THE CALDRON
And so be the word of Yah Veh to me, in the ninth year, in the tenth month, in the tenth of the month, saying, 2 Son of humanity, inscribe the name of the day - this same day: the sovereign of Babel props himself against Yeru Shalem - this same day: 3 and proverbialize a proverb to the rebellious house: and say to them, Thus says Adonay Yah Veh: Set a caldron; set, and also pour water into it: 4 gather the members into it - every good member - the flank and the shoulder; fill it with the choice bones: 5 take the choice of the flock and also whirl the bones under it; and in boiling, boil it well; and seethe the bones midst it. 6 So, thus says Adonay Yah Veh: Woe to the city of blood - to the caldron whose scum is therein, and whose scum comes not out of it: bring it out member by member; and that no pebble fall thereon. 7 For her blood is in her midst; she sets it on the clearing of a rock; she pours it not on the earth, to cover it with dust; 8 - to ascend fury - to avenge avengement; I give her blood on the clearing of a rock - not covered. 9 So thus says Adonay Yah Veh: Woe to the city of blood! I - I greaten the pile for fire. 10 Abound the timber! Inflame the fire! Consume the flesh! And in spicing, spice! And scorch the bones: 11 and stand it empty on the coals, that heat and scorch the copper thereof so that the foulness thereof melts in the midst - to consume the scum thereof. 12 She wearies herself with mischiefs and her great scum goes not from her: her scum is in the fire. 13 In your foulness is intrigue: because I purify you; and you purify not: you purify not from your foulness any more until I rest my fury on you. 14 I Yah Veh have worded: so be it; and I work it: I neither release nor spare nor sigh: according to your ways and according to your exploits they judge you - an oracle of Adonay Yah Veh. 15
THE DEATH OF THE WOMAN OF YECHEZQ EL
And so be the word of Yah Veh to me, saying, 16 Son of humanity, behold, I take the desire of your eyes away from you with a plague: yet you neither chop nor weep nor your tears run. 17 Hush your shrieking; work no mourning for the dead; bind your tiara on you and set your shoes on your feet; and neither cover your upper lip nor eat the bread of men. 18 Thus I word to the people in the morning: and at even my woman dies; and in the morning I work as I am misvahed. 19 And the people say to me, Tell you not us what these which you work are to us? 20 And I say to them, And so be the word of Yah Veh to me, saying, 21 Speak to the house of Yisra El, Thus says Adonay Yah Veh: Behold, I profane my holies - the pomp of your strength the desire of your eyes and the sympathy of your soul: and your sons and your daughters whom you forsake fall by the sword. 22 And you, work as I work: neither cover your upper lip nor eat the bread of men: 23 with your tiaras on your heads and your shoes on your feet: neither chop nor weep; and you desolate for your perversities, and growl - man toward brother. 24 Thus Yechezq El becomes an omen to you: according to all he works, you work: and when this comes, you know I am Adonay Yah Veh. 25 And you, son of humanity, is it not in the day I take their stronghold from them - the joy of their adornment - the desire of their eyes and the burden of their souls - their sons and their daughters? 26 In that day, the escapees come to you, so that you hear with ears: 27 in that day you open your mouth to the escapees, and word - muted no more: and you become an omen to them; and they know I - Yah Veh.
