Titus 3

ALT(i) 1 Remind them to continue being subject to rulers and authorities, to be obeying, to be ready for every good work, 2 to be speaking evil of [or, slandering] no one, to be peaceable, gentle [or, considerate], showing all gentleness to all people. 3 For we also were once foolish, disobedient, being led astray [fig., deceived], serving as slaves to lusts and various passions [or, desires for pleasure], living in malice and envy [or, jealousy], hateful, hating one another. 4 But when the kindness and the love for humanity of God our Savior appeared 5 (not by means of works, the [ones] in righteousness which we did, but according to His mercy), He saved us, through a bathing of regeneration and a renewing of [the] Holy Spirit, 6 whom He poured out upon us richly, through Jesus Christ our Savior, 7 so that having been justified [or, declared righteous] by that One's grace, we shall become heirs according to [the] hope [or, confident expectation] of eternal life. 8 Trustworthy [is] the word, and I want you to be confidently asserting concerning these [things], so that they, the ones having believed God, shall be concentrating on devoting themselves to good works. These are the good and beneficial [or, valuable] things to people. 9 But be avoiding foolish controversies and genealogies and quarrels and fights [fig., disputes] about law, for they are unprofitable and futile. 10 Be rejecting a divisive [or, heretical] person after a first and second warning, 11 knowing that such [a person] has been corrupted and is sinning, being self-condemned. 12 Whenever I send Artemas or Tychicus to you, be eager [or, diligent] to come to me to Nicopolis, for I have decided to spend the winter there. 13 Eagerly help Zenas the lawyer and Apollos on their journey, so that nothing shall be lacking to them. 14 And let our [people] also be learning to be concentrating on good works for urgent needs, so that they shall not be unfruitful. 15 All the [ones] with me greet you. Greet the ones affectionately loving us in faith. Grace [be] with all of youp! So be it!
