Zechariah 7 And it came to pass in the fourth year of king Darius, that the word of Jehovah came unto Zechariah in the fourth day of the ninth month, even in Chislev.

1 And it came to pass in the H702 fourth H8141 year of H4428 king H1867 Darius, that the H1697 word of H3068 Jehovah came unto H2148 Zechariah in the H702 fourth day of the H8671 ninth H2320 month, even in H3691 Chislev. 2 Now they of H1004 Beth - H410 el had H7971 sent H8272 Sharezer and H7278 Regem-melech, and their H582 men, to H2470 entreat the H6440 favor of H3068 Jehovah, 3 and to H559 speak unto the H3548 priests of the H1004 house of H3068 Jehovah of H6635 hosts, and to the H5030 prophets, H559 saying, Should I H1058 weep in the H2549 fifth H2320 month, H5144 separating myself, as I have H6213 done these so many H8141 years? 4 Then came the H1697 word of H3068 Jehovah of H6635 hosts unto me, H559 saying, 5 H559 Speak unto all the H5971 people of the H776 land, and to the H3548 priests, H559 saying, When ye H6684 fasted and H5594 mourned in the H2549 fifth and in the H7637 seventh month, even these H7657 seventy H8141 years, did ye at H6684 all H6684 fast unto me, even to me? 6 And when ye H398 eat, and when ye H8354 drink, do not ye H398 eat for yourselves, and H8354 drink for yourselves? 7 Should ye not hear the H1697 words which H3068 Jehovah H7121 cried H3027 by the H7223 former H5030 prophets, when H3389 Jerusalem was H3427 inhabited and in H7961 prosperity, and the H5892 cities thereof round about H5439 her, and the H5045 South and the H8219 lowland were H3427 inhabited? 8 And the H1697 word of H3068 Jehovah came unto H2148 Zechariah, H559 saying, 9 Thus hath H3068 Jehovah of H6635 hosts H559 spoken, H559 saying, H8199 Execute H571 true H4941 judgment, and H6213 show H2617 kindness and H7356 compassion every H376 man to his H251 brother; 10 and H6231 oppress not the H490 widow, nor the H3490 fatherless, the H1616 sojourner, nor the H6041 poor; and let none of you H2803 devise H7451 evil H376 against his H251 brother in your H3824 heart. 11 But they H3985 refused to H7181 hearken, and pulled H5414 away the H3802 shoulder, and H3513 stopped their H241 ears, that they might not H8085 hear. 12 Yea, they H7760 made their H3820 hearts as an adamant H8068 stone, lest they should H8085 hear the H8451 law, and the H1697 words which H3068 Jehovah of H6635 hosts had H7971 sent by his H7307 Spirit H3027 by the H7223 former H5030 prophets: therefore there came H1419 great H7110 wrath from H3068 Jehovah of H6635 hosts. 13 And it is come to pass that, as he H7121 cried, and they would not H8085 hear, so they shall H7121 cry, and I will not H8085 hear, H559 said H3068 Jehovah of H6635 hosts; 14 but I will scatter them with a H5590 whirlwind among all the H1471 nations which they have not H3045 known.
