1 Kings 2:28-34 והשׁמעה Then tidings באה came עד to יואב Joab: כי for יואב Joab נטה had turned אחרי after אדניה Adonijah, ואחרי after אבשׁלום Absalom. לא not נטה though he turned וינס fled יואב And Joab אל unto אהל the tabernacle יהוה of the LORD, ויחזק and caught hold בקרנות on the horns המזבח׃ of the altar.

28 H8052 והשׁמעה Then tidings H935 באה came H5704 עד to H3097 יואב Joab: H3588 כי for H3097 יואב Joab H5186 נטה had turned H310 אחרי after H138 אדניה Adonijah, H310 ואחרי after H53 אבשׁלום Absalom. H3808 לא not H5186 נטה though he turned H5127 וינס fled H3097 יואב And Joab H413 אל unto H168 אהל the tabernacle H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H2388 ויחזק and caught hold H7161 בקרנות on the horns H4196 המזבח׃ of the altar.

29 H5046 ויגד And it was told H4428 למלך king H8010 שׁלמה Solomon H3588 כי that H5127 נס was fled H3097 יואב Joab H413 אל unto H168 אהל the tabernacle H3068 יהוה of the LORD; H2009 והנה and, behold, H681 אצל by H4196 המזבח the altar. H7971 וישׁלח sent H8010 שׁלמה Then Solomon H853 את H1141 בניהו Benaiah H1121 בן the son H3077 יהוידע of Jehoiada, H559 לאמר saying, H1980 לך Go, H6293 פגע׃ fall

30 H935 ויבא came H1141 בניהו And Benaiah H413 אל to H168 אהל the tabernacle H3068 יהוה of the LORD, H559 ויאמר and said H413 אליו unto H3541 כה him, Thus H559 אמר saith H4428 המלך the king, H3318 צא Come forth. H559 ויאמר And he said, H3808 לא Nay; H3588 כי but H6311 פה here. H4191 אמות I will die H7725 וישׁב brought H1141 בניהו And Benaiah H853 את H4428 המלך the king H1697 דבר word H559 לאמר again, saying, H3541 כה Thus H1696 דבר said H3097 יואב Joab, H3541 וכה and thus H6030 ענני׃ he answered

31 H559 ויאמר said H4428 לו המלך And the king H6213 עשׂה unto him, Do H834 כאשׁר as H1696 דבר he hath said, H6293 ופגע and fall H6912 בו וקברתו upon him, and bury H5493 והסירת him; that thou mayest take away H1818 דמי blood, H2600 חנם the innocent H834 אשׁר which H8210 שׁפך shed, H3097 יואב Joab H5921 מעלי from H5921 ומעל me, and from H1004 בית the house H1 אבי׃ of my father.

32 H7725 והשׁיב shall return H3068 יהוה And the LORD H853 את H1818 דמו his blood H5921 על upon H7218 ראשׁו his own head, H834 אשׁר who H6293 פגע fell H8147 בשׁני upon two H376 אנשׁים men H6662 צדקים more righteous H2896 וטבים and better H4480 ממנו than H2026 ויהרגם he, and slew H2719 בחרב them with the sword, H1 ואבי my father H1732 דוד David H3808 לא not H3045 ידע knowing H853 את H74 אבנר Abner H1121 בן the son H5369 נר of Ner, H8269 שׂר captain H6635 צבא of the host H3478 ישׂראל of Israel, H853 ואת H6021 עמשׂא and Amasa H1121 בן the son H3500 יתר of Jether, H8269 שׂר captain H6635 צבא of the host H3063 יהודה׃ of Judah.

33 H7725 ושׁבו shall therefore return H1818 דמיהם Their blood H7218 בראשׁ upon the head H3097 יואב of Joab, H7218 ובראשׁ and upon the head H2233 זרעו of his seed H5769 לעלם forever: H1732 ולדוד but upon David, H2233 ולזרעו and upon his seed, H1004 ולביתו and upon his house, H3678 ולכסאו and upon his throne, H1961 יהיה shall there be H7965 שׁלום peace H5704 עד forever H5769 עולם forever H5973 מעם from H3068 יהוה׃ the LORD.

34 H5927 ויעל went up, H1141 בניהו So Benaiah H1121 בן the son H3077 יהוידע of Jehoiada H6293 ויפגע and fell H4191 בו וימתהו upon him, and slew H6912 ויקבר him: and he was buried H1004 בביתו in his own house H4057 במדבר׃ in the wilderness.
