Jeremiah 3 They say, If a man put away his wife, and she go from him, and become another man's, will he return unto her again? will not that land be greatly polluted? But thou hast played the harlot with many lovers; yet return again to me, saith Jehovah.

But thou hast played the H2181 harlot with H7227 many H7453 lovers; yet return H7725 again to me, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah. 2 Lift H5375 up thine H5869 eyes unto the bare H8205 heights, and H7200 see; H375 where hast thou not been H7693 lain with? By the H1870 ways hast thou H3427 sat for them, as an H6163 Arabian in the H4057 wilderness; and thou hast H2610 polluted the H776 land with thy H2184 whoredoms and with thy H7451 wickedness. 3 Therefore the H7241 showers have been H4513 withholden, and there hath been no latter H4456 rain; yet thou hast a H2181 harlot's H4696 forehead, thou H3985 refusedst to be H3637 ashamed. 4 Wilt thou not from this time H7121 cry unto me, My H1 Father, thou art the H441 guide of my H5271 youth? 5 Will he H5201 retain his anger for H5769 ever? will he H8104 keep it to the H5331 end? Behold, thou hast H1696 spoken and hast H6213 done evil H7451 things, and hast had thy H3201 way. 6 Moreover H3068 Jehovah H559 said unto me in the H3117 days of H2977 Josiah the H4428 king, Hast thou H7200 seen that which H4878 backsliding H3478 Israel hath H6213 done? she is gone H1980 up upon every H1364 high H2022 mountain and H8478 under every H7488 green H6086 tree, and there hath played the H2181 harlot. 7 And I H559 said H310 after she had H6213 done all these things, She will H7725 return unto me; but she H7725 returned not: and her H901 treacherous H269 sister H3063 Judah H7200 saw it. 8 And I H7200 saw, when, for this very H182 cause that H4878 backsliding H3478 Israel had committed H5003 adultery, I had put her H7971 away and H5414 given her a H5612 bill of H3748 divorcement, yet H898 treacherous H3063 Judah her H269 sister H3372 feared not; but she also H3212 went and played the H2181 harlot. 9 And it came to pass through the H6963 lightness of her H2184 whoredom, that the H776 land was H2610 polluted, and she committed H5003 adultery with H68 stones and with H6086 stocks. 10 And yet for all this her H901 treacherous H269 sister H3063 Judah hath not H7725 returned unto me with her whole H3820 heart, but H8267 feignedly, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah. 11 And H3068 Jehovah H559 said unto me, H4878 Backsliding H3478 Israel hath showed H5315 herself more H6663 righteous than H898 treacherous H3063 Judah. 12 H1980 Go, and H7121 proclaim these H1697 words toward the H6828 north, and H559 say, H7725 Return, thou H4878 backsliding H3478 Israel, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah; I will not H5307 look in H6440 anger upon you; for I am H2623 merciful, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah, I will not H5201 keep anger for H5769 ever. 13 Only H3045 acknowledge thine H5771 iniquity, that thou hast H6586 transgressed against H3068 Jehovah thy H430 God, and hast H6340 scattered thy H1870 ways to the H2114 strangers under every H7488 green H6086 tree, and ye have not H8085 obeyed my H6963 voice, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah. 14 H7725 Return, O H7726 backsliding H1121 children, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah; for I am a H1166 husband unto you: and I will H3947 take you H259 one of a H5892 city, and H8147 two of a H4940 family, and I will H935 bring you to H6726 Zion: 15 and I will H5414 give you H7462 shepherds according to my H3820 heart, who shall H7462 feed you with H1844 knowledge and H7919 understanding. 16 And it shall come to pass, when ye are H7235 multiplied and H6509 increased in the H776 land, in those H3117 days, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah, they shall H559 say no more, The H727 ark of the H1285 covenant of H3068 Jehovah; neither shall it H5927 come to H3820 mind; neither shall they H2142 remember it; neither shall they H6485 miss it; neither shall it be H6213 made any more. 17 At that H6256 time they shall H7121 call H3389 Jerusalem the H3678 throne of H3068 Jehovah; and all the H1471 nations shall be H6960 gathered unto it, to the H8034 name of H3068 Jehovah, to H3389 Jerusalem: neither shall they H3212 walk any more H310 after the H8307 stubbornness of their H7451 evil H3820 heart. 18 In those H3117 days the H1004 house of H3063 Judah shall H3212 walk with the H1004 house of H3478 Israel, and they shall H935 come H3162 together out of the H776 land of the H6828 north to the H776 land that I gave for an H5157 inheritance unto your H1 fathers. 19 But I H559 said, How I will H7896 put thee among the H1121 children, and H5414 give thee a H2532 pleasant H776 land, a H6643 goodly H5159 heritage of the H6635 hosts of the H1471 nations! and I H559 said, Ye shall H7121 call me My H1 Father, and shall not turn H7725 away from following H310 me. 20 H403 Surely as a H802 wife H898 treacherously departeth from her H7453 husband, so have ye dealt H898 treacherously with me, O H1004 house of H3478 Israel, H5002 saith H3068 Jehovah. 21 A H6963 voice is H8085 heard upon the bare H8205 heights, the H1065 weeping and the H8469 supplications of the H1121 children of H3478 Israel; because they have H5753 perverted their H1870 way, they have H7911 forgotten H3068 Jehovah their H430 God. 22 H7725 Return, ye H7726 backsliding H1121 children, I will H7495 heal your H4878 backslidings. Behold, we are H857 come unto thee; for thou art H3068 Jehovah our H430 God. 23 H403 Truly in H8267 vain is the help that is looked for from the H1389 hills, the H1995 tumult on the H2022 mountains: H403 truly in H3068 Jehovah our H430 God is the H8668 salvation of H3478 Israel. 24 But the H1322 shameful thing hath H398 devoured the H3018 labor of our H1 fathers from our H5271 youth, their H6629 flocks and their H1241 herds, their H1121 sons and their H1323 daughters. 25 Let us lie H7901 down in our H1322 shame, and let our H3639 confusion H3680 cover us; for we have H2398 sinned against H3068 Jehovah our H430 God, we and our H1 fathers, from our H5271 youth even unto this H3117 day; and we have not H8085 obeyed the H6963 voice of H3068 Jehovah our H430 God.
