Isaiah 28 Woe to the crown of pride of the drunkards of Ephraim, and to the fading flower of his glorious beauty, which is on the head of the fat valley of them that are overcome with wine!

2 H136 Behold, the Lord H2389 hath a mighty H533 and strong one; H2230 as a tempest H1259 of hail, H6986 a destroying H8178 storm, H2230 as a tempest H3524 of mighty H4325 waters H7857 overflowing, H3240 will he cast down H776 to the earth H3027 with the hand.

3 H5850 The crown H1348 of pride H7910 of the drunkards H669 of Ephraim H7429 shall be trodden H7272 under foot:

4 H5034 and the fading H6733 flower H6643 of his glorious H8597 beauty, H7218 which is on the head H8081 of the fat H1516 valley, H1061 shall be as the first-ripe H7019 fig before the summer; H7200 which when he that looketh H7200 upon it seeth, H3709 while it is yet in his hand H1104 he eateth it up.

5 H3117 In that day H3068 will Jehovah H6635 of hosts H5850 become a crown H6643 of glory, H6843 and a diadem H8597 of beauty, H7605 unto the residue H5971 of his people;

6 H7307 and a spirit H4941 of justice H3427 to him that sitteth H4941 in judgment, H1369 and strength H7725 to them that turn H4421 back the battle H8179 at the gate.

7 H428 And even these H7686 reel H3196 with wine, H8582 and stagger H7941 with strong drink; H3548 the priest H5030 and the prophet H7686 reel H7941 with strong drink, H1104 they are swallowed up H4480 of H3196 wine, H8582 they stagger H7941 with strong drink; H7686 they err H7203 in vision, H6328 they stumble H6417 in judgment.

8 H7979 For all tables H4390 are full H6892 of vomit H6675 and filthiness, H4725 so that there is no place clean.

9 H3384 Whom will he teach H1844 knowledge? H995 and whom will he make to understand H8052 the message? H1580 them that are weaned H2461 from the milk, H6267 and drawn H7699 from the breasts?

18 H1285 And your covenant H4194 with death H3722 shall be annulled, H2380 and your agreement H7585 with Sheol H6965 shall not stand; H7857 when the overflowing H7752 scourge H5674 shall pass through, H4823 then ye shall be trodden down by it.

22 H3887 Now therefore be ye not scoffers, H4147 lest your bonds H2388 be made strong; H2782 for a decree H3617 of destruction H8085 have I heard H136 from the Lord, H136 Jehovah H6635 of hosts, H776 upon the whole earth.

26 H430 For his God H3256 doth instruct H4941 him aright, H3384 and doth teach him.

27 H7100 For the fitches H1758 are not threshed H2742 with a sharp threshing instrument, H5699 neither is a cart H212 wheel H5437 turned about H3646 upon the cummin; H7100 but the fitches H2251 are beaten out H4294 with a staff, H3646 and the cummin H7626 with a rod.

28 H3899 Bread H1854 grain is ground; H5331 for he will not be always H156 threshing H1536 it: and though the wheel H5699 of his cart H6571 and his horses H2000 scatter H1854 it, he doth not grind it.

29 H3318 This also cometh forth H3068 from Jehovah H6635 of hosts, H6381 who is wonderful H6098 in counsel, H1431 and excellent H8454 in wisdom.
