Genesis 8:1-11:32

ECB(i) 1 And Elohim remembers Noach and every live being and all the animals with him in the ark: and Elohim passes a wind over the earth and the waters asswage; 2 and the fountains of the abyss \ Genesis 7:p and the windows of the heavens shut and the downpour from the heavens restrains; 3 and the waters return from off the earth - going and returning; and after the end of the hundred and fifty days the waters abate. 4 And in the seventh month, on the seventeenth day of the month, the ark rests on the mountains of Ararat: 5 and the waters abate going and returning until the tenth month: in the tenth, on the first of the month, the tops of the mountains appear. 6 And so be it, at the end of forty days, Noach opens the window of the ark he worked: 7 and he sends forth the raven, which goes - going and returning, until the waters dry from the earth: 8 and he sends a dove from him to see if the waters abated from the face of the soil; 9 but the dove finds no rest for the sole of her foot and she returns to him in the ark; for the waters are on the face of the whole earth: then he spreads his hand and takes her and pulls her in to him into the ark. 10 And he waits yet another seven days; and again he sends the dove from the ark; 11 and the dove comes in to him in the evening time; and behold, in her mouth, a plucked olive leaf: so Noach knows the waters abate from off the earth. 12 And he waits yet another seven days; and sends the dove; who returns not again to him any more. 13 And so be it, in the six hundredth and first year, in the first, the first of the month, the waters parch from the earth: and Noach turns aside the covering of the ark and sees, and behold, the face of the soil is parched. 14 And in the second month, on the twenty-seventh day of the month, the earth dries: 15 and Elohim words to Noach, saying, 16 Go from the ark, you and your woman, with your sons and the women of your sons: 17 bring every live being with you - of all flesh, flyers and of animals and of every creeper creeping on the earth; to teem in the earth and bear fruit and abound on the earth. 18 And Noach goes with his sons, his woman and the women of his sons, 19 every live being, every creeper and every flyer and all creeping on the earth, by families, go from the ark.
THE SACRIFICE ALTAR OF NOACH
20 And Noach builds a sacrifice altar to Yah Veh; and takes of every pure animal and of every pure flyer and holocausts holocausts on the sacrifice altar. 21 And Yah Veh scents a sweet scent; and Yah Veh says in his heart, I never again abase the soil for sake of humanity; for the imagination of the heart of humanity is evil from his youth; I never again smite every live being as I worked; 22 as all the days of the earth remain - seed and harvest and cold and heat and summer and winter and day and night shabbathize not. 9 1
THE BOW COVENANT OF ELOHIM
And Elohim blesses Noach and his sons and says to them, Bear fruit and abound and fill the earth. 2 And the awesomeness of you and the terror of you becomes on every live being of the earth and on every flyer of the heavens, on all who creep on the soil and on all the fishes of the sea; into your hand they are given. 3 Every living creeper is for you; even as the green herb, I give you all. 4 Only flesh with the soul, which is the blood, eat not. 5 And surely I require the blood of your souls; at the hand of every live being I require and at the hand of humanity; at the hand of the brother of every man I require the soul of humanity. 6 Whoever pours human blood, thus be his blood poured by humanity: for he worked humanity in the image of Elohim. 7 And you, bear fruit and abound; teem in the earth and abound. 8 And Elohim says to Noach and to his sons with him, saying, 9 And I, behold, I raise my covenant with you and with your seed after you; 10 and with every living soul with you - of the flyers, of the animals and of every live being of the earth with you; from all who go from the ark to every live being of the earth: 11 and I raise my covenant with you; neither is all flesh cut off any more by the waters of a flood; nor is there any more a flood to ruin the earth. 12 And Elohim says, This is the sign of the covenant I set between me and between you and every living soul with you for eternal generations: 13 I give my bow in the cloud - a sign of a covenant between me and between the earth: 14 and so be it, when I overcloud a cloud over the earth, that the bow be seen in the cloud: 15 and I remember my covenant between me and between you and every living soul of all flesh; and the waters never again become a flood to ruin all flesh. 16 And the bow becomes in the cloud; and I see it: to remember the eternal covenant between Elohim and between every living soul of all flesh on the earth. 17 And Elohim says to Noach, This is the sign of the covenant, I raise between me and between all flesh on the earth. 18 And the sons of Noach, going from the ark, are Shem and Ham and Yepheth: and Ham is the father of Kenaan. 19 These are the three sons of Noach: and they scatter throughout the whole earth.
