Exodus 18

ASV_Strongs(i)
H3503 Now Jethro, H3548 the priest H4080 of Midian, H4872 Moses' H2859 father-in-law, H8085 heard H430 of all that God H6213 had done H4872 for Moses, H3478 and for Israel H5971 his people, H3068 how that Jehovah H3318 had brought H3478 Israel H4714 out of Egypt.
H3503 And Jethro, H4872 Moses' H2859 father-in-law, H3947 took H6855 Zipporah, H4872 Moses' H802 wife, H310 after H7964 he had sent her away,
H8147 and her two H1121 sons; H8034 of whom the name H259 of the one H1647 was Gershom; H559 for he said, H1616 I have been a sojourner H5237 in a foreign H776 land:
H8034 and the name H259 of the other H461 was Eliezer; H430 for he said, The God H1 of my father H5828 was my help, H5337 and delivered H2719 me from the sword H6547 of Pharaoh.
H3503 And Jethro, H4872 Moses' H2859 father-in-law, H935 came H1121 with his sons H802 and his wife H4872 unto Moses H4057 into the wilderness H2583 where he was encamped, H2022 at the mount H430 of God:
H559 and he said H4872 unto Moses, H2859 I, thy father-in-law H3503 Jethro, H935 am come H802 unto thee, and thy wife, H8147 and her two H1121 sons with her.
H4872 And Moses H3318 went out H7125 to meet H2859 his father-in-law, H7812 and did obeisance, H5401 and kissed H7592 him; and they asked H376 each H7453 other H7965 of their welfare; H935 and they came H168 into the tent.
H4872 And Moses H5608 told H2859 his father-in-law H3068 all that Jehovah H6213 had done H6547 unto Pharaoh H4714 and to the Egyptians H3478 for Israel's H182 sake, H8513 all the travail H4672 that had come H1870 upon them by the way, H3068 and how Jehovah H5337 delivered them.
H3503 And Jethro H2302 rejoiced H2896 for all the goodness H3068 which Jehovah H6213 had done H3478 to Israel, H5337 in that he had delivered H3027 them out of the hand H4714 of the Egyptians.
H3503 And Jethro H559 said, H1288 Blessed H3068 be Jehovah, H5337 who hath delivered H3027 you out of the hand H4714 of the Egyptians, H3027 and out of the hand H6547 of Pharaoh; H5337 who hath delivered H5971 the people H3027 from under the hand H4714 of the Egyptians.
H3045 Now I know H3068 that Jehovah H1419 is greater H430 than all gods; H1697 yea, in the thing H2102 wherein they dealt proudly against them.
H3503 And Jethro, H4872 Moses' H2859 father-in-law, H3947 took H5930 a burnt-offering H2077 and sacrifices H430 for God: H175 and Aaron H935 came, H2205 and all the elders H3478 of Israel, H398 to eat H3899 bread H4872 with Moses' H2859 father-in-law H6440 before H430 God.
H4283 And it came to pass on the morrow, H4872 that Moses H3427 sat H8199 to judge H5971 the people: H5971 and the people H5975 stood H4872 about Moses H1242 from the morning H6153 unto the evening.
H4872 And when Moses' H2859 father-in-law H7200 saw H6213 all that he did H5971 to the people, H559 he said, H1697 What is this thing H6213 that thou doest H5971 to the people? H3427 why sittest H5971 thou thyself alone, and all the people H5324 stand H1242 about thee from morning H6153 unto even?
H4872 And Moses H559 said H2859 unto his father-in-law, H5971 Because the people H935 come H1875 unto me to inquire H430 of God:
H1697 when they have a matter, H935 they come H8199 unto me; and I judge H376 between a man H7453 and his neighbor, H3045 and I make them know H2706 the statutes H430 of God, H8451 and his laws.
H4872 And Moses' H2859 father-in-law H559 said H1697 unto him, The thing H6213 that thou doest H2896 is not good.
H5034 Thou wilt surely H5034 wear away, H5971 both thou, and this people H1697 that is with thee: for the thing H3515 is too heavy H3201 for thee; thou art not able H6213 to perform it thyself alone.
H8085 Hearken H6963 now unto my voice, H3289 I will give thee counsel, H430 and God H1961 be H5971 with thee: be thou for the people H4136 to Godward, H935 and bring H1697 thou the causes H430 unto God:
H2094 and thou shalt teach H2706 them the statutes H8451 and the laws, H3045 and shalt show H1870 them the way H3212 wherein they must walk, H4639 and the work H6213 that they must do.
H2372 Moreover thou shalt provide H5971 out of all the people H2428 able H582 men, H3373 such as fear H430 God, H582 men H571 of truth, H8130 hating H1215 unjust gain; H7760 and place H8269 such over them, to be rulers H505 of thousands, H8269 rulers H3967 of hundreds, H8269 rulers H2572 of fifties, H8269 and rulers H6235 of tens:
H8199 and let them judge H5971 the people H6256 at all seasons: H1419 and it shall be, that every great H1697 matter H935 they shall bring H6996 unto thee, but every small H1697 matter H8199 they shall judge H7043 themselves: so shall it be easier H5375 for thyself, and they shall bear the burden with thee.
H6213 If thou shalt do H1697 this thing, H430 and God H6680 command H3201 thee so, then thou shalt be able H5975 to endure, H5971 and all this people H935 also shall go H4725 to their place H7965 in peace.
H4872 So Moses H8085 hearkened H6963 to the voice H2859 of his father-in-law, H6213 and did H559 all that he had said.
H4872 And Moses H977 chose H2428 able H582 men H3478 out of all Israel, H5414 and made H7218 them heads H5971 over the people, H8269 rulers H505 of thousands, H8269 rulers H3967 of hundreds, H8269 rulers H2572 of fifties, H8269 and rulers H6235 of tens.
H8199 And they judged H5971 the people H6256 at all seasons: H7186 the hard H1697 causes H935 they brought H4872 unto Moses, H6996 but every small H1697 matter H8199 they judged themselves.
H4872 And Moses H2859 let his father-in-law H7971 depart; H3212 and he went H776 his way into his own land.
