1 Samuel 2:28-36 ובחר And did I choose אתו מכל him out of all שׁבטי the tribes ישׂראל of Israel לי לכהן my priest, לעלות to offer על upon מזבחי mine altar, להקטיר to burn קטרת incense, לשׂאת to wear אפוד an ephod לפני before ואתנה me? and did I give לבית unto the house אביך of thy father את כל all אשׁי the offerings made by fire בני of the children ישׂראל׃ of Israel?

28 H977 ובחר And did I choose H853 אתו H3605 מכל him out of all H7626 שׁבטי the tribes H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H3548 לי לכהן my priest, H5927 לעלות to offer H5921 על upon H4196 מזבחי mine altar, H6999 להקטיר to burn H7004 קטרת incense, H5375 לשׂאת to wear H646 אפוד an ephod H6440 לפני before H5414 ואתנה me? and did I give H1004 לבית unto the house H1 אביך of thy father H853 את H3605 כל all H801 אשׁי the offerings made by fire H1121 בני of the children H3478 ישׂראל׃ of Israel?

29 H4100 למה Wherefore H1163 תבעטו kick H2077 בזבחי ye at my sacrifice H4503 ובמנחתי and at mine offering, H834 אשׁר which H6680 צויתי I have commanded H4583 מעון habitation; H3513 ותכבד and honorest H853 את H1121 בניך thy sons H4480 ממני above H1254 להבריאכם me, to make yourselves fat H7225 מראשׁית with the chiefest H3605 כל of all H4503 מנחת the offerings H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H5971 לעמי׃ my people?

30 H3651 לכן Wherefore H5002 נאם saith, H3068 יהוה the LORD H430 אלהי God H3478 ישׂראל of Israel H559 אמור I said H559 אמרתי indeed H1004 ביתך thy house, H1004 ובית and the house H1 אביך of thy father, H1980 יתהלכו should walk H6440 לפני before H5704 עד me forever: H5769 עולם me forever: H6258 ועתה but now H5002 נאם saith, H3068 יהוה the LORD H2486 חלילה Be it far H3588 לי כי from me; for H3513 מכבדי them that honor H3513 אכבד me I will honor, H959 ובזי and they that despise H7043 יקלו׃ me shall be lightly esteemed.

31 H2009 הנה Behold, H3117 ימים the days H935 באים come, H1438 וגדעתי that I will cut off H853 את H2220 זרעך thine arm, H853 ואת H2220 זרע and the arm H1004 בית house, H1 אביך of thy father's H1961 מהיות that there shall not be H2205 זקן an old man H1004 בביתך׃ in thine house.

32 H5027 והבטת And thou shalt see H6862 צר an enemy H4583 מעון habitation, H3605 בכל in all H834 אשׁר which H3190 ייטיב shall give H853 את H3478 ישׂראל Israel: H3808 ולא and there shall not H1961 יהיה be H2205 זקן an old man H1004 בביתך in thine house H3605 כל forever. H3117 הימים׃ forever.

33 H376 ואישׁ And the man H3808 לא of thine, I shall not H3772 אכרית cut off H5973 לך מעם from H4196 מזבחי mine altar, H3615 לכלות to consume H853 את H5869 עיניך thine eyes, H109 ולאדיב and to grieve H853 את H5315 נפשׁך thine heart: H3605 וכל and all H4768 מרבית the increase H1004 ביתך of thine house H4191 ימותו shall die H376 אנשׁים׃ in the flower of their age.

34 H2088 וזה And this H226 לך האות a sign H834 אשׁר unto thee, that H935 יבא shall come H413 אל upon H8147 שׁני thy two H1121 בניך sons, H413 אל on H2652 חפני Hophni H6372 ופינחס and Phinehas; H3117 ביום day H259 אחד in one H4191 ימותו they shall die H8147 שׁניהם׃ both

35 H6965 והקימתי And I will raise me up H3548 לי כהן priest, H539 נאמן a faithful H834 כאשׁר according to which H3824 בלבבי in mine heart H5315 ובנפשׁי and in my mind: H6213 יעשׂה shall do H1129 ובניתי and I will build H1004 לו בית house; H539 נאמן him a sure H1980 והתהלך and he shall walk H6440 לפני before H4899 משׁיחי mine anointed H3605 כל forever. H3117 הימים׃ forever.

36 H1961 והיה And it shall come to pass, H3605 כל every one H3498 הנותר that is left H1004 בביתך in thine house H935 יבוא shall come H7812 להשׁתחות crouch H95 לו לאגורת to him for a piece H3701 כסף of silver H3603 וככר and a morsel H3899 לחם of bread, H559 ואמר and shall say, H5596 ספחני Put H4994 נא me, I pray thee, H413 אל into H259 אחת one H3550 הכהנות of the priests' offices, H398 לאכל that I may eat H6595 פת a piece H3899 לחם׃ of bread.
