Revelation

ALT(i) 1 [The] revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave to Him to show to His slaves what [things are] necessary to occur with quickness. And He made [it] known, having sent through His angel to His slave John, 2 who testified to the word of God and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, as many [things] as he also saw. 3 Happy [or, Blessed] is the one reading [to the assembly] and the ones hearing the words of the prophecy and keeping [or, obeying] the [things] having been written in it, for the time [is] near! 4 John, To the seven assemblies [or, churches, and throughout book], the [ones] in Asia: Grace to youp and peace from God, the One being and the One [who] was and the One [who is] coming, and from the seven spirits which {are} [fig., the seven-fold Spirit who is] before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the first-born of the dead [ones] and the ruler of the kings of the earth. To the One loving us and having bathed us from our sins in His blood. 6 And He made us a kingdom, priests to His God and Father— to Him [be] the glory and the power into the ages of the ages [fig., forever and ever]! So be it! 7 "Look! He is coming with the clouds," and "every eye will see Him, even [the ones] who pierced Him, and all the tribes of the earth will beat their breasts [fig., mourn] because of Him." Yes indeed! So be it! [Dan 7:13; Zech 12:10] 8 "I am the Alpha and the Omega [i.e. the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet]," says [the] Lord God, "The One being and the One [who] was and the One [who is] coming— the Almighty." 9 I, John, the [one being] yourp brother and partner in the affliction and the kingdom and patient endurance in Jesus Christ, came to be in the island, the one being called Patmos, because of the word of God and because of the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I came to be in spirit [or, in [the] Spirit] on the Lord's day, and I heard behind me a great voice, like a trumpet-blast, 11 saying, "What you see, write in a scroll, and send [it] to the seven assemblies: to Ephesus and to Smyrna and to Pergamos and to Thyatira and to Sardis and to Philadelphia and to Laodicea." 12 And there I turned around to be seeing the voice which was speaking with me. And having turned around, I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in [the] middle of the seven lamp-stands [One] like [the] Son of Humanity [or, a son of humanity], having been clothed with a robe reaching to the feet and having been wrapped around at the chest with a golden belt [or, sash]. 14 Now His head and His hair [were] white like white wool, like snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire. 15 And His feet [were] like fine brass [or, burnished bronze] when it has been refined in a furnace, and His voice like [the] sound of many waters, 16 and having seven stars in His right hand, and a sharp, double-edged sword proceeding out of His mouth, and His face [was] like the sun shining in its might. 17 And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. And He placed His right [hand] on me, saying, "Stop being afraid! I am the First and the Last, 18 and the living One. And I became dead. And look! I am living into the ages of the ages [fig., forever and ever]. Amen! And I have the keys of death and of the realm of the dead [Gr., hades]. 19 "Therefore, write what [things] you saw, and what [things] are, and what [things] are about to be coming after these [things]. 20 The secret [or, mystery] of the seven stars which you saw on My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are angels of the seven assemblies, and the seven lampstands {which you saw} are seven assemblies.
