Isaiah 28 Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine!

1 H1945 Woe H5850 to the crown H1348 of pride, H7910 to the drunkards H669 of Ephraim, H6643 whose glorious H8597 beauty H5034 is a fading H6731 flower, H7218 which are on the head H8081 of the fat H1516 valleys H1986 of them that are overcome H3196 with wine!

2 H136 Behold, the Lord H2389 has a mighty H533 and strong one, H2230 which as a storm H1259 of hail H6986 and a destroying H8178 storm, H2230 as a flood H3524 of mighty H4325 waters H7857 overflowing, H3240 shall cast down H776 to the earth H3027 with the hand.

3 H5850 The crown H1348 of pride, H7910 the drunkards H669 of Ephraim, H7429 shall be trodden H7272 under feet:

4 H6643 And the glorious H8597 beauty, H7218 which is on the head H8081 of the fat H1516 valley, H5034 shall be a fading H6733 flower, H1061 and as the hasty fruit H7019 before the summer; H7200 which when he that looks H7200 upon it sees, H3709 while it is yet in his hand H1104 he eats it up.

5 H3117 In that day H3068 shall the Lord H6635 of hosts H5850 be for a crown H6643 of glory, H6843 and for a diadem H8597 of beauty, H7605 unto the residue H5971 of his people,

6 H7307 And for a spirit H4941 of judgment H3427 to him that sits H4941 in judgment, H1369 and for strength H7725 to them that turn H4421 the battle H8179 to the gate.

7 H428 But they H7686 also have erred H3196 through wine, H7941 and through strong drink H8582 are out of the way; H3548 the priest H5030 and the prophet H7686 have erred H7941 through strong drink, H1104 they are swallowed up H4480 of H3196 wine, H8582 they are out of the way H7941 through strong drink; H7686 they err H7203 in vision, H6328 they stumble H6417 in judgment.

8 H7979 For all tablets H4390 are full H6892 of vomit H6675 and filthiness, H4725 so that there is no place clean.

9 H3384 Whom shall he teach H1844 knowledge? H995 and whom shall he make to understand H8052 teaching? H1580 them that are weaned H2461 from the milk, H6267 and drawn H7699 from the breasts.

17 H4941 Judgment H7760 also will I lay H6957 to the line, H6666 and righteousness H4949 to the plumb H1259 line: and the hail H3261 shall sweep away H4268 the refuge H3577 of lies, H4325 and the waters H7857 shall overflow H5643 the hiding place.

18 H1285 And your covenant H4194 with death H3722 shall be annulled, H2380 and your agreement H7585 with hell H6965 shall not stand; H7857 when the overflowing H7752 scourge H5674 shall pass through, H4823 then you shall be trodden down by it.

27 H7100 For the fitches H1758 are not threshed H2742 with a threshing instrument, H5699 neither is a cart H212 wheel H5437 turned about H3646 upon the cummin; H7100 but the fitches H2251 are beaten out H4294 with a staff, H3646 and the cummin H7626 with a rod.

28 H3899 Bread H1854 corn is ground; H5331 because he will not ever H156 be threshing H2000 it, nor break H1536 it with the wheel H5699 of his cart, H1854 nor grind H6571 it with his horsemen.

29 H3318 This also comes forth H3068 from the Lord H6635 of hosts, H6381 which is wonderful H6098 in counsel, H1431 and excellent H8454 in working.
