992 השׁלישׁי on the third H5892 ועריהם Now their cities H1391 גבעון Gibeon, H3716 והכפירה and Chephirah, H881 ובארות and Beeroth, H7157 וקרית יערים׃ and Kirjath-jearim.

  18 H3808 ולא them not, H5221 הכום smote H1121 בני And the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3588 כי because H7650 נשׁבעו had sworn H5387 להם נשׂיאי the princes H5712 העדה of the congregation H3068 ביהוה unto them by the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel. H3885 וילנו murmured H3605 כל And all H5712 העדה the congregation H5921 על against H5387 הנשׂיאים׃ the princes.

  19 H559 ויאמרו said H3605 כל But all H5387 הנשׂיאים the princes H413 אל unto H3605 כל all H5712 העדה the congregation, H587 אנחנו We H7650 נשׁבענו have sworn H3068 להם ביהוה unto them by the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H6258 ועתה now H3808 לא not H3201 נוכל therefore we may H5060 לנגע׃ touch

  20 H2063 זאת This H6213 נעשׂה we will do H2421 להם והחיה   H853 אותם   H3808 ולא lest H1961 יהיה be H5921 עלינו upon H7110 קצף wrath H5921 על us, because of H7621 השׁבועה the oath H834 אשׁר which H7650 נשׁבענו׃ we swore

  21 H559 ויאמרו said H413 אליהם unto H5387 הנשׂיאים And the princes H2421 יחיו them, Let them live; H1961 ויהיו but let them be H2404 חטבי hewers H6086 עצים of wood H7579 ושׁאבי and drawers H4325 מים of water H3605 לכל unto all H5712 העדה the congregation; H834 כאשׁר as H1696 דברו had promised H5387 להם הנשׂיאים׃ the princes

  22 H7121 ויקרא called H3091 להם יהושׁע And Joshua H1696 וידבר for them, and he spoke H413 אליהם unto H559 לאמר them, saying, H4100 למה Wherefore H7411 רמיתם have ye beguiled H853 אתנו   H559 לאמר us, saying, H7350 רחוקים far H587 אנחנו We H4480 מכם from H3966 מאד very H859 ואתם you; when ye H7130 בקרבנו among H3427 ישׁבים׃ dwell

  23 H6258 ועתה Now H779 ארורים cursed, H859 אתם therefore ye H3808 ולא and there shall none H3772 יכרת you be freed H4480 מכם of H5650 עבד from being bondmen, H2404 וחטבי and hewers H6086 עצים of wood H7579 ושׁאבי and drawers H4325 מים of water H1004 לבית for the house H430 אלהי׃ of my God.

  24 H6030 ויענו And they answered H853 את   H3091 יהושׁע Joshua, H559 ויאמרו and said, H3588 כי Because H5046 הגד it was certainly told H5046 הגד it was certainly told H5650 לעבדיך thy servants, H853 את   H834 אשׁר how that H6680 צוה commanded H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהיך thy God H853 את   H4872 משׁה Moses H5650 עבדו his servant H5414 לתת to give H853 לכם את   H3605 כל you all H776 הארץ the land, H8045 ולהשׁמיד and to destroy H853 את   H3605 כל all H3427 ישׁבי the inhabitants H776 הארץ of the land H6440 מפניכם from before H3372 ונירא afraid H3966 מאד you, therefore we were sore H5315 לנפשׁתינו of our lives H6440 מפניכם because of H6213 ונעשׂה you, and have done H853 את   H1697 הדבר thing. H2088 הזה׃ this

  25 H6258 ועתה And now, H2005 הננו   H3027 בידך we in thine hand: H2896 כטוב as it seemeth good H3477 וכישׁר and right H5869 בעיניך unto thee H6213 לעשׂות to do H6213 לנו עשׂה׃ unto us, do.

  26 H6213 ויעשׂ did H3651 להם כן And so H5337 ויצל he unto them, and delivered H853 אותם   H3027 מיד them out of the hand H1121 בני of the children H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H3808 ולא them not. H2026 הרגום׃ that they slew

  27 H5414 ויתנם made H3091 יהושׁע And Joshua H3117 ביום day H1931 ההוא them that H2404 חטבי hewers H6086 עצים of wood H7579 ושׁאבי and drawers H4325 מים of water H5712 לעדה for the congregation, H4196 ולמזבח and for the altar H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H5704 עד even unto H3117 היום day, H2088 הזה this H413 אל in H4725 המקום the place H834 אשׁר which H977 יבחר׃ he should choose.
