2 Chronicles 17 And Jehoshaphat his son reigned in his stead, and strengthened himself against Israel.

1 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H1121 his son H4427 reigned H2388 in his stead, and strengthened H3478 himself against Israel.

2 H5414 And he placed H2428 forces H1219 in all the fortified H5892 cities H3063 of Judah, H5414 and set H5333 garrisons H776 in the land H3063 of Judah, H5892 and in the cities H669 of Ephraim, H609 which Asa H1 his father H3920 had taken.

3 H3068 And Jehovah H3092 was with Jehoshaphat, H1980 because he walked H7223 in the first H1870 ways H1 of his father H1732 David, H1875 and sought H1168 not unto the Baalim,

4 H1875 but sought H430 to the God H1 of his father, H1980 and walked H4687 in his commandments, H4639 and not after the doings H3478 of Israel.

5 H3068 Therefore Jehovah H3559 established H4467 the kingdom H3027 in his hand; H3063 and all Judah H5414 brought H3092 to Jehoshaphat H4503 tribute; H6239 and he had riches H3519 and honor H7230 in abundance.

6 H3820 And his heart H1361 was lifted up H1870 in the ways H3068 of Jehovah: H5493 and furthermore he took away H1116 the high places H842 and the Asherim H3063 out of Judah.

7 H7969 Also in the third H8141 year H4427 of his reign H7971 he sent H8269 his princes, H1134 even Ben-hail, H5662 and Obadiah, H2148 and Zechariah, H5417 and Nethanel, H4322 and Micaiah, H3925 to teach H5892 in the cities H3063 of Judah;

8 H3881 and with them the Levites, H8098 even Shemaiah, H5418 and Nethaniah, H2069 and Zebadiah, H6214 and Asahel, H8070 and Shemiramoth, H3083 and Jehonathan, H138 and Adonijah, H2900 and Tobijah, H2899 and Tob-adonijah, H3881 the Levites; H476 and with them Elishama H3088 and Jehoram, H3548 the priests.

9 H3925 And they taught H3063 in Judah, H5612 having the book H8451 of the law H3068 of Jehovah H5437 with them; and they went about H5892 throughout all the cities H3063 of Judah, H3925 and taught H5971 among the people.

10 H6343 And the fear H3068 of Jehovah H4467 fell upon all the kingdoms H776 of the lands H5439 that were round about H3063 Judah, H3898 so that they made no war H3092 against Jehoshaphat.

11 H6430 And some of the Philistines H935 brought H3092 Jehoshaphat H4503 presents, H3701 and silver H4853 for tribute; H6163 the Arabians H935 also brought H6629 him flocks, H7651 seven H505 thousand H7651 and seven H3967 hundred H352 rams, H7651 and seven H505 thousand H7651 and seven H3967 hundred H8495 he-goats.

12 H3092 And Jehoshaphat H1980 waxed H1432 great H4605 exceedingly; H1129 and he built H3063 in Judah H1003 castles H5892 and cities H4543 of store.

13 H7227 And he had many H4399 works H5892 in the cities H3063 of Judah; H582 and men H4421 of war, H582 mighty men H2428 of valor, H3389 in Jerusalem.

17 H1144 And of Benjamin: H450 Eliada H1368 a mighty man H2428 of valor, H3967 and with him two hundred H505 thousand H5401 armed H7198 with bow H4043 and shield;

18 H3027 and next H3075 to him Jehozabad H3967 and with him a hundred H8084 and fourscore H505 thousand H2502 ready prepared H6635 for war.

19 H8334 These were they that waited H4428 on the king, H4428 besides those whom the king H5414 put H4013 in the fortified H5892 cities H3063 throughout all Judah.
