Isaiah 49:1-8 שׁמעו Listen, איים O isles, אלי unto והקשׁיבו me; and hearken, לאמים ye people, מרחוק from far; יהוה The LORD מבטן me from the womb; קראני hath called ממעי from the bowels אמי of my mother הזכיר hath he made mention שׁמי׃ of my name.

1 H8085 שׁמעו Listen, H339 איים O isles, H413 אלי unto H7181 והקשׁיבו me; and hearken, H3816 לאמים ye people, H7350 מרחוק from far; H3068 יהוה The LORD H990 מבטן me from the womb; H7121 קראני hath called H4578 ממעי from the bowels H517 אמי of my mother H2142 הזכיר hath he made mention H8034 שׁמי׃ of my name.

2 H7760 וישׂם And he hath made H6310 פי my mouth H2719 כחרב sword; H2299 חדה like a sharp H6738 בצל in the shadow H3027 ידו of his hand H2244 החביאני hath he hid H7760 וישׂימני me, and made H2671 לחץ shaft; H1305 ברור me a polished H827 באשׁפתו in his quiver H5641 הסתירני׃ hath he hid

3 H559 ויאמר And said H5650 לי עבדי my servant, H859 אתה unto me, Thou H3478 ישׂראל O Israel, H834 אשׁר in whom H6286 בך אתפאר׃ I will be glorified.

4 H589 ואני Then I H559 אמרתי said, H7385 לריק in vain, H3021 יגעתי I have labored H8414 לתהו for naught, H1892 והבל and in vain: H3581 כחי my strength H3615 כליתי I have spent H403 אכן surely H4941 משׁפטי my judgment H854 את with H3068 יהוה the LORD, H6468 ופעלתי and my work H854 את with H430 אלהי׃ my God.

5 H6258 ועתה And now, H559 אמר saith H3069 יהוה H3335 יצרי that formed H990 מבטן me from the womb H5650 לעבד his servant, H7725 לו לשׁובב H3290 יעקב H413 אליו to H3478 וישׂראל him, Though Israel H3808 לא H622 יאסף be not gathered, H3513 ואכבד yet shall I be glorious H5869 בעיני in the eyes H3069 יהוה H430 ואלהי and my God H1961 היה shall be H5797 עזי׃ my strength.

6 H559 ויאמר And he said, H7043 נקל It is a light thing H1961 מהיותך that thou shouldest be H5650 לי עבד my servant H6965 להקים to raise up H853 את H7626 שׁבטי the tribes H3290 יעקב of Jacob, H5336 ונצירי H3478 ישׂראל of Israel: H7725 להשׁיב and to restore H5414 ונתתיך I will also give H216 לאור thee for a light H1471 גוים to the Gentiles, H1961 להיות that thou mayest be H3444 ישׁועתי my salvation H5704 עד unto H7097 קצה the end H776 הארץ׃ of the earth.

7 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H1350 גאל the Redeemer H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H6918 קדושׁו his Holy One, H960 לבזה despiseth, H5315 נפשׁ to him whom man H8581 למתעב abhorreth, H1471 גוי to him whom the nation H5650 לעבד to a servant H4910 משׁלים of rulers, H4428 מלכים Kings H7200 יראו shall see H6965 וקמו and arise, H8269 שׂרים princes H7812 וישׁתחוו also shall worship, H4616 למען because of H3068 יהוה the LORD H834 אשׁר that H539 נאמן is faithful, H6918 קדשׁ the Holy One H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H977 ויבחרך׃ and he shall choose

8 H3541 כה Thus H559 אמר saith H3068 יהוה the LORD, H6256 בעת time H7522 רצון In an acceptable H6030 עניתיך have I heard H3117 וביום thee, and in a day H3444 ישׁועה of salvation H5826 עזרתיך have I helped H5341 ואצרך thee: and I will preserve H5414 ואתנך thee, and give H1285 לברית thee for a covenant H5971 עם of the people, H6965 להקים to establish H776 ארץ the earth, H5157 להנחיל to cause to inherit H5159 נחלות heritages; H8074 שׁממות׃ the desolate