THE INTOXICATION OF NOACH
20 And Noach begins to be a man of the soil and he plants a vineyard: 21 and he drinks of the wine and intoxicates; and he exposes himself midst his tent. 22 And Ham, the father of Kenaan, sees the nakedness of his father and tells his two brothers outside: 23 and Shem and Yepheth take a cloth and set it on the shoulders of the two of them and go backward and cover the nakedness of their father; with their faces backward and they see not the nakedness of their father. 24 And Noach wakens from his wine and knows what his younger son worked to him: 25 and he says, Curse Kenaan; he becomes a servant of servants to his brethren. 26 And he says, Blessed be Yah Veh Elohim of Shem; and Kenaan becomes his servant. 27 Elohim enlarges Yepheth to tabernacle in the tents of Shem; and Kenaan becomes his servant. 28 And Noach lives after the flood three hundred years and fifty years: 29 and all the days of Noach - nine hundred years and fifty years: and he dies. 10 1
GENEALOGY OF THE SONS OF NOACH
And these are the generations of the sons of Noach: Shem, Ham and Yepheth: and they birth sons after the flood. 2 The sons of Yepheth: Gomer and Magog and Maday and Yavan and Tubal and Meshech and Tiras. 3 And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz and Riphath and Togarmah. 4 And the sons of Yavan: Eli Shah and Tarshish, Kittiym and Dodanim. 5 By these were the isles of the goyim separated in their lands; each man by his tongue, by their families, in their goyim. 6 And the sons of Ham: Kush and Misraim and Put and Kenaan. 7 And the sons of Kush: Seba and Havilah and Sabtah and Raamah and Sabtechah. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan. 8 And Kush births Nimrod: he begins to be mighty in the earth. 9 He is a mighty hunter at the face of Yah Veh: thus it is said, Even as Nimrod the mighty hunter at the face of Yah Veh. 10 And the beginning of his sovereigndom is Babel and Erech and Akkad and Kalneh in the land of Shinar. 11 From that land Ashshur goes and builds Nineveh and the city Rechovoth and Kelach; 12 And Resen between Nineveh and Kelach - a great city. 13 And Misraim births Ludiym and Anamim and Lehabim and Naphtuchim 14 and Pathrsimm and Kasluhim - from whom came Peleshethiym and Kaphtorim. 15 And Kenaan births Sidon his firstborn firstbirthed and Heth, 16 and the Yebusiy and the Emoriy and the Girgashiy 17 and the Hivviy and the Arqiy and the Siniy 18 and the Arvadiy and the Semariy and the Hamathiy: and afterward the families of the Kenaaniy scatter. 19 And the border of the Kenaaniy is from Sidon, as you come to Gerar, to Azzah; as you go to Sedom and Amorah and Admah and Seboim, to Lesha. 20 These are the sons of Ham, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, in their goyim. 21 As to Shem, the father of all the sons of Heber, the brother of Yepheth the greater, he also births. 22 The sons of Shem: Elam and Ashshur and Arpachshad and Lud and Aram. 23 And the sons of Aram: Us and Hul and Gether and Mash. 24 And Arpachshad births Shelach; and Shelach births Heber: 25 And Heber births two sons: the name of one, Peleg; for in his days the earth is divided; and the name of his brother, Yoqtan. 26 And Yoqtan births Almodad and Sheleph and Hasar Maveth and Yerach 27 and Hado Ram and Uzal and Diqlah 28 and Obal and Abi Mael and Sheba 29 and Ophir and Havilah and Yobab: all these are the sons of Yoqtan. 30 And their settlement is from Mesha, as you go to Sephar a mount of the east. 31 These are the sons of Shem, by their families, by their tongues, in their lands, by their goyim. 32 These are the families of the sons of Noach, by their generations, in their goyim: and by these the goyim separate in the earth after the flood. 11 1
THE TOWER OF BABEL
And the whole earth is of one lip and of one word. 2 And so be it, as they pull stakes from the east, they find a valley in the land of Shinar and settle there. 3 And they say, man to friend, Give, we make brick and in burning, burn them; the brick is for stone and bitumin is for morter. 4 And they say, Give, we build us a city and a tower whose top is to the heavens; and we work us a name, lest we be scattered abroad on the face of the whole earth. 5 And Yah Veh descends to see the city and the tower the sons of humanity build: 6 and Yah Veh says, Behold, the people is one with one lip to all; and they begin to work this: and now naught is clipped from them, of which they intrigue to work. 7 Give, we descend and mix up their lip, that man not hear the lip of his friend. 8 And from there, Yah Veh scatters them abroad on the face of all the earth: and they cease to build the city. 9 So the name thereof is called Babel; because there Yah Veh mixes up the lip of all the earth: and from there Yah Veh scatters them abroad on the face of all the earth.
GENEALOGY OF SHEM
10 These are the generations of Shem: Shem is a son of a hundred years, and births Arpachshad two years after the flood: 11 and after Shem births Arpachshad he lives five hundred years and births sons and daughters. 12 And Arpachshad lives thirty-five years and births Shelach: 13 and after Arpachshad births Shelach he lives four hundred years and three years and births sons and daughters. 14 And Shelach lives thirty years and births Heber: 15 and after Shelach births Heber he lives four hundred years and three years and births sons and daughters. 16 And Heber lives thirty-four years and births Peleg: 17 and after Heber births Peleg he lives four hundred years and thirty years and births sons and daughters. 18 And Peleg lives thirty years and births Reu: 19 and after Peleg births Reu he lives two hundred years and nine years and births sons and daughters. 20 And Reu lives thirty-two years and births Serug: 21 and after Reu births Serug he lives two hundred years and seven years and births sons and daughters. 22 And Serug lives thirty years and births Nachor: 23 and after Serug births Nachor he lives two hundred years and births sons and daughters. 24 And Nachor lives twenty-nine years and births Terach: 25 and after Nachor births Terach he lives a hundred years and nineteen years and births sons and daughters. 26 And Terach lives seventy years and births Abram, Nachor and Haran. 27 And these are the generations of Terach: Terach births Abram, Nachor and Haran; and Haran births Lot: 28 and Haran dies at the face of his father Terach in the land of his kindred, in Ur of the Kesediym. 29 And Abram and Nachor take women: the name of the woman of Abram, Saray; and the name of the woman of Nachor, Milchah daughter of Haran, father of Milchah and father of Yiskah. 30 And Saray is sterile; she has no child. 31 And Terach takes Abram his son and Lot the son of Haran the son of his son and Saray his daughter in law the woman of his son Abram; and they go with them from Ur of the Kesediym to go into the land of Kenaan; and they come to Haran and settle there. 32 And the days of Terach - two hundred years and five years: and Terach dies in Haran.
