A PRAYER FOR MERCY
Oh that you rip the heavens; that you descend; that the mountains quake at your face 2 - as the brush fire kindles - as the fire boils the waters; to make your name known to your tribulators to quiver the goyim at your face! 3 When you worked awesomenesses which we awaited not, you descended: the mountains quaked at your face. 4 Even since eternity it was neither heard, nor perceived by the ear, nor seen by the eye, O Elohim, beside you, what he worked for him who awaits him. 1 Corinthians 2:9,10 5 You meet him who rejoices and works justness - who remembers you in your ways: behold, you enrage when we sin: in them is eternity and we are saved. 6 And we are all as foul - all of us and all our justnesses as menstrual clothes: and we wither as a leaf - all of us and our perversities, as the wind, bear us away: 7 and no one calls on your name - wakens himself to take hold of you: for you hide your face from us, and melt us by the hand of our perversities. 8 And now, O Yah Veh, you are our father; we are the morter, and you our Former; and we all are the work of your hand. 9 Neither enrage not mightily, O Yah Veh, nor remember our perversity eternally: behold, look, we beseech you, - your people - all of us. 10 Your holy cities are a wilderness: Siyon is a wilderness; Yeru Shalem a desolation: 11 our holies of adornment where our fathers halaled you, are burned with fire: and all our desirables are parched. 12 Refrain you yourself for these, O Yah Veh? You hush, and humble us mightily.
