1 Chronicles 21:1-5

  1 H5975 ויעמד stood up H7854 שׂטן And Satan H5921 על against H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H5496 ויסת and provoked H853 את   H1732 דויד David H4487 למנות to number H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל׃ Israel.

  2 H559 ויאמר said H1732 דויד And David H413 אל to H3097 יואב Joab H413 ואל and to H8269 שׂרי the rulers H5971 העם of the people, H1980 לכו Go, H5608 ספרו number H853 את   H3478 ישׂראל Israel H884 מבאר שׁבע   H5704 ועד even to H1835 דן Dan; H935 והביאו and bring H413 אלי of them to H3045 ואדעה me, that I may know H853 את   H4557 מספרם׃ the number

  3 H559 ויאמר answered, H3097 יואב And Joab H3254 יוסף so many more H3068 יהוה The LORD H5921 על   H5971 עמו make his people H1992 כהם as they H3967 מאה a hundred H6471 פעמים times H3808 הלא they not H113 אדני but, my lord H4428 המלך the king, H3605 כלם all H113 לאדני my lord's H5650 לעבדים servants? H4100 למה why H1245 יבקשׁ require H2063 זאת this thing? H113 אדני then doth my lord H4100 למה why H1961 יהיה will he be H819 לאשׁמה a cause of trespass H3478 לישׂראל׃ to Israel?

  4 H1697 ודבר word H4428 המלך Nevertheless the king's H2388 חזק prevailed H5921 על against H3097 יואב Joab. H3318 ויצא departed, H3097 יואב Wherefore Joab H1980 ויתהלך and went H3605 בכל throughout all H3478 ישׂראל Israel, H935 ויבא and came H3389 ירושׁלם׃ to Jerusalem.

  5 H5414 ויתן gave H3097 יואב And Joab H853 את   H4557 מספר the sum H4662 מפקד of the number H5971 העם of the people H413 אל unto H1732 דויד David. H1961 ויהי were H3605 כל And all H3478 ישׂראל Israel H505 אלף a thousand H505 אלפים thousand H3967 ומאה and a hundred H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב sword: H3063 ויהודה and Judah H702 ארבע four H3967 מאות hundred H7657 ושׁבעים threescore and ten H505 אלף thousand H376 אישׁ men H8025 שׁלף that drew H2719 חרב׃ sword.
