MESSAGE AGAINST THE SONS OF AMMON
Concerning the sons of Ammon, thus says Yah Veh: Has Yisra El no sons? - No successor? Why has their sovereign succeeded Gad? - and his people settle in his cities? 2 So behold, days come, - an oracle of Yah Veh that I have a blast of war to be heard in Rabbah of the sons of Ammon; and it becomes a desolate heap: and her daughters burn with fire: and Yisra El posseses them who possessed him, says Yah Veh. 3 Howl, O Heshbon, for Ay is ravaged! Cry, you daughters of Rabbah; gird with saq; chop, and flit by the walls; for their sovereign goes into exile together with his priests and his governors. 4 Why halal in the valleys - your flowing valley, O apostate daughter? Who confides in her treasures? Who comes to me? 5 Behold, I bring a fear on you - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh Sabaoth from all them all around you; and they drive you out - every man from his face; and no one gathers him who wanders: 6 And afterward I restore the captivity of the sons of Ammon - an oracle of Yah Veh. 7
MESSAGE AGAINST EDOM
Concerning Edom, thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth: Is wisdom no more in Teman? Is counsel destroyed from the discerning? Is their wisdom spread thin? 8 Flee you, face back, settle deep, O settlers of Dedan; for I bring the calamity of Esav on him at the time I visit him. 9 If clippers come to you, leave they not the gleanings? If thieves by night, they ruin until they satiate. 10 For I - I strip Esav; I expose his coverts; and he cannot hide himself: his seed is ravaged - with his brothers and his fellow tabernaclers - and he is not. 11 Leave your orphans, I enliven them; - and your widows. Trust me! 12 For thus says Yah Veh: Behold, they whose judgment is to not drink of the cup in drinking, they drink; and are you he, who in exonerating, is exonerated? You are not exonerated, but in drinking, you drink thereof. 13 For I oath by myself - an oracle of Yah Veh that Bozrah becomes a desolation, a reproach, a parch, and an abasement - and all the cities eternal parched areas. 14 I hear a report from Yah Veh, and an ambassador is sent to the goyim, Gather yourselves and come against her and rise to the war. 15 For, behold, I give you, small among the goyim and despised among humanity: 16 your trembling deceives you - and the arrogance of your heart, O you who tabernacle in the clefts of the rock - who apprehend the height of the hill: though you heighten your nest as high as the eagle, I bring you down from there - an oracle of Yah Veh. 17 Also Edom becomes a desolation: every one who passes by astonishes and hisses at all the wounds. 18 As the overthrow of Sedom and Amorah and the nearby tabernacles, says Yah Veh, neither man settles there nor a son of humanity sojourns therein. 19 Behold, he ascends as a lion from the pomp of Yarden against the habitation of rest of the perennial: and in a blink, I run him away from her: and who is chosen, that I oversee her? For who is like me? And who congregates with me? And who is that tender standing at my face? 20 So hear the counsel of Yah Veh, that he counsels against Edom; and the fabrications he fabricates against the settlers of Teman: surely the lesser of the flock drag them out: surely he desolates their habitations of rest with them. 21 The earth quakes at the voice of their fall; - the cry - the voice is heard in the Reed sea. 22 Behold, he ascends and flies as the eagle and spreads his wings over Bozrah: and at that day, the heart of the mighty of Edom become as the heart of a woman in her tribulating. 23
MESSAGE AGAINST DAMMESEQ
Concerning Dammeseq: Hamath and Arpad shame: for they hear evil reports; they melt: there is concern on the sea; it cannot rest. 24 Dammeseq slackens and faces to flee; and terror holds her: tribulation and pangs take her as in birthing. 25 How the city of halal is not forsaken - the city of my joy! 26 So her youths fall in her broadways, and all the men of war are severed in that day - an oracle of Yah Veh Sabaoth 27 and I kindle a fire in the wall of Dammeseq and it consumes the citadels of Ben Hadad. 28
MESSAGE AGAINST QEDAR AND HAZOR
Concerning Qedar and concerning the sovereigndoms of Hazor, which Nebukadnets Tsar sovereign of Babel smote: Thus says Yah Veh: Rise; ascend to Qedar: and ravage the sons of the east. 29 They take their tents and their flocks: they bear their curtains to themselves with all their instruments and their camels: and they call out to them, Terror is all around! 30 Flee, bemoan mightily, settle deep, O you settlers of Hazor - an oracle of Yah Veh: for Nebukadnets Tsar sovereign of Babel counsels against you, and fabricates a fabrication against you. 31 Rise; ascend to the serene goyim who settle confidently - an oracle of Yah Veh with neither doors nor bars who tabernacle alone. 32 And their camels become a plunder and the multitude of their chattel a spoil: and I winnow them who chop the edges to all the winds; and I bring their calamity from all sides - an oracle of Yah Veh 33 and Hazor becomes a habitation of monsters and a desolation eternally: neither man settles there, nor a son of humanity sojourns therein. 34
MESSAGE AGAINST ELAM
So be the word of Yah Veh to Yirme Yah the prophet against Elam in the beginning of the sovereigndom of Sidqi Yah sovereign of Yah Hudah, saying, 35 Thus says Yah Veh Sabaoth: Behold, I break the bow of Elam, the beginning of their might: 36 and on Elam I bring the four winds from the four ends of the heavens; and winnow them toward all those winds; so that no goyim becomes where the expelled of Elam enter not. 37 For I dismay Elam at the face of their enemies and at the face of them who seek their soul: and I bring evil on them - my fuming wrath - an oracle of Yah Veh and I send the sword after them until I finish them off: 38 and I set my throne in Elam, and destroy there the sovereign and the governors - an oracle of Yah Veh. 39 And so be it, in the latter days, I restore the captivity of Elam - an oracle of Yah Veh.
