1 Chronicles 19:2-5

  2 H559 ויאמר said, H1732 דויד And David H6213 אעשׂה I will show H2617 חסד kindness H5973 עם unto H2586 חנון Hanun H1121 בן the son H5176 נחשׁ of Nahash, H3588 כי because H6213 עשׂה showed H1 אביו his father H5973 עמי to H2617 חסד kindness H7971 וישׁלח sent H1732 דויד me. And David H4397 מלאכים messengers H5162 לנחמו to comfort H5921 על him concerning H1 אביו his father. H935 ויבאו came H5650 עבדי So the servants H1732 דויד of David H413 אל into H776 ארץ the land H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon H413 אל to H2586 חנון Hanun, H5162 לנחמו׃ to comfort

  3 H559 ויאמרו said H8269 שׂרי But the princes H1121 בני of the children H5983 עמון of Ammon H2586 לחנון to Hanun, H3513 המכבד doth honor H1732 דויד thou that David H853 את   H1 אביך thy father, H5869 בעיניך Thinkest H3588 כי that H7971 שׁלח he hath sent H5162 לך מנחמים comforters H3808 הלא unto thee? are not H5668 בעבור thee for H2713 לחקר to search, H2015 ולהפך and to overthrow, H7270 ולרגל and to spy out H776 הארץ the land? H935 באו come H5650 עבדיו his servants H413 אליך׃ unto

  4 H3947 ויקח took H2586 חנון Wherefore Hanun H853 את   H5650 עבדי servants, H1732 דויד David's H1548 ויגלחם and shaved H3772 ויכרת them, and cut off H853 את   H4063 מדויהם their garments H2677 בחצי in the midst H5704 עד hard by H4667 המפשׂעה their buttocks, H7971 וישׁלחם׃ and sent them away.

  5 H1980 וילכו Then there went H5046 ויגידו and told H1732 לדויד David H5921 על how H582 האנשׁים   H7971 וישׁלח were served. And he sent H7125 לקראתם to meet H3588 כי them: for H1961 היו were H582 האנשׁים   H3637 נכלמים ashamed. H3966 מאד greatly H559 ויאמר said, H4428 המלך And the king H3427 שׁבו Tarry H3405 בירחו at Jericho H5704 עד until H834 אשׁר until H6779 יצמח be grown, H2206 זקנכם your beards H7725 ושׁבתם׃ and return.
