Jeremiah 8 At that time, saith Jehovah, they shall bring out the bones of the kings of Judah, and the bones of his princes, and the bones of the priests, and the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem, out of their graves;

1 H6256 At that time, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah, H3318 they shall bring out H6106 the bones H4428 of the kings H3063 of Judah, H6106 and the bones H8269 of his princes, H6106 and the bones H3548 of the priests, H6106 and the bones H5030 of the prophets, H6106 and the bones H3427 of the inhabitants H3389 of Jerusalem, H6913 out of their graves;

2 H7849 and they shall spread H8121 them before the sun, H3394 and the moon, H6635 and all the host H8064 of heaven, H157 which they have loved, H5647 and which they have served, H310 and after H1980 which they have walked, H1875 and which they have sought, H7812 and which they have worshipped: H622 they shall not be gathered, H6912 nor be buried, H1828 they shall be for dung H6440 upon the face H127 of the earth.

3 H4194 And death H977 shall be chosen H2416 rather than life H7611 by all the residue H7604 that remain H7451 of this evil H4940 family, H7604 that remain H4725 in all the places H5080 whither I have driven H5002 them, saith H3068 Jehovah H6635 of hosts.

4 H559 Moreover thou shalt say H559 unto them, Thus saith H3068 Jehovah: H5307 Shall men fall, H6965 and not rise H7725 up again? Shall one turn away, H7725 and not return?

5 H5971 Why then is this people H3389 of Jerusalem H7725 slidden back H5329 by a perpetual H4878 backsliding? H2388 they hold H8649 fast deceit, H3985 they refuse H7725 to return.

6 H7181 I hearkened H8085 and heard, H1696 but they spake not aright: H376 no man H5162 repenteth H5921 him of H7451 his wickedness, H559 saying, H6213 What have I done? H7725 every one turneth H4794 to his course, H5483 as a horse H7857 that rusheth H4421 headlong in the battle.

7 H2624 Yea, the stork H8064 in the heavens H3045 knoweth H4150 her appointed times; H8449 and the turtle-dove H5693 and the swallow H5483 and the crane H8104 observe H6256 the time H935 of their coming; H5971 but my people H3045 know H4941 not the law H3068 of Jehovah.

8 H559 How do ye say, H2450 We are wise, H8451 and the law H3068 of Jehovah H403 is with us? But, behold, H8267 the false H5842 pen H5608 of the scribes H6213 hath wrought H8267 falsely.

9 H2450 The wise H3001 men are put to shame, H2865 they are dismayed H3920 and taken: H3988 lo, they have rejected H1697 the word H3068 of Jehovah; H2451 and what manner of wisdom is in them?

10 H5414 Therefore will I give H802 their wives H312 unto others, H7704 and their fields H3423 to them that shall possess H6996 them: for every one from the least H1419 even unto the greatest H1214 is given H1215 to covetousness; H5030 from the prophet H3548 even unto the priest H6213 every one dealeth H8267 falsely.

11 H7495 And they have healed H7667 the hurt H1323 of the daughter H5971 of my people H7043 slightly, H559 saying, H7965 Peace, H7965 peace; H7965 when there is no peace.

12 H3001 Were they ashamed H6213 when they had committed H8441 abomination? H954 nay, they were not at all H954 ashamed, H3045 neither could H3637 they blush: H5307 therefore shall they fall H5307 among them that fall; H6256 in the time H6486 of their visitation H3782 they shall be cast down, H559 saith H3068 Jehovah.

13 H622 I will utterly H5486 consume H5002 them, saith H3068 Jehovah: H6025 there shall be no grapes H1612 on the vine, H8384 nor figs H8384 on the fig-tree, H5929 and the leaf H5034 shall fade; H5414 and the things that I have given H5674 them shall pass away from them.

14 H3427 Why do we sit still? H622 assemble H935 yourselves, and let us enter H4013 into the fortified H5892 cities, H1826 and let us be silent H3068 there; for Jehovah H430 our God H1826 hath put us to silence, H4325 and given us water H7219 of gall H8248 to drink, H2398 because we have sinned H3068 against Jehovah.

15 H6960 We looked H7965 for peace, H2896 but no good H6256 came; and for a time H4832 of healing, H1205 and, behold, dismay!

16 H5170 The snorting H5483 of his horses H8085 is heard H1835 from Dan: H6963 at the sound H4684 of the neighing H47 of his strong ones H776 the whole land H7493 trembleth; H935 for they are come, H398 and have devoured H776 the land H4393 and all H5892 that is in it; the city H3427 and those that dwell therein.

17 H7971 For, behold, I will send H5175 serpents, H6848 adders, H3908 among you, which will not be charmed; H5391 and they shall bite H5002 you, saith H3068 Jehovah.

18 H4010 Oh that I could comfort H3015 myself against sorrow! H3820 my heart H1742 is faint within me.

19 H6963 Behold, the voice H7775 of the cry H1323 of the daughter H5971 of my people H776 from a land H4801 that is very far H3068 off: Is not Jehovah H6726 in Zion? H4428 is not her King H3707 in her? Why have they provoked me to anger H6456 with their graven images, H5236 and with foreign H1892 vanities?

20 H7105 The harvest H5674 is past, H7019 the summer H3615 is ended, H3467 and we are not saved.

21 H7667 For the hurt H1323 of the daughter H5971 of my people H7665 am I hurt: H6937 I mourn; H8047 dismay H2388 hath taken hold on me.

22 H6875 Is there no balm H1568 in Gilead? H7495 is there no physician H3588 there? why then H724 is not the health H1323 of the daughter H5971 of my people H5927 recovered?
