Habakkuk 2:5-20 ואף Yea כי also, because היין by wine, בוגד he transgresseth גבר man, יהיר a proud ולא neither ינוה keepeth at home, אשׁר who הרחיב enlargeth כשׁאול as hell, נפשׁו his desire והוא כמות and as death, ולא and cannot ישׂבע be satisfied, ויאסף but gathereth אליו unto כל him all הגוים nations, ויקבץ and heapeth אליו unto כל him all העמים׃ people:

5 H637 ואף Yea H3588 כי also, because H3196 היין by wine, H898 בוגד he transgresseth H1397 גבר man, H3093 יהיר a proud H3808 ולא neither H5115 ינוה keepeth at home, H834 אשׁר who H7337 הרחיב enlargeth H7585 כשׁאול as hell, H5315 נפשׁו his desire H1931 והוא H4194 כמות and as death, H3808 ולא and cannot H7646 ישׂבע be satisfied, H622 ויאסף but gathereth H413 אליו unto H3605 כל him all H1471 הגוים nations, H6908 ויקבץ and heapeth H413 אליו unto H3605 כל him all H5971 העמים׃ people:

6 H3808 הלוא Shall not H428 אלה these H3605 כלם all H5921 עליו against H4912 משׁל a parable H5375 ישׂאו take up H4426 ומליצה him, and a taunting H2420 חידות proverb H559 לו ויאמר against him, and say, H1945 הוי Woe H7235 המרבה to him that increaseth H3808 לא not H5704 לו עד H4970 מתי H3513 ומכביד and to him that ladeth H5921 עליו and to him that ladeth H5671 עבטיט׃ himself with thick clay!

7 H3808 הלוא Shall they not H6621 פתע suddenly H6965 יקומו rise up H5391 נשׁכיך that shall bite H6974 ויקצו H2111 מזעזעיך that shall vex H1961 והיית thee, and thou shalt be H4933 למשׁסות׃ for booties

8 H3588 כי Because H859 אתה thou H7997 שׁלות hast spoiled H1471 גוים nations, H7227 רבים many H7997 ישׁלוך shall spoil H3605 כל all H3499 יתר the remnant H5971 עמים of the people H1818 מדמי blood, H120 אדם thee; because of men's H2555 וחמס and the violence H776 ארץ of the land, H7151 קריה of the city, H3605 וכל and of all H3427 ישׁבי׃ that dwell

9 H1945 הוי Woe H1214 בצע to him that coveteth H1215 בצע covetousness H7451 רע an evil H1004 לביתו to his house, H7760 לשׂום that he may set H4791 במרום on high, H7064 קנו his nest H5337 להנצל that he may be delivered H3709 מכף from the power H7451 רע׃ of evil!

10 H3289 יעצת Thou hast consulted H1322 בשׁת shame H1004 לביתך to thy house H7096 קצות by cutting off H5971 עמים people, H7227 רבים many H2398 וחוטא and hast sinned H5315 נפשׁך׃ thy soul.

11 H3588 כי For H68 אבן the stone H7023 מקיר of the wall, H2199 תזעק shall cry out H3714 וכפיס and the beam H6086 מעץ out of the timber H6030 יעננה׃ shall answer

12 H1945 הוי Woe H1129 בנה to him that buildeth H5892 עיר a town H1818 בדמים with blood, H3559 וכונן and establisheth H7151 קריה a city H5766 בעולה׃ by iniquity!

13 H3808 הלוא not H2009 הנה Behold, H853 מאת H3068 יהוה the LORD H6635 צבאות of hosts H3021 וייגעו shall labor H5971 עמים that the people H1767 בדי in the very H784 אשׁ fire, H3816 ולאמים and the people H1767 בדי themselves for very H7385 ריק vanity? H3286 יעפו׃ shall weary

14 H3588 כי For H4390 תמלא shall be filled H776 הארץ the earth H3045 לדעת H853 את H3519 כבוד of the glory H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H4325 כמים as the waters H3680 יכסו cover H5921 על cover H3220 ים׃ the sea.

15 H1945 הוי Woe H8248 משׁקה unto him that giveth his neighbor drink, H7453 רעהו unto him that giveth his neighbor drink, H5596 מספח that puttest H2573 חמתך thy bottle H637 ואף also, H7937 שׁכר to and makest drunken H4616 למען that H5027 הביט thou mayest look H5921 על on H4589 מעוריהם׃ their nakedness!

16 H7646 שׂבעת Thou art filled H7036 קלון with shame H3519 מכבוד for glory: H8354 שׁתה drink H1571 גם also, H859 אתה thou H6188 והערל and let thy foreskin be uncovered: H5437 תסוב shall be turned H5921 עליך unto H3563 כוס the cup H3225 ימין right hand H3068 יהוה of the LORD's H7022 וקיקלון thee, and shameful spewing H5921 על on H3519 כבודך׃ thy glory.

17 H3588 כי For H2555 חמס the violence H3844 לבנון of Lebanon H3680 יכסך shall cover H7701 ושׁד thee, and the spoil H929 בהמות of beasts, H2865 יחיתן made them afraid, H1818 מדמי blood, H120 אדם because of men's H2555 וחמס and for the violence H776 ארץ of the land, H7151 קריה of the city, H3605 וכל and of all H3427 ישׁבי׃ that dwell

18 H4100 מה What H3276 הועיל profiteth H6459 פסל the graven image H3588 כי that H6458 פסלו thereof hath graven H3336 יצרו of his work H4541 מסכה it; the molten image, H3384 ומורה and a teacher H8267 שׁקר of lies, H3588 כי that H982 בטח trusteth H3335 יצר the maker H3335 יצרו the maker H5921 עליו therein, H6213 לעשׂות to make H457 אלילים idols? H483 אלמים׃ dumb

19 H1945 הוי Woe H559 אמר unto him that saith H6086 לעץ to the wood, H6974 הקיצה Awake; H5782 עורי Arise, H68 לאבן stone, H1748 דומם to the dumb H1931 הוא it H3384 יורה shall teach! H2009 הנה Behold, H1931 הוא it H8610 תפושׂ laid over H2091 זהב with gold H3701 וכסף and silver, H3605 וכל at all H7307 רוח breath H369 אין and no H7130 בקרבו׃ in the midst

20 H3068 ויהוה But the LORD H1964 בהיכל temple: H6944 קדשׁו in his holy H2013 הס keep silence H6440 מפניו before H3605 כל let all H776 הארץ׃ the earth
